Michael Hardner Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Yup, my top three as well. SCTV was hugely influential down in the States. Kids In The Hall is probably the best post-Python sketch show ever made. Oh, ToddBrother... perhaps you have not seen Mr. Show ? Michael Hardner Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Agreed...but a cool ship. Agreed... in an upside-down egg carton kind of way. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
Michael Hardner Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Full disclosure: Mr. Show is American. "The Audition" is simply a classic sketch. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner

DogOnPorch Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Why is that guy wearing a cowboy hat in space? -k Each dome of the spacecraft held a different 'civilization'...the protagonist's was a 19th century type farming community. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

So one week they might be in a Little House On The Prairie dome, and the next week they could be in an urban ghetto dome where everybody speaks jive, and the week after they might be in an Amazonian dome ruled by women or a feudal dome where people wander around with swords and armor? And each week they have to solve a mystery or convince people to get along? -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)

GostHacked Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 They don't have that anymore? That was my favorite part about living in Ottawa. -k They have it all over most networks now. City TV shows a lot of skin after 10PM. Softcore porn. However, I do like Corner Gas, Fringe. Quote Google : Webster Griffin Tarpley, Gerald Celente, Max Keiser ohm on soundcloud.com
guyser Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 There is no doubt in my mind that the best TV shows in Canada are produced in Montreal in French. That may be true....however It is not only my opinion, the ratings are there to prove it. ....that isnt true. Ratings for a french tv programme shown in French areas will get the high share, but oevrall audience will not be there. Case in point is... But my favourite example is "Un gars, une fille" (starring Guy A. Lepage who now animates the Sunday evening talk show that has a higher rating than Hockey Night in Canada). Quote
treehugger Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 I know no one will probably agree with me, but I did enjoyed Road to Avonlea because I also liked the Waltons. It both shows, showed what life was like before TV and the good and the bad of those times. I agree with you. I have watched all of the Anne movies. Emily of New Moon was good too. I really loved the Waltons even though it wasn't Canadian. Quote
treehugger Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Heartland is a really good show and has been renewed again for the fourth year. Rick Mercer is the best. Mantracker is a reality show but it is enjoyable and he's nice to look at. Republic of Doyle is good. Hockey game -- Curling The history channel.ca used to be really good but they are slipping. Wind at My Back, was the one of the best series that was on Canadian tv. Quote
Wild Bill Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Gee, is no one going to mention "The Trouble With Tracy"? DogOnPorch Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Gee, is no one going to mention "The Trouble With Tracy"? How about 'Coming Up Rosie' with Dan Aykroyd? Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
