Topaz Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Since the G8-G20 meetings are in a few weeks, the OPP was alerted to a man, 40-50 years of age, European descent, walks with a limp and has a missing finger on his right hand. He bought 60 25 kilograms or 1500 kilograms of fertilizer in Lincoln On, May 26th and didn`t sign for it because he gave the impression he was a regular customer. Now, I would think that Vineland Growers, would know if he was a regular customer and I would think they could be in a lot of trouble if this turns out to be a terrorist act. Quote
eyeball Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Well they've got a billion dollars invested in security near the region and the most likely target (assuming the fertilizer wasn't for some big grow-op). With all that money and resources they should have found him by now you'd think. Quote I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh fanatical criminal
Oleg Bach Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 The media is taking a very Americanized approach to this potential problem - they are spreading panic as if they are frinking fatherland security. The guy will be picked up within the next 24 hours - don't worry so much. Quote
Oleg Bach Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 He is missing some teeth and what is left in his mouth are crooked. He has an accent - probably the aging son of some old Nazi...he is short and he will be found...funny - it's not a Muslim - and it is not some young anarchist - he's probably just some old jerk that is running a huge string of grow-ops...or maybe just a common farmer who wrote them a bad cheaque ...who really knows...I just don't like this media approach like 9 11 is coming to CANADA- or it might be some sinister plot to give the G summits some extra importance and credibility? God knows that these summit people need all the attention they can get - they are a very mediocre band of guys..real non-charismatic types...time will tell what is really going on - Perhaps the toothless shortie wants to blow up the artifical lake? lol Quote
Topaz Posted June 9, 2010 Author Report Posted June 9, 2010 I heard the Tories saying now... the money was spent on security is necessary..... see the Royal Bank being attacked and now fertilizer being bought up in large quantities. If and only IF, they don't find the guy and nothing happens, then maybe the Tories pulled a GW or Cheney scam to make us think the spending was worth it. Although, I sure in hell wouldn't want to be in Toronto those days. Quote
William Ashley Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) Since the G8-G20 meetings are in a few weeks, the OPP was alerted to a man, 40-50 years of age, European descent, walks with a limp and has a missing finger on his right hand. The guys description has me thinking maybe his first test worked, and he is back for more. My gosh what is 1000 KG of fertilizer going to do? Heck I'm sure the military has like planes and tanks and RGP's and stuff if some speeding truck is going around somewhere it'll be picked up pretty fast. This is a non event. Some contigency plan should accommodate - I think this is rattling the woodwork for worms and thermites. This is where it is at http://how2dostuff.blogspot.com/2006/01/how-to-make-thermite.html Thermite is way better than nitrate. Hopefully this posting isn't another $8 onto the security costs. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3470353339056687501# OK the ammonia nitrate looks more dangerous than the thermite, but the thermite looks cooler. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSbvJXnJYX8&feature=related so the last one is 20kg... multiply that by 50. still not really scarry but its a start I guess. My guess is even before the first checkpoint they will have remote covert surviallance system in place for any vehciles even approaching the first checkpoint. Meanwhile in TO likely the same deal BUT it is just another reason why it is incredibly STUPID to have this thing in the heart of toronto - REALLY bad planning. Sad part being it'd be more likely to whipe out political protestors than officials. human sheilds much. Edited June 9, 2010 by William Ashley Quote I was here.
Oleg Bach Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 They said it was happening in Muskoka...why did they not stick to the plan and keep things simple and safe - I guess impressing everyone is more important than getting things done. Quote

That's the next town to the East of Beamsville... Not alot of Jihadist's in rural Niagara... Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!
Michael Hardner Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 http://www.680news.com/news/local/article/64253--police-find-buyer-of-potential-bomb-making-fertilizer-say-it-was-for-gardening Everyone panic - he is a gardener from Toronto. This G20 thing is really starting to get irritating. Working in downtown Toronto, there are pointless and poorly written memorandums flying around from work building security firms justifying their existence. Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
Shwa Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/820913--recovered-fertilizer-quashes-g20-bomb-fears?bn=1 Recovered fertilizer quashes G20 bomb fears There were "fears?" I wasn't feaful were you? The dramatic search for the mystery man who bought about 1,500 kilograms of fertilizer — enough to make a major bomb — ended late Wednesday after he contacted investigators. Was there low, quick paced music in the background while they searched? Did Tom Cruise show up to save the day? Did James Earle Jones narrate? Nope: RCMP’s anti-terrorist unit took over the search for the man, who bought the large amount of ammonium nitrate on May 26 from Vineland Growers Cooperative in Lincoln, Ont. The RCMP anti-terrorist unit took over. Good thing the guy turned himself in! Officers were tight-lipped about why the man had bought such a large quantity of fertilizer, but said no charges are expected to be laid. Toronto Police Staff Supt. Jeff McGuire told CP24 Wednesday night it looked like “a gardening incident.” That's funny. The RCMP anti-terrorist unit "took over," but the Toronto Police had last word. And a witty last word it was. A gardening "incident." LOFL! Quote
Oleg Bach Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Told yah - it would be solved within 24 hours..how hard can it be to track a guy that goes into a small town to buy product who has fingers missing and speaks with an accent - bet you he was a cheap Italian who wanted to get a life time deal on fertilizer. What pissed me off is that fear was instilled into the population in a very American way..seems that the terror industry has taken hold in Canada - suddenly the sky was falling - Rich folks and their henchmen cops got into a paranoid tissy - as if some one was going to launch a revolution and take all their real nice stuff..lol Quote
Topaz Posted June 10, 2010 Author Report Posted June 10, 2010 The police found the guy, he turned himself in and there's no problem. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/100610/national/fertilizer_search Quote
