What? I said their religion is crazy. It was created by a con man in recent history. It's based on a recent sham, rather than a very old and storied ones.

Wow...this get's better and better. Now all Mormons have a "crazy" religion.

Just because someone thinks different from you o doesn't mean they are crazy.

It has nothing to do with that. I don't think that most members of the NDP or CPC are crazy. I don't think that Mitt Romney or John Huntsman are crazy. I don't think that Newt Gingrich is crazy.

Because mormon beliefs are on top of those things. I'm against all religion influencing policy. I don't care if people practice it...in fact I support their right to do so.

So your against the USA constitution, one of the most influential documents in western civilization?

Honestly, it isn't as if I'm saying anything new here. You can find a great deal of reading material from many sources. US politics is in a crazy place right now, because the mainstream of the right wing is crazy. If the 99% rallies gain much traction, you might have a pretty good point about the other side being crazy too. Not yet though.

I think it has to do with your age. Should we think that people under the age of 25 are "crazy" for the things they do or believe?

What?

Oh the shout out to your "man in the sky" in it. Or do you think atheists cooked it up.

Well, there are many arguments that the US founding fathers weren't in fact very religious, but I'm not sure you're understanding. The US Constitution may have a shout out to God, but those aren't the things that make it good or influential. I don't like O Canada because it asks God to keep our land.

Yes, it was written by "crazy" people...just ask King George!

Hah, you just used crazy and didn't refer to the Mad King (George) in the same sentence.

Ah but it shows that great men can be religious, yet still accomplish great things.

Yes, they can...when they don't let religion stand in the way. That's why people like Michelle Bachman, Sarah Palin, Rick Perry, and Rick Santorum scare so many people.

Even Mr. 9-9-9, who doesn't believe gay people are anything but a figment of their own imaginations....scare many of us.

Despite the good parts of the US Constitution, I don't think that we should generally be using 18th century ideas on God as our template going forward. Science can explain much more now.

And that's the Jon Stewart types of the media world ramming that down our throat. Do I know that Bachman, Palin, Perry, and Santorum are going to impose their religious doctrine on the US? Do you?

If you were to watch the entire Piers Morgan interview, herman cain may be wrong when he says that being gay is a choice, however he made it quite clear that he isn't going to bash them for "making that choice". Looks like he could care less about the whole thing.

What are they ramming down our throat?

Do I know that Bachman, Palin, Perry, and Santorum are going to impose their religious doctrine on the US? Do you?

Is it worth the risk?

unless of course they bring it out in public, or try to get married.

It's more like you worshiping them in American media...it's not mandatory to do so.

Is it worth the risk?

Yes....America is all about risk. That's what makes it different from Canada.

Same gender marriage is not recognized by US federal law (DOMA), signed by President Bill Clinton!

What their idea of "cool" is. Right now its bashing religious people, bankers, and suggesting that right wing = bad.

Canadians, Americans, and Brits have been taking that risk for hundreds of years.

Cain flat out said he wasn't going to bash them on it.

No, actually. Religious people, right now, have one to the forefront, and bankers are being attacked from both sides.

To a certain degree, maybe.

Cain flat out said he wasn't going to bash them on it.

That doesn't really say anything. His belief (and his thoughts on the unemployed) really says it all.

The site might be biased, but as I say where there's smoke there's fire...

Bankers aren't really attacked by the right, they're bashing the gov't for giving out bailout money to failing institutions.

If you would watch the interview, he gives his reason for his thoughts on the unemployed. If he can get out from being po', why can't others?

So because he thinks being gay is a choice, he's automatically going to bring the hammer down on them? That's like saying because Paul Martin was a catholic and knowing the church's stance on homosexuality that Paul Martin was going to drop the hammer on gay people; we both know the opposite happened.

Of course Hollywood hates Conservatives. That's a different thing entirely from what John Stewart, who constantly berates Democrats, does.

Bankers aren't really attacked by the right, they're bashing the gov't for giving out bailout money to failing institutions.

An equally stupid thing to attack.

If you would watch the interview, he gives his reason for his thoughts on the unemployed. If he can get out from being po', why can't others?

 Yes, why can't all these other people do this? Life isn't like that. If there are jobs (there aren't right now), people should work, but they can't all become rich. That couldn't even work in reality.

Again, Paul Martin wasn't in the same category when it comes to religion.

Very astute observation, and this is why Cain has vaulted to the front...for now. His refusal to wallow in self-pity and seek all answers from government is very appealing rhetoric to some Republicans and Independents.

Jon Stewart bashes democrats for not being left enough. Hell he was po'd at Obama for his broken promises.

Your missing Cain's point. His point was that the government isn't going to get you out of being poor, that's something a person has to do on their own, and if you want out of it bad enough, you'll figure a way out of it.

He still believed in God and was a catholic was he?

Right now they are all stumbling over each other to try to come off as right wing fundamentalist bible thumpers to appeal to the extreme of the gop base. Soon as the nomination process is over and the winner has to try to appeal to the broader population instead, they will present themselves entirely differently. Politics is lies. There are plenty of examples of them doing a complete about face on many issues.

I like Cain, he seems the most honest of them all and doesn't try to pander and give the safe politically correct answer as most of the others. Refreshing, and a big part of his appeal.

Most politicians do lie and spin and give the safe bullcrap answer. Yet most people don't like politicians because they are this kind of lying insincere slime. If more politicians could instead try to be honest while also straddling a line of not completely offending everyone will ridiculous comments and to be professional, maybe people would actually get behind a real leader. There have been some honest ones out there, but most of them are too incompetent to get anywhere.
