Boges Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 At present, we segregate schools along geographic lines. Is that bad? Well to some parents who would rather their kids go to school's in "better" neighbourhoods I would assume they'd say yes. Quote
PIK Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 we could turn the catholic schools into public schools so there wouldn't be need to close them What we should do is have the public school boards run by the catholic school boards, they are more efficient. At the expense of student resources. I've been through both systems, that was my experience. It was clear as a bell. Quote

August1991 Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) Well to some parents who would rather their kids go to school's in "better" neighbourhoods I would assume they'd say yes.And my answer to them would be to move and buy a new house in the school district. The parents are "free to choose". Money? It's a question of priorities. --- In Canada, education is a local question. Thank God that Canada is a (respected) federal State, and thank God we have no central ministry/no federal department of Education. Edited December 31, 2011 by August1991 Quote
