Dracula (BBC 1977: Louis Jourdan as The Count)

Probably the best and mostly faithful version of Dracula.

I recently read the book...I think the last one was very close.

The 1977 BBC version was originally a 3 or 4 part mini-series which was the best way to see it. The 'movie' version was only 150 minutes and lacked the charm of the original 'Great Performances' version. I think I last saw it on PBS some Halloweens ago...the good version.

I have an 1899 printing of the book given to me by my mother when I was a young(er) fellow. Still very readable. They made books well back in those days.

What the movie lacked that my edition supplied (1)?

I'm not arguing...I'm a fan of most vampire movies. Plus my wife forced me to watch this in Clockwork Orange-like fashion...

:P

I was forced to see that version of Dracula in the theatre...Other than the scene were the women with the boobies showed up in the basement,it kinda...well...sucked...

Keannu Reeves...Worst British accent EVER!!!

The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!
