William Ashley Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) Ok, so I've been anxiously awaiting for the axe to fall, but things seem to go really slow and nothing happens. It is almost as if it is still a minority government, except for the committees that actually have a purpose. What legislation is getting rolled out. When will the Senate be snuffed? When will more criminals be made? And gst to 0%? And the deficit to 0 plan unveiled? and whatever else was on the agenda I've forgotten. When are they going to do that stuff now that they have their "MAJORITY" is it only more back to work legislation because of collective bargaining in store? Whats gonna happen in the fall? Really are they gonna do it? There are 15 days in a row coming up between the 19th of September and the 7th of October or will that be all syria? Isn't that enough time to implement a 20 year old strategy, or do things need to be thought out more? Did someone not think to write those things down? Edited August 31, 2011 by William Ashley Quote I was here.
Bonam Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 I predict business as usual. They might finally move on scrapping the gun registry before the end of the year. Quote
Boges Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 I like how you equate putting violent criminals into prison to "making more criminals" That would tell me enough about your political bias. Multiple time violent offenders should sent to love and kindness camp and not prison. I think they want to get rid of the Long Gun Registry. They do probably want to cut spending and try to return to a balanced budget. Which I support. There was no real incentive in the CPC blowing their wad over the summer by revealing much of their agenda. They already ran on their budget in the May election. What I do predict is that the Opposition NDP will make an absolute fool of themselves without their messianic leader. Quote

capricorn Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Ok, so I've been anxiously awaiting for the axe to fall, but things seem to go really slow and nothing happens. Oh my, a Conservative majority for over 3 months and Harper hasn't issued one solitary dictatorial proclamation. I guess it's safe to come out from under our beds now. Wots (sic) gonna happen now? Well I guess Nycole Turmel will get to practice her English in front of a captive audience and NDP leadership hopefuls will compete for the nightly news sound bites. bush_cheney2004 Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Harper wants to put lots of non violent criminals in prison as well. PM Harper should put all non violent criminals in prison. Canada is soft on crime and needs to change it's entire approach to "restorative justice". Hug-a-thug has not worked, and all Canadian voters should support efforts by the CPC to get tough on crime. This is the only way that Canada can stop from sinking into a criminal abyss. Canadians should not vote for any other party. (Christ, this is funnier than I thought.) Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Canada Post locked out its employees, so Harper stepped in forced the employees to take a reduced settlement with the company and cut the pay and benefits of all new employees. William Ashley Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Posted September 1, 2011 (edited) When the country is. No one told me. Wasn't the election last spring? You know in regards to Canada, they could like you know just move here. It'd probably cost less. You know if they move 30 million of their over 200 million inhabitants they would probably win an election. It would probably cost less than a war too. It would cost say 300 Billion a year to support 30 million americans in Canada.. given a 25% popular vote majority in Canada that amounts to say 1/4 that cost at say 75 billion / year... less than Iraq. http://zfacts.com/p/447.html Why bomb when you can just move house? The 'invasion' would likely take less time than Iraq or Afganistan.. what is it 5 or 7 years for citizenship? http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-usa-citizens.html Wow 3 years only.. a three year invasion of Canada... A Canadian Permanent Resident may become a Canadian Citizen and receive a Canadian Passport after three years. You could just train to meet entry requiresments all your unemployed people... what is that 9% plus relocate a chunk of your civil service and military (this needs to be done for the new border security takeover anyway..) So say 20 million unemployed and their families relocated benefits to Canada and a chunk of civil service and military boom. 4 year takeover. Not a single shot fired.
