cybercoma Posted February 25, 2012 Author Report Posted February 25, 2012 self-serving personal anecdote dropping anonymous reference/names! A friend of mine worked for a Conservative campaign this past election and he was told to vandalize campaign signs and make calls to people impersonating the Liberal candidate's campaign. He quit when they asked him to work an overnight shift making fraudulent calls. Quote
cybercoma Posted February 25, 2012 Author Report Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) it was bad enough that you were dancing around innuendo concerning voter lists... that you're now quite content to pass this most significant event off as some kind of benign, sophomoric, frat-boys prank/joke..... Even if that is the case, shrugging it off as though it were meaningless is pretty disgusting. Those frat-boys ought to be severely punished for interfering with an election. Maybe the 18-25 demographic should get out and vote instead of making fraudulent phonecalls... amiright? Edited February 25, 2012 by cybercoma Quote
olpfan1 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Yeah.. these were not pranks anymore than walking up to random people and sacking them in the middle of the street are pranks This was an open assault on democracy! Michael Sona is an American... our democracy is being usurped by Americans and here people are saying they were pranks Quote
cybercoma Posted February 25, 2012 Author Report Posted February 25, 2012 What if Harper was involved and knew what was going on? Do you hope he gets the maximum sentence too? Quote

Or better yet, have told a Toronto Star reporter! Not only would the media have punished this candidate but his own party would have been obliged to punish him! It would've looked good on him but sadly, another one in some other party would've appeared to take his place. Politicians and lawyers... olpfan1 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Wonder if these calls happened during the provincial election too Quote
cybercoma Posted February 25, 2012 Author Report Posted February 25, 2012 If you see Harper as a "benign, sophomoric frat boy" prone to pulling off pranks and jokes, WOW you really need to get a perspective on things. I doubt if Harper EVER pulled off a prank or a joke he is too serious of a person. Again, what if Harper was involved. Would you want him to get the full five years? Quote
olpfan1 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 If a high ranking tory was involved there should be a by election for every riding affected. yes or no? Quote
olpfan1 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) Funny how the CPC say they just knew about this a few days a go but they already found the lone perp responsible I guess they are better investigators than Elections Canada & The RCMP Either that or they are full of crap They probably picked Sona to be the fall guy cause he already had dirt on his hands Edited February 25, 2012 by olpfan1 Quote
cybercoma Posted February 25, 2012 Author Report Posted February 25, 2012 Or they knew right away because he actually was the one that was directed by the party to do it. Quote

olpfan1 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Remember Dimitri Soudas leaving the PMO a month after the election that caught everybody by surprise? He cited he wanted to leave to spend time with his family...what if the real reason was he was disgusted by what he found out about this voter suppression or that he regretted being a part of it and had to leave and distance himself from it? He was with Harper ever since Harper was the Leader of the Opposition ..why would he suddenly bail after their most successful election? Quote
PIK Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Do you think the most widespread case of election fraud in our country's history is amusing? That there shouldn't be consequences? Why not hold an election? If you believe the Tories would still win anyway why not agree to call for re elections? or are you scurred Great idea, we would end up with a bigger majority. olpfan1 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) Great idea, we would end up with a bigger majority. capricorn Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Remember Dimitri Soudas leaving the PMO a month after the election that caught everybody by surprise? Incorrect. Mr. Soudas's last day will be in early September and the native Montrealer is moving to Toronto with his family. The Conservative aide had telegraphed this move for weeks, telling reporters during the campaign he would soon be leaving. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ottawa-notebook/harper-loyalist-dimitri-soudas-stepping-down-as-pmo-spokesman/article2043040/ He cited he wanted to leave to spend time with his family...what if the real reason was he was disgusted by what he found out about this voter suppression or that he regretted being a part of it and had to leave and distance himself from it?He was with Harper ever since Harper was the Leader of the Opposition ..why would he suddenly bail after their most successful election? Your entire argument falls down since it's based on your selective memory of events. Forget Soudas and dig further into episodes of 24 or The Wire for clues. I could still be right.. that doesn't take the suspicion off of him.. he could have known about it and decided to leave after all these calls were happening from March to May. he could have had a guilty conscience Quote
olpfan1 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Something vital .. Elections Canada is seeking a new commissioner of Elections Canada http://www.elections.ca/content.aspx?section=abo&dir=com/ad&document=index〈=e Quote
capricorn Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 IMO the two parties affected, the Liberals and the Conservatives both want to obtain the correct answers from Elections Canada. As we all do, of course. This is interesting. senior Liberals quietly acknowledge that they do not believe Conservative campaign chairman Guy Giorno would approve any such campaign. http://www.vancouversun.com/news/More+than+dozen+ridings+blitzed+harassing+fake+Liberal+phone+calls+2011/6207322/story.html And one additional note on the matter, I would think the Liberals would do an internal investigation and make their Supporters List names and phone numbers more secure in future elections Yes, especially in this era of "Anonymous" and the like. It is interesting, I really don't see the CPC organizing something to that extent, maybe a group such as 'anonymous' perhaps, who else would have access to so many Liberal voter lists. I've seen and used the Conservative system, which does not have Liberal voter lists in it. It appears there is something larger at play here.
