The part where Harker is cowering under the sheets and the door slams open with the Count blankly staring at the camera is a seriously frightening scene. There is some weird story about the guy who played Dracula...He showed up,played the part,left,and,was never heared from again... We don't know if he was merely one of those actors who remains in his role for the duration (like DeNiro and Daniel Day-Lewis are reported to sometimes do), or if there was something genuinely weird going on with him. There's a (mostly fictionalized) movie about the making of the film called Shadow of the Vampire, with Willem Dafoe as the actor in question.
