cybercoma Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 If he stays on public property, yes, of course he does. Unless, of course, Ford gets a restraining order against him. Or an injunction... BREAKING NEWS: Mayor Rob Ford calls the cops because his neighbour was peering into his yard. Ford says, "This is f___ing ridiculous! First that reporter, now this! This has gone too far!" We asked the neighbour why he was peering into the mayor's yard. He replied, "I was just putting shingles on my roof and next thing you know Rob's screaming and yelling at me to get off my roof. Then the cops showed up. I don't know what his problem is." Quote
cybercoma Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 This goes for the Star as well, attacking him for eating at a KFCIt was Ford's idea to Cut the Waist and call a media scrum for his weigh-ins, telling Torontonians that they need to hold him accountable. So what's that about 'attacking' him? Quote
Shakeyhands Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 This is going from bad to worse for Ford. Cell phone accessed and used after Ford takes it I have a feeling he's going to be charged over this now. Quote "They muddy the water, to make it seem deep." - Friedrich Nietzsche

So what's that about 'attacking' him? Laughing and belittling someone for being fat is not considered an attack? You must be a fun guy to hang around with. Quote
BubberMiley Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Sounds like he mugged the guy in a public park for his phone, or is that just a "looney left" interpretation? Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
Rick Posted May 4, 2012 Author Report Posted May 4, 2012 This is going from bad to worse for Ford. Cell phone accessed and used after Ford takes it I have a feeling he's going to be charged over this now. Good. Time to get rid of the repeat offender.Ford's lengthy criminal record shows he's not fit to hold office let alone his mental instability. Black Dog Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 It's really amazing the amount of vitriol and open hatred the looney left displays towards what is, in the end, nothing but a local city mayor whose big crime it seems, is to have the sheer audacity to try and reign in wasteful spending. The idea that Ford is just an honest guy trying to reign in reckless government spending is just so stunningly naive I find it hard to believe it's coming from an arch-cynic like Argus. Either this is some real down low sarcasm or you actually have never heard of the guy before today. Obviously, I'm as guilty as anyone of making Ford fat jokes. For me, though, the weight shit is just-ahem-gravy. His behaviour and his policies (such as they are) are ample fodder, yet it's interesting that the only time any righties come to his defence is when someone mocks his weight problems. I guess standing up for the guy's actual politics or his temperament is a bridge too far. Finally I probably wouldn'ty have to dig too far deep to find certain posters from the right ward end of the spectrum should probably leave their slingshots out of the greenhouse when it comes to mocking political opponents' appearance or dress. Boges Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Nice of you guys to read the story you posted before commenting on it. It is not known whether other phone calls or messages were sent with Dale’s phone, or if emails or data had been accessed. Ford gave Dale’s cellphone and recorder to police, who have obtained court authorization to keep it until the investigation is over. Ford turned the phone over to the police. Any evidence that Ford used the phone? Why would he call an unfriendly councilor with someone else's phone? And he didn't mug the reporter, the ambitious reporter dropped it. What type of reporter does that? But we do know he lied about the phone being dead. During their interview with Dale Thursday, police also said his phone had multiple bars of battery life when they obtained it from Ford. Dale said his cellphone was completely dead when he gave it to the mayor. Quote

Boges Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Ford charged the phone up so he could look at it to see what was done with it...simple answer. That can't, in any way, be proven. How do we even know he had a charger that could charge Dale's phone. Quote

In fact, just yesterday while out visiting a customer, I had to borrow his android charger to charge my Blackberry... yeah, those micro USB chargers are hard to come by. cybercoma Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Laughing and belittling someone for being fat is not considered an attack? You must be a fun guy to hang around with. No. Laughing and making fun of him for being fat is an attack. I haven't done that in this thread, although others have and I find it detestable. However, the Toronto Star covering his weight and posting negative columns about him visiting KFC are because he made the choice to put his weight-loss efforts into the news. Quote

I think the star has a right to skewer Rob Ford as much as they want, but not with fat jokes. It's not like there isn't lots of other material. Quote

scribblet Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Isn't that always your strategy when you want to be the good partisan but are faced with an embarrassingly indefensible politician? Debating policies and issues are one thing, attacking a politician or anyone because of their weight is another. Hatred of Ford has gone beyond policy and issues it's way beyond normal discourse, it's just visceral hatred with little or no logic to it.
