But destroying Germany as expediently as possible was justified. The American bombing campaign was far more successful than the British and Canadians re: strategic results. On a clear day, the Yanks could drop a 5000lb bomb load within meters of its target using its amazing bombsight. The Brits and Canadians had a horrible accuracy rate....thus the 1000+ bomber raids and fire bombs to get results. I've also watched the adulation of Hitler by the Germans, the films of denial by the German people of the incredible devastation the Nazis hailed upon the Jews (and homosexuals and the challenged Germans) Hamburg & Dresden were necessary as punishment for the Germans in general for allowing the Nazi scourge. In that way it could be shown that the bombs killed only the Palestinians that were actively engaged in war or that the explosives were making an unauthorized mistake and that the innocent casualties were "collateral damage by rogue explosives" and, in the same way that the school children killed by Palestinian weapons were errors in weapon intent. In war it is the innocent who suffer the most no matter what color of skin or religious belief/. Quote
