Shady Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 Because I want to. Freedom of speech, you know. If you've ever listened to Ezra Levant speak, you'd know he's very intelligent. Just because you disagree with someone, doesn't make them an idiot. However, you're definitely right about the free speech aspect of it. You have that right to characterize him however you want. Born Free Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 (edited) I think I've actually made a considerable case. It's just that I didn't include crayon drawings so you could understand it. Damned inconsiderate of me, I know. Sorry...you have offered much argument but you have no case. You can put your crayons away now. Edited March 28, 2010 by Born Free Quote

All you've said was is there were threats of violence and the only scrap of evidence you posted were pictures which prove the opposite of what you're arguing. Quote
Argus Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Because I want to. Freedom of speech, you know. Well, you could call them him a space alien, too, if you like. I was hoping for something more logical, however, to support the particular descriptive term "idiot". Born Free Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 LOL! I just noticed that now. It's also quite Orwellian. A brownshirt with the handle of "Born Free." Ahh. Yet another poster playing the Nazi card when someone is in disagreement with them. "Have You No Sense of Decency"..... Quote
Shady Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 He's intelligent to but cooking this up with Coulter doesn't make him any less of a self-serving hypocrite. I disagree. I think organizing a small speaking tour with Ann Coulter was a fantastic idea. And it'll be even more fantastic when she comes back to Canada to speak. Especially when she takes up the University of Ottawa on their offer that she's welcome to speak there. Quote

This is the style of the socialist. Go to Rabble, they call Harper and the Tories one brand of Nazi or another. They don't like Israel so they call it an aparthied state. It's how they do things, if the socialist doesn't agree with a stance they describe in extreme terms. The socialist mindset is a fragile thing any deviation from their points of view makes it go off kilter and strange things come out of the mouth as a result. So TL;DR = Disagree with a socialist and the extreme label is true many times out of 10....racist, nazi, National Party supporter, etc. Quote "You are scum for insinuating that isn't the case you snake." -William Ashley Canadian Immigration Reform Blog

Yes, different conclusions, but not ridiculous ones. Again, you may disagree with him, but to call him an idiot is factually incorrect. He's a very intelligent, educated person. Quote

Wilber Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 That this discussion isn't about Coulter, but a larger issue - freedom of speech. Actually it is about Coulter, read the title of the thread. There is a separate thread on free speech. The more outrageous people like Coulter are, the less credibility they have. Treating them like a threat just gives them power they wouldn't otherwise have. Better to let them rant. The dangerous ones are not the outrageous types like Coulter who will never have more than a very limited following, they are the ones who cloak their intolerance in much more reasonable sounding arguments. You can decide for yourself who might fit that description best in this case. Quote "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
Shady Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 Again, I disagree. Anyone who purposely inflames people isn't all that intelligent. How has he purposely inflamed people? And really? You don't think anyone who inflames people are intelligent? Quote
Smallc Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 How has he purposely inflamed people? And really? You don't think anyone who inflames people are intelligent? All the time, and no. Quote
Shady Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 All the time, and no. Please cite an example of this so-called purposely inflaming. And your claim that nobody who inflames the public can be intelligent is about as unintelligent as it gets. There is no connection. Quote
Smallc Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 (edited) I simply disagree with you. The organizing of this tour in order to cause an incident to show that campuses are left wing is an example. Levant also argues that racism is no longer a problem...you probably agree though. Shady Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 I simply disagree with you. The organizing of this tour in order to cause an incident to show that campuses are left wing is an example. That's an example of inflaming the public? The only people it inflamed were the brownshirt leftist fascists who can't stand free speech. 99% of the rest of Canadians couldn't care less about any of it. And did you ever think that maybe he has a point that if organizing a conservative speaking tour at universities causes such an "incident", then perhaps there actually might be a problem with the political environment on campuses? Levant also argues that racism is no longer a problem...you probably agree though. Can you please back up at least a little of what you claim regarding Levant? Quote
Smallc Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 The only people it inflamed were the brownshirt leftist fascists who can't stand free speech. See, this is unintelligent and inflammatory. Can you please back up at least a little of what you claim regarding Levant? It was on the Now Toronto blog. I can't verify it, but it sounds like something he would say. Quote
madmax Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 (edited) She's really to thin. Great Promoter. And she's crazy like fox. Levant appears like a goofball or someone who wants to bring the Fox News Comedyshow mainstream. Its traditional shock tacits that are used by the best in the business like Howard Stern. Boy she makes me laugh. People enjoy being entertained. She knows her scthick. Anyone trying to have serious debate over this is suffering with fools. Edited March 28, 2010 by madmax Quote

I can't verify it though. But it sounds like something you might say. Quote

My point was that I couldn't otherwise verify it. http://www.nowtoronto.com/news/story.cfm?content=169344 Well, you still didn't verify it. This particular author characterizes what Levant said as saying racism isn't a problem anymore. There isn't any acutal quotes to that effect. Quote
Smallc Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Well, you still didn't verify it. Something I freely admit. I still say it sounds like him. Quote
