Topaz Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 The Tory president of the Simcoe-Grey has quit, along with two board memebers. The problem is the way Helena Guergis was tossed and no real reason has be given to her. The people around her area are still peeved and Helena may get enough votes to put her back in Ottawa. http://www.theenterprisebulletin.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3036961 Quote

That is what matters. If the vote is split in half then perhaps there is enough momentum to give a third challenger a chance. Edited March 22, 2011 by William Ashley Quote I was here.

All of them have been VERY interesting and extremely though-provoking. You don't seem obsessed with Harper at all.... Moonbox Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Though I must say that I'm having a bit of trouble fiquring out what "hilariously poorly spoken" means in english... The grammar police! Ha! Well, let me explain. Hilariously, in this sentence, is describing the subsequent adjective, which in turn is describing the word 'spoken'. In English, when you say, "He's well-spoken." That usually means "He's articulate and speaks intelligently." Poorly spoken, on the other hand, would mean the opposite. In this case, it's also funny, thus I added hilariously. Basically what I'm saying is that it's really funny seeing all the dumb things you post. My personal favorite was when you told us that the amount of tory/ndp threads was indicative of how afraid those groups were of an election, when you all by yourself probably post more than half of this forum combined. You make me laugh buddy! Quote "A man is no more entitled to an opinion for which he cannot account than he is for a pint of beer for which he cannot pay" - Anonymous

You make me laugh buddy! "Usage note The traditional distinction between amount and number is that amount is used with mass or uncountable nouns ( the amount of paperwork; the amount of energy ) and number with countable nouns ( a number of songs; a number of days ). Although objected to, the use of amount instead of number with countable nouns occurs in both speech and writing, especially when the noun can be considered as a unit or group ( the amount of people present; the amount of weapons ) or when it refers to money ( the amount of dollars paid; the amount of pennies in the till ). " Yeah, it occurs, but the grammar police notice it, and cringe, every time. Edited March 23, 2011 by Molly Quote "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!" — L.
