Shady Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Classic race-baiting from another Dem in congress, worried about losing her seat. This type of talk reminds me of Parizeau blaming the referendum loss on "the ethnic vote." Watch out Latinos, the Vietnamese and the Republicans are coming to take away your seat! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyTDAHdZFNk&feature=player_embedded Quote
Shady Posted October 15, 2010 Author Report Posted October 15, 2010 Wow, I'm suprised such race-baiting didn't recieve a little more attention. Perhaps it's only newsworthy when it's a Republican? Oh well. Here's some more interesting language from Democrats on the campaign trail. I'm pretty sure that calling your constituents rednecks isn't the best strategy. Although, I didn't think calling your opponent a whore is a good strategy. However Democrats haven't seem to realize that either. Quote

Shady Posted October 15, 2010 Author Report Posted October 15, 2010 And another anecdote drops into the ether... Right. I forgot that they're only anecdotes when Democrats/Liberals are involved. But if it involves Republicans, or Rob Ford, it's a big story, and/or a media firestorm. Quote

And you're a big Ford supporter too, so what are you saying ? Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner

I think I'd like to see some evidence. It doesn't sound like our man Michael at all. Quote As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand. --Josh Billings

punked Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 I thought a bunch of Women's groups in Cali came out with one statement "If you are calling Meg Whitman a political whore you would right on the money." Hmmmm interesting. Quote

In a related matter, I kinda think Michelle Obama and Nancy Pelosi are whores. Political whores of course. I think if Palin and Hilary taught us anything it is when you start yelling "I AM A WOMEN, I AM A WOMEN, TREAT ME RIGHT, TREAT ME RIGHT" you already lost the election. If someone called Pelosi a whore she would eat them for breakfast and Republicans call Obama a whore all the time Shady the only reason you have a problem with it is you think their political hay to be made here. You know what Huey Long said: "That Son of a Bitch wont step foot in my State and when I call him an SOB I am not intending it as an insult it is merely the circumstances of his birth." Yes no one should be called names period but we live in the real world not Shady's pretend land and the voters will decide if the word whore is enough not to send the qualified smart Candidate into the governor's mansion or not. I have a feeling they think Republicans are just that bad they wont chance it again. Quote

kimmy Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 I thought a bunch of Women's groups in Cali came out with one statement "If you are calling Meg Whitman a political whore you would right on the money." Hmmmm interesting. It sounds like this is what you're referring to: The National Organization for Women seems to have changed their tack on hate speech against women Thursday, as the president of the California chapter called California GOP gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman a "political whore" after having earlier called for Jerry Brown, her Democratic opponent, to fire any staffer who used the word.California NOW President Patty Bellasalma told Talking Points Memo in an interview Thursday that "Meg Whitman could be described as 'a political whore.' Yes, that's an accurate statement." Sounds like Patty Bellasalma ought to fire her own ass. <alex>Context.</alex> <contestant>What is missing from Shady's post?<contestant> <alex>Correct</alex> The context, apparently, is that Whitman was called "a whore" because she plans to exempt police and firefighters from reductions to pension plans, yes? I would say that that is pretty tenuous logic. When Belinda Stronach crossed the floor, the accusation that she had whored herself created a fire-storm of controversy, even though in context it was quite applicable. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
Shady Posted October 17, 2010 Author Report Posted October 17, 2010 I still can't believe that for most of you, Loretta Sanchez telling Hispanics that the Vietnamese are trying to take away their seat is acceptable political discourse. I'm seriously in awe of the rank hypocrisy. However, your silence speaks volumes.
