Blackmail? isn't that what the CPC is now doing with LPC with Adam Caroll, please take off your biased sun glasses Bill and agree with me that this is also black mail

The Conservatives have given the Liberals another five days to reveal what they know about the public release of salacious details of Public Safety Minister Vic Toews’s divorce before they call the Liberal staffer who resigned over the affair before a committee.

Of course it's blackmail...

But precisely whom are they going to haul into court on this one??

That's the scary thing about anarchist vigilante groups like Anonymous...

The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!

perhaps a recap is in order? Just exactly what is it you're saying this "wide brush" affords CSEC, affords Canadian policing, in terms of domestic focused surveillance... most particularly, your premise that the U.S. NSA is an easy, end-around, go-to outlet to circumvent in-place Canadian protection requirements (i.e., judicial warrants). Equally, you could tie this all back to the initial Derek L/Argus premise that Bill C-30 is simply "steamlining" of what's already available/being done (ala CSEC).

For your first question, the “wide brush” is in reference to the above quoted part of the CDA, in that the Canadian Forces, by request of a minister, can aide in domestic policing if it’s in the “national interest” and/or said mater can’t be dealt with without their aide. A bit of wiggle room no?

As for the NSA, like I said numerous times, they are not bound to Canadian (privacy) laws, nor do they require warrants for surveillance of Canadians.

As for Bill C-30, under it, their will be provisions that will allow police the ability for surveillance without a warrant.

Not the Canadian Government, but if you do anything “interesting” when not posting here, they will be made aware. More than likely, you’re near the bottom of the proverbial food chain in terms of interest though if you’re a mere cheerleader. Don’t lose any sleep.

If that’s your desire, start lacing your cellphone and online conversations with such keynotes and searches as “Harper must die”, “explosion”, “subway/transit”, “diesel & nitrate”, “Anthrax” etc…….Renting a 5 ton truck and purchasing large quantities of fertilizer, coupled with numerous pics of the Parliament buildings, DND headquarters, CSIS, Skydome/Space Needle and Jewish temples and schools will certainly help.

I thought you wanted to be a millionaire? All of a sudden lost your nerve? You could merely say you’re conducting a test of the nation’s security apparatus……Like when journalists sneak toe nail clippers and hand cream on a airline to write a negative storey about airline security……..

I think my system was tagged just for clicking the link to this thread Derek.

BTW is the 7 days up yet?

Is that today or tommorrow or Sunday?

What could be worse than an affair with someone you got a job... and an illegitimate child?

Vic shouldn't back down for one reason and one reason only... the truth.

Yeah, V EV (elizibeth/vic) should not back down, we need to know what anonymous knows.

It has got to be good, like he is really Russian. or his parents are Chinese.

Ask Byron Sonne how that's working for him.

I honestly don’t know Anonymous’ planned “release date”, I don’t actively follow them and any news I hear about them is either from this website, mainstream news outlets and from seeing a few of their protests in downtown Vancouver.

As for what “dirt” they have, not a clue, and I won’t bother speculating.

Ask Byron Sonne how that's working for him.

Indeed.

Driven by curiosity, hubris, and a genuine desire for social justice, Sonne poked and prodded the $1.2 billion “security apparatus” of the 2010 G20 summit in Toronto. He wanted to know if it was in fact just “security theater”–an expensive display of pomp and barbed wire that would never thwart an actual terrorist. Simultaneously, he wanted to know if it was too effective, if the heightened atmosphere around the summit meant that police were forgetting people’s rights. And he wanted us to know too, so he documented everything he did.

Sonne, who goes by TorontoGoat on Twitter, offered himself as a sacrificial lamb–a hapless animal who pooped on the cops via the Internet. His experiment was scattershot–he uploaded incendiary political texts of every nature to test if he was being surveilled. He flexed his freedom of speech by calling police “bacon” on Twitter. He tweeted about how the $9.4 million security fence could easily be climbed, but did not exactly say that it should be. All of this would likely have gone unnoticed if @torontogoat hadn’t clomped around the fence perimeter, shooting video. Taking pictures is not a crime, so the cops, unable to charge him with anything, threatened to take him in for jaywalking as an excuse to see his I.D. He complied with this “ruse,” as the authorities themselves have since described it, and that’s what brought the full force of law enforcement down on his head. When the cops finally googled Sonne, they went to town on him. He was surveilled, searched, arrested, questioned for 12 hours without a lawyer, and thrown in jail. Sonne spent 11 months locked up, awaiting bail. During that time his wife (also arrested, charges since dropped) left him.

Though I tend to agree with the consensus on Bill C-30, there get’s a point when one must look at legal ways to voice ones opposition towards it…………Like the cliché states though, “you mess with the Bull, you’re bound to be gored by the horn”………..Taking a mature approach when voicing political opposition isn’t going to get you thrown in prison, and will likely bare more fruit………

you seem to keep dancing around your earlier statement/implications; i.e., that, again, in an almost routine operational manner, "the U.S. NSA is an easy, end-around, go-to outlet to circumvent in-place Canadian protection requirements (i.e., judicial warrants)".

what is your basis to suggest/support your claim that, as a matter of routine domestic requirement, Canadian policing can, and does, forgo the need for Canadian judicial oversight, and avails itself of a 'back-door, roundabout' U.S. NSA outlet to monitor and gather information on Canadians. Your basis and support for this, your claim, is...???

Why don't they just release the information...if they know about a crime/illicit activity, why wouldn't it be best to make it public?

Toews appointed a judge while sleeping with her & Harper quietly axed him as Justice Minister as a result.

These idiots will make a mistake ,and then we will know everything about them as they sit in jail.
