RNG Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 Arabs do suck at all forms of conventional warfare. If there are pregnant women to ambush (or other Arabs), then they have a chance at pulling off a victory. Is this an Arab trait or Muslim? It seems to me for all the bitching the Afghans do about NATO activities killing civilians, how many have the Taliban killed? All those areas are so tribal, and they all hate each other. I don't have enough history knowledge to figure out how the Muslims conquered up to half of Spain in the day. But it's been all downhill since. Quote The government can't give anything to anyone without having first taken it from someone else.

DogOnPorch Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) For context...some of the best 'modern' soldiers are: The Finns circa 1939-1944 The SS USMC & Airborne Canadian volunteers...sure beats the farm. Gurkhas The IJA/IJN Serbians WW1 The NVA 1954-1979 Some of the worst: Italians Russian pre 1943 French post 1916 pre 1944 Anything African not South African. Sandy MacNab Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Why is it that whenever Palestinians try to assert themselves it is regarded as a threat to Israel? Why is it when they stand up for themselves it is considered bad by everyone else? If the Palestinians one day was able to bowl over Israel, would any of you Isreali supporters say 'Well that is the spoils of war'. or would most of you just sit here and cry about it, saying it was wrong? I'd guess I would be forced to believe in magic. One million Palestinians with AK47s would be hard pressed to bowl over 500,000 starving Somalia women with spears. Quote
Remiel Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 Either way, the Mufti was in the war feet first. If the Mufti was so important and influential and legitimate leader of the Palestinians, why was he immediately replaced by Jordan after they occupied Jerusalem in 1948? The guy who replaced him should have Grand Mufti in his place from the beginning, had the British not frakked up the appointment in the first place. Quote

He had Abdullah I assassinated. His personal influence was in decline post-1948 due to his failure to deal with the Jews as promised. In 1964 his nephew took up the cause. DogOnPorch Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 (edited) Saladin was Kurdish. There wasn't such a distinction in the pre-Islamic Levant. Edited May 25, 2011 by DogOnPorch Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
Remiel Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 There wasn't such a distinction in the pre-Islamic Levant. So now you are trying to tell me that Iranians can qualify as Arabs? The Kurdish people, or Kurds (Kurdish: کورد Kurd), are an Iranic people native to the Middle East... Quote

Remiel Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 Iraqi, actually...but those places and distinctions are a modern construct. You keep saying that, but you do not offer an alternative account of how these ethnic differences came to be. Given that Israel is being forced to fight with both hands tied behind it's back there's a legitimate argument. Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).
RNG Posted May 25, 2011 Author Report Posted May 25, 2011 Given that Israel is being forced to fight with both hands tied behind it's back there's a legitimate argument. On what basis do you say Israel is forced to fight with both hands tied behind their back? It seems to me, with all the arms support the US gives Israel, not to mention the political backing, they have a significant advantage. (I hate the Palestinians as much. They are both totally wrong IMHO.) Quote The government can't give anything to anyone without having first taken it from someone else.
