guyser Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Sadly we're one of only a small number of nations that allow an abortion all the way up to the day of delivery. It's pretty barbaric. Over 30 countries allow this. Quote
olpfan1 Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Over 30 countries allow this. Name them Ive only read one country allows it up to date of birth (though no doctor would perform them THAT late) and that is Canada Quote
olpfan1 Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 I disagree. Even in Canada there's strong support amoung all Canadians that late term abortions should be restricted in some way. Can you post the proof (and not from a pro life poll) Quote
GostHacked Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Sadly we're one of only a small number of nations that allow an abortion all the way up to the day of delivery. It's pretty barbaric. Absolute nonsense. Quote
olpfan1 Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Absolute nonsense. whats nonsense? technically it is legal to have an abortion up until the day of delivery.. you just wont find a doctor who will perform one but it is legal and Canada IS the ONLY country in the world with no restrictions on abortion Quote
Smallc Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 (edited) but it is legal and Canada IS the ONLY country in the world with no restrictions on abortion Iceland, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, etc, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_law Edited February 22, 2012 by Smallc Quote

Smallc Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Illegal after a certain amount of weeks No evidence of that that I can see. Quote

Something about the viability of the feotus to live outside of the womb. Quote
Smallc Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 wiki needs to square their circles, obviously. Still, there are, if I remember correctly, other countries with no restrictions. Quote
Shady Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 I was under the impression that 3rd trimester abortions were illegal in canada. Unfortunately that's not the case. An unborn baby can be aborted right up until the estimated delivery date. Quote

Smallc Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Unfortunately that's not the case. An unborn baby can be aborted right up until the estimated delivery date. Because that happens so often. Quote
olpfan1 Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Unfortunately that's not the case. An unborn baby can be aborted right up until the estimated delivery date. Legally speaking can be but realistically speaking won't be which is the way it should be Quote
Shady Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Because that happens so often. Does that matter? Is it ok if it's infrequent? Quote
olpfan1 Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Because that happens so often. The only place that doctors will perform abortion that late is China http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1322601/China-forces-woman-abortion-EIGHT-months-breaching-child-policy.html Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Unfortunately that's not the case. An unborn baby can be aborted right up until the estimated delivery date. Agreed....a bitch and her puppies get more legal protections than an unborn baby in Canada. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
guyser Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Does that matter? Is it ok if it's infrequent? Is it worth knocking down 200 trees to attempt to re-write something that almost never if not never happens? Know your fight, guage accordingly. Quote
Shady Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Agreed....a bitch and her puppies get more legal protections than an unborn baby in Canada. Can't argue with that. It's a sad reflection of how extremist our abortion policy is. Is it worth knocking down 200 trees to attempt to re-write something that almost never if not never happens? Know your fight, guage accordingly. Why do 200 trees need to be knocked down? And I'd say that it absolutely is worth the effort to change such a barbaric allowance within the law, or in this case, lawlessness. It's basically infanticide. Quote
