did anyone else smirk or giggle reading this

The Canadian government agreed. “There is no plausible peaceful use” for Iran’s uranium-enrichment program, the submission declared. “… Iran’s nuclear activities can only be understood in the context of a nuclear weapons development effort.”

? electric generation and research? could that be one?

what does this say of canada's enrichment activities?

is there more than we know going on at darlington?

are haprer et al assembling a-bombs for the coming days?

Was nuclear physics your major? Or was your only science political science?

Iran is not enriching just enough for a few power reactors. They are enriching enough for a ZILLION power reactors!

Which is the amount you';d need to build more than a few nuclear bombs...

it isn;t howmmuch it is what quality... good reason to stockpile is notnhaving refining facilities in the future.

it is the grade of refinement not how much. - low grade uranium has many uses a bombs is not one of them. high grade uranium takes a lot longer to make, and requires better centrifuges than reactor cake

Financial terrorism to be commited on Iran.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2011/11/21/pol-iran-sanctions-canada-us.html

Britain's Treasury chief George Osborne was first out of the gate, announcing that all UK financial institutions have ceased business relationships and transactions with Iranian banks, including the Central Bank of Iran.

Osborne says it's the first time the British government has cut an entire country's banking sector off from the U.K.'s financial sector.

Expect Canada and the US to follow suit on this one. This will go down in a similar style to Libya where their money and gold stolen from them and given to these western backed 'rebels'.

Follow the money.

Better centifuges? They also have a zillion more of those than they need for "reactor cake"! Why do you think someone hit their centifuges with the Stuxnet virus? William, wake up and take a look around! Don't make up your mind first and then ignore what you don't want to contradict your premise!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuxnet

"Different variants of Stuxnet targeted five Iranian organizations,[9] with the probable target widely suspected to be uranium enrichment infrastructure in Iran;[10][11] Symantec noted in August 2010 that 60% of the infected computers worldwide were in Iran.[12] Siemens stated on 29 November that the worm has not caused any damage to its customers,[13] but the Iran nuclear program, which uses embargoed Siemens equipment procured clandestinely, has been damaged by Stuxnet"

Geez, I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't get out much!

It is notnhow many it is the type. Don't you know anyything about nuclear physic? Do some reading on centrifugres and refinement and you will realize one centrifuge does not fit all.

Also it is not just the banks.. it is all financial ties.

using that type of centrifuge t takes a long time to enrich sufficent material, The leap from 20% purity they are doing to 90% is a big jump. It would take them a cery long time to get enough plutonium for a bomb also combing used fuel rods.

My god this tech is some 70 years old now, they can have iphones but no nuclear power?

*edit just read how they pgraded their old 70's fuges to newer models weve been seeing ithe oics, still could be better. still gonna take time.

** edit, they seemed to have upgraded in 2010 too..

You think terrorism always comes with an explosion? How about an implosion?

How about just terror? Sanctions may present a hardship, but hardly invoke terror; you know, a state of intense panic and fear? "Financial terrorism" is a ridiculous concept.

Iran has been subject to sanction for many years. Frankly these have become a PR stunt. At the end of the day they won' hurt the regime but just ordinary people.

Hey does anyone here remember Oliver North,Ronald Reagan and the Contras?

I wonder if there is a connection between the upcoming American election and the current Iranian dispute?

The timing seems to fit.

Instead of starting another thread on the subject:

Iran threatens to bomb Turkey if U.S. or Israel attacks its nuclear installations Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2066959/Iran-threatens-bomb-Turkey-U-S-Israel-attack-nuclear-installations.html#ixzz1exfQsjS1

There you go………an attack on a NATO member, that shares a common boarder with Iran, will trigger a response from the NATO membership (That‘s us)………..For the record, Turkey, on her own, could give Iran a proverbial curb stomping……….the optics of this statement by a senior Iranian military official, are, to be blunt, retarded.

Actually if the US attacks Iran first then I believe Iran would be justified in defending itself. If the attack came from Turkey then would Canada be obligated to defend another NATO country that "started" war?

That’s saying the US attacks Iran initially………which I doubt…….I think it will be the Israelis on their own hook. As for your second question, I also doubt Turkey would allow any potential attack on Iran to be staged out of it’s territory, much like their refusal during the Iraq war……With that said, Israeli and Turkish militaries have a very close relationship, in some cases, more so than Israel has with the United States.

As suggested by the report, if Israel attacks Iran, I’ve no doubt a US led force in the Persian Gulf would be running interference for various flag oil tankers, but if the Iranians attack Turkey in response, NATO involvement is inevitable.
