Absolutely unbelievable. What's wrong with making money? Go write a huge fat check to the government then because that flat screen TV that you have - you know that one? It's not fair. I strongly believe you should give sell that TV, give it to the government to help subsidize the poor.

Would you be OK (and if you say you would be, that's pure BS), if we hiked your income tax by 3%? Clearly Canadians have it better than those in say, Asia, so clearly you should be taxed more. Would you vote for this party?

And do tell me, how does the government truly help the poor? You're basically saying, AP, you make too much, I deserve a 2% tax reduction in my income because how dare you make so much. I deserve more. #entitled.

Also, I work much harder than you. I fly out Sunday night, get home Saturday at around 1am. I work about 80 hours a week. So kindly, bugger off when you make statements like that. There are 14 or so people in this country who can do what I do at my level. So let me be entitled then. I deserve my pay, my perks, and my benefits. If you feel like you can do what I do, go apply for it.

Otherwise, supply and demand works. If all you can do is shovel dirt, then one can expect to make minimum wage. Too bad. Be accountable for your actions and career decisions.

This sort of attitude is why I can be a prick. It blows my mind that someone thinks I make too much money. I used to donate quite a bit of money, now I'm bitter. If the Liberals come to power, my donations will go to $0. And my donations go directly to the "poor", not to the middle class. You're referencing the poor, but you really mean you. You mean that you deserve a break. Come on.

You keep puffing your chest about your perks and your pay. I doubt anybody's really interested.

All of those things only affect me. My point was the self righteousness on the left is appalling.

My views are my own and not those of my employer.

Not quite as appalling as self aggrandizement.

This is the internet. For your statement to hold true, that would mean I worry what you guys think of me. Read: I don't really.

Let's do a flat tax. I'm ALL for a flat income tax.

Clearly you do, because you just apologized for some pretty questionable behavior a week or so ago.

Yeah for saying things a certain way. I 100% mean what I posted in this thread.

What you've managed to do is completely derail the thread with unverifiable claims as to your astonishing wealth and hard work.

My experience is the louder someone brags, the less likely it is they're on the up and up. You can argue a point about taxation without proclaiming "I have this awesome crib, man, because I'm sooooo rich."

Absolutely unbelievable. What's wrong with making money?

Notthing, if that's what you want to do. Also, nothing wrong with making less money, if that's what someone wants to do.

You're basically saying, AP, you make too much, I deserve a 2% tax reduction in my income because how dare you make so much. I deserve more. #entitled.

There's no "how dare you make so much involved", that's just your inner "victim" talking. Harper's tax policies have benefited the higher income earners for the past ten years, and done little or nothing for everyone else. Were you busy pitching a fit? I'm guessing not - no doubt you just looked down your nose at those who make less, and assumed they didn't deserve all the goodies you were getting.

That's the life you chose, and your company is willing to pay you whatever. Good on you. I don't care, nor does anyone else here - somehow you think we should, judging by the number of times you bring it up. Do you feel inadequate in some way, and you hope your wallet is going to make that feeling go away? It ain't working. You just look like an idiot.

If all you can do is shovel dirt, then one can expect to make minimum wage.

Dirt shovelers and other 'low skilled' people keep you humming. The receptionist in your office, the admin clerks, the janitorial staff - what would you do without them? The people who move our stuff around, serve the food in the restaurant, stock the shelves in the stores - you gonna do all that shit yourself? Get a grip, and consider the fact that of all these people, you are probably among the least important to the successful functioning of society. I'm guessing all your important and high priced "skills" would be useless if the power went off.

Too bad. Be accountable for your actions and career decisions.

Yes, you be responsible for your actions and career decisions. YOU decided you wanted to pursue the 80-hour work week, no time at home, make the big bucks -- and end up in a higher tax bracket. You think you have such a hard life, OMG, I'm not going to be able to save $10,000 tax-free a year now! Damn those low-income earners who barely make $10,000 a year -- it must be their fault!

This sort of attitude is why I can be a prick. It blows my mind that someone thinks I make too much money.

We could care less how much money you make. We could care less about how much income tax you pay. But just like you are too happy to take the TFSA increase and the income split we are happy to have a break on our personal income tax. Whether you pay more, or less, or the same is completely irrelevant.

And take some responsibility: "other people's attitudes" aren't why you are being a prick

I used to donate quite a bit of money, now I'm bitter. If the Liberals come to power, my donations will go to $0. And my donations go directly to the "poor", not to the middle class.

Oh, dear, what shall we do ... quick, call Trudeau -- we must cancel the tax hike, or AP will stop giving to charity! The horror!

You're referencing the poor, but you really mean you. You mean that you deserve a break. Come on.

Damn right I deserve a break. None of Harper's tax breaks did SFA for me, because I'm a single female who doesn't earn those high wages.

The left's sense of entitlement is something I took away from this election.

When I made $45k a year as an intern I maxed out the $5k in my TFSA. $46K IIRC is the median income of a Canadian. If I maxed it out as an intern, then I sure should be able to max out my TFSA if I were in a relationship.

The sense from the left that TFSA's are so hard to max out. Bullshit, is all I have to say. Your guys sense of entitlement is appalling. If you can't max out $10k a year in TFSA, you're doing something wrong.

Have a nice day, I'm out, and I'm sure, like the lefties you are, you'll have a last word. It's sad, to me, given my own journey, how you settle on not breaking six figures. That's been my goal since entering the education system, and I did end up succeeding.

To those naysayers who say I'm exaggerating, I've already said this. Tell a mod to send me their email address and i'll reply back. Within a second of my reply, they'll know I'm not bullshitting. My employer does not pay out salaries less than 6 figures, and that's easily verifiable.

Not one person has taken me up on that offer. All I get from the left is...OMG, late twenties, bullshit you're making that much $.

I said "tell a mod". I don't want anyone here with my email address, other than a moderator.

Maybe you can, oh I dunno, behave a bit more like the adult you claim to be, and try to debate without claiming your astonishing wealth. It strains credibility and in no way helps your case.

This is going to be my last post talking to you about this. The last time I called you out I got a bit of a warning about it, so I don't want to violate any forum rules. Suffice it to say that if you continue this behavior, you can be assured I at least won't be responding.

Likewise. Making less than $200,000 year is not astonishing wealth. The fact that you think it is, well that's simply worrisome.

i guess it's because I make too much money. I just rolled my eyes again. Halve my salary (tax), and assume (rightly so) that I live in an urban center.

I do not make that much money to the point where I'm called "wealthy". Am I fortunate? Yes. Am I well off? Sure. Am I WEALTHY? Far from it.

The left's sense of entitlement is something I took away from this election.

The right's sense of victimhood is what I'm getting, loud and clear. Was already aware of their complete lack of empathy or compassion for people who don't happen to make six figures, for whatever reason.

To those naysayers who say I'm exaggerating, I've already said this. Tell a mod to send me their email address and i'll reply back. Within a second of my reply, they'll know I'm not bullshitting. My employer does not pay out salaries less than 6 figures, and that's easily verifiable.

Because we don't care. You can make millions, or you can make pennies - nobody here cares. Lots of money isn't going to make you more credible. Lack of money only makes you less credible to someone like yourself.

Have a nice day, I'm out,

Bye.

I think I'll just follow TB's lead.

The joy that one can measure's one financial success by the dollar value in one's pocketbook is priceless. Enjoy.

No one comes on MLW to convince someone else of one's views to convince them that they are right
