What will Europe look like in a year?

I have no idea what is going to happen to Europe...Germany, looks like they want to control all of Europe...yes, this does sound familiar doesn't it? This time though they are doing it economically instead of with war

You have a German Finance Minister telling Britain they will dump the Pound and join the Euro sooner rather than later

Do you think Britain will have a referendum on leaving the E.U? Merkel said she won't even need Britain to introduce a tobin tax (that would cripple London) isn't that economic war?

You have leaders of countries resigning only to be replaced by people from the E.U

What is going on here? I know you people have a lot of theories

I think what happened was that they tried to make a common currency while still having different budgets. The US of Europe is a country but not a country. They should unite once and for all in order to make the EU into a real entity.

The global economy is failing so the banks are doing whatever they can to keep the ponzi scheme of an economy going. That is why both the Italian and Greek PM's were replaced with bankers.

These bail outs will do nothing to save the economy, all that is happening is the wealth of the people is being taken away and given to the banks. We live in a fascist world and nothing will change until people start standing up to the banks, until that happens, expect things to get worse.

yes they only went halfway it seems almost as if they never took into account worst case scenarios...but full unity is extremely difficult countries are understandably very protective of their individual cultures and want to control migration between eu countries...as a single entity some countries with attractive social programs would be overrun by the poor of the weaker countries...

war started by whom?...europeans know better than just about anyone the true horrors of war, and the germans are very pacifist... there's just no reason for a war...

if the eu collapses a few of the stronger nations will form a new economic organization excluding the financially inept...finland, germany, netherlands would be a starting point for a new strong stable economic union...

No reason for a war? they are threatening the sovereignty of nations that are on the fence about this united states of Europe...that seems reason enough to go to war

this strictly business, there is no threat, they have a choice....greece can agree to the rules required of them to get the bailout or they can leave the EU...it's no different than facing personal bankruptcy, do as the bank demands or they pull the rug out from underneath you...

I was talking about Germany threatening Britain that they don't need their consent to change the EU treaty which will affect Britain more than most countries in Europe

Sounds like a declaration of economic war to me

Yes, this is only leading one way which is to war... a lot of people disagree but if history tells us anything about the future it's not going to be good and Germany will become the enemy yet again

That's OK...the rest of the world knows exactly what to do....Germany's offense/defense ain't what it used to be!

Germany has been dealing a lot with Russia, China & Iran lately, add in France

I think those are the future axis of evil?

But of course expect the U.S to get involved when the war is half or nearly over like in world war 1 and 2

and then them claim victory

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/conservative/8901765/Boris-Johnson-warns-that-David-Camerons-bazooka-plan-will-wreck-democracy-in-EU.html

In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph the London Mayor hit out at Mr Cameron's call for the European Central Bank to deploy a "big bazooka" - effectively printing money - to help bail out the stricken economies in the south of the continent.

Mr Johnson also attacked plans, backed by the British government, for the 17 eurozone countries to share closer fiscal links, making them more unified on tax and spending.

"What I don't think you can do, is just pretend that you can create an economic government of Europe, effectively run by Germany," the Mayor added.

He described the replacement of elected leaders in Greece and Italy with governments led by technocrats as "completely mad" and warned that if the rest of the EU went ahead with a plan to impose a "Tobin" tax on financial transaction, even without British participation, it would be seen as a "hostile act" because it would still hit so many deals in the City of London.

i don't think you have anything other than a very superficial grasp of history...there is no chance of war, none....

That's right....you guys can start another half ass war for Queen and Empire...and we will finish it, just like before.

Bingo. Not just different budgets but different domestic economies. When a government wrecks the economy currency devaluation is basically medicine. It encourages domestic production, it encourages exports and it discourages imports, and it forces governments to reign in spending.

These currency unions are a dangerous thing in this regard, because as you say you have a common currency but not fully integrated economies. Greece cant allow devaluation because its on the euro, and governments and international bankers are putting intense pressure on them to keep dumping borrowed money onto the problem.

Im worried that they will try to do the same thing in North America.

The government is not in control, the banksters are.

Even if Germany manages to bail out other countries in the EU they are still just increasing their debt, depending on the investment markets to come through. There is a group of rich already in control of the world's economy. We're just waiting for them to pull the plug on the rest of us.

There was only 21 years between the most horrific war of all time, which Europeans learned and "knew better," and the next horrific war of all time. The Germans are very pacifist until they're not and they lack military power until they don't. The last horrific war of all time had an economic situation at it's heart, so it is no wonder the concern over massive depression in Europe has people a little nervous.
