bloodyminded Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Would such a weakness be a bad thing? Yes. You are terribly inconsistent on such matters. No. Better stick to "pantywaists". You can make the point that I've overused that invective--which is certainly true--without presenting it as a nonsensical rejoinder which has nothing to do with the point your were otherwise trying to make. Of course I can...and did. Yours is a predictable game of retiring insult whenever challenged. Somebody else in the news was also fond of panties. Ooops...I did it again. Shucks! bloodyminded Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 (edited) Of course I can...and did. No, you didn't. There's that problem with basic English again. Yours is a predictable game of retiring insult whenever challenged. No. The use of insults was, and always is, your initial volley, to which I lobby back. After which, predictably, you point out that I use insults. Edited October 31, 2010 by bloodyminded Quote As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand. --Josh Billings
bush_cheney2004 Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 After which, predictably, you point out that I use insults. You are seemingly unable to remain engaged with an idea or position only, invariably reaching for a personal insult after reaching a point of frustration....insults that are most important to your perception of sexual identity and confidence. This only leads to an obvious conclusion as discussed in earlier threads. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

This only leads to an obvious conclusion as discussed in earlier threads. Like I said, my insults are invariably only l;bbed back at you, after your intial attempts at provocation. And I don't mind; I just think you should get your facts straight. Quote As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand. --Josh Billings
Jack Weber Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 I would prefer that no one used Piss Christ or Piss Pope or Piss Mohammed at all... Oleg Bach Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Church and state have always been one. In fact it was church the developed the state. Now that the state in secular...and the only state santioned religion is the worship of money - it makes sense for the banks to run the nation. Quote
jbg Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 If Canada builds a "wall of seperation" between Church and State, then it builds a wall between me and "the" State, because it simply wouldn't be "my" State anymore if I was not permitted to speak my beliefs in it, especially where it matters or counts most, in Parliament ; in Law. Who in tarnation is talking about you, in a secular state, not being able to speak religious beliefs? More rantings? Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds. Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

Pease read the thread title. jbg, I see this is now the third time you ressurected a quote or thread of mine since I disagreed with your personal, positive opinion on Obama's program for recommending euthanasia as a simple cost-saving mechanism to elderly persons. In all three instances you have taken a combative and insulting tone. That these comments and threads are over three months old shows that you made the effort to seek out and find specifically my comments, apparently for no other reason than to attack them. Based on this I have serious reservations about entering into a debate with you, as it would seem you are not interested in learning or discussing the subject matter, but rather desire only to provoke. Tim. If religion has no place in politics then the left that is a religion has no place either. The left is like a facist church with doctrines enforced by the state...through fanatic monks. Now...."desire to provoke" - I believe the meaning of provoke is to "call forth" - it was used to entice the enemy into anger and slaughter them for sport. Most who are provocative really don't have a desire to accomplish anything constructive or postitive...they simply want to have fun...and it seems that to many people are having fun...and not accomplishing much that assists the human condition...Ted Rodgers just before he died said "I will never retire, cos' I am having to much FUN" - all dear Ted did to have fun is enslave a million people to a system that offers only diversion and nothing of real value. Oleg Bach Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 He's channeling Glenn Beck, and other such luminaries. "Channeling" ? w t f? * The real and factual message I am trying to convey is if anyone is extreme right or left in politics they become fanatics - and ALL religion is fanatical.....as for lumniation and luminaries...I spoke to a little Asian guy that sketches old buildings..beautiful works of design...he says this and I am sure it can go for most things these days..."We are in the dark ages"........... Funny you mentioned Paul Martin - one of my kids will be meeting him today at her office...she had to ask me yesterday who he is...I said he is a former prime minister and finance guy that Canada did well under...so ...if he is left ...then he is productive and fair left ....I get your drift. Just please don't wave it around in public or try to force it down children's throats." Words of advice : Asking people to hide and suppress their dearest beliefs by making use of a perverted analogy is not the wisest strategy. It actually lends itself as a reason to promote and enshrine those beliefs. You can either accept the Church in society as a guest in the house, or otherwise drive her underground or exterminate her outright. The former benevolence begets a share in blessings and facilitates open and civil dialogue and discussion, the latter options beget damnation. Quote "Error has no rights."
