Wilber Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 Then the festival is for you too. You're an ally and one of the people the festival is for. Do you really think Toronto has one million gay people ? Because I don't object to it doesn't make me an ally. Do you work for Rodgers? Mr.Canada Posted March 8, 2010 Author Report Posted March 8, 2010 Who knows perhaps I won't see anything to have footage of. Well it seems that on this board their are two schools of thought and many times the same people have said both things so I am a bit confused. The first one is that no sexual acts take place in public during the parade. The second is that I am going to get aroused by watching the footage in private wghich would seem to admit that their is indeed sex acts occuring during the parade. So which is it? If their isn't any sex acts going on then how could I get footage? @Kimmy. I have a very good camera, it's a digital HD camera that many internet directors use to make short movies. It'll be time stamped and dated plus with the backgroud it'll be obvious to anyone familiar with T.O that that is where I am. Wild Bill Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Goofy as it seems I guess we have to conclude that holding hands or bumping, grinding and kissing etc constitute grotesque public sexual acts to him. I mean lets cut to the chase here, if Mr Canada was Islamic the women in his family would be circumcised and dressed in Burqas. I am hardly a fan of Mr. Canada. In fact, I've had him on 'ignore' almost since he first appeared. The only time I read his words is when the posts of others makes the issue look interesting enough for me to click on a post and take a peek, which hasn't been that often. That being said, as a techie I have to applaud his attempts at filmmaking! He's not just making a claim about lewd and crude behavior. He's taking the trouble to attend the parade so he can film anything that he sees! To me, this is the way things should be. No unsubstantiated claims or digressions leading to excuses. If there is no such behaviour he will have nothing on film! If he's right, we all can see it! The issue is NOT one of accepting gays! It's whether or not we have a double standard with the behaviour of the participants in the parade! Being gay is no excuse for being rude! I've gotten very tired over the years of various minority groups thinking that they're "special". We're all lonely pilgrims on our weary way through this world and we are all equal, not "special"! I look forward to seeing if Mr. Canada does indeed obtain footage or if this is all just a tempest in a teapot. I'm writing this now in plenty of time before "the parade" so they'll have no excuses for any of their behavior. I'm sure I'll hear all sorts of excuses after the fact though(from the organizers) basically saying that they're not responsible for the actions of parade goers blah blah blah, we'll see. KeyStone Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 While I generally don't agree with anything Mr Canada does or says, I can't find fault with him here. Regardless of any homophobic agenda he may have, the fact of the matter is that people should not be having sex in public, particularly during a parade, in which people bring their children out to see. There are only two possibilities: 1) He sees nothing, causing him to rethink his views of the gay community. 2) He sees public sex, in which case, I applaud him for taking action and working to clean up the parade. Guest American Woman Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 ......the fact of the matter is that people should not be having sex in public, particularly during a parade, in which people bring their children out to see. It doesn't sound as if this is a children's parade. There are people marching completely nude in it. Quote
Mr.Canada Posted March 8, 2010 Author Report Posted March 8, 2010 It doesn't sound as if this is a children's parade. There are people marching completely nude in it. That's the problem, they promote it as an event for whole family. Good wholesome fun for the whole family, my ass. Year after year I hear complaints about what is actually going on down there and I've witnessed it once my self. I understand that in this day and age people want proof. So I am out to prove it now. I will send a copy to all levels of government not to mention all the sponsers of the parade. Let them know that is is what their money is supporting. See if this fits in with their company image and the type of exposure they were after. I'm a concerned citizen. I find it hard to believe they'd promote it as a family event. I'd be pretty upset if I heard it promoted that way and brought young children to it. link link Here a cop is actually talking to the guy: link Are people seriously ok with their kids seeing this? link link And are people seriously ok with the government giving funding to it? I have to say, I didn't realize the parade was of this nature. I thought it really was to promote gay pride and equal rights. How does a parent explain that this equals "pride" to a kid? Seems to me it doesn't give a very good impression of gays. Quote

Guest American Woman Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 No...but I wouldn't take my kids to Caribana either. Or mardi gras.... So the answer is you're not ok with it. Quote
M.Dancer Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 So the answer is you're not ok with it. No, the answer is I would not take my kids. I would have no propblem going without them nor would I have a problem om a beach in St Martins....my relectance has more to do with massive crowds than anything they might see. Those pictures by the way, I guessing are a few years old. They have been discouraging male penis displays for a few years now. Because beaches in St Martin aren't crowded. You would not be ok with taking them to the Gay Pride parade, and that's all I need to know. I'm not interested in your continual talk of beaches, which have nothing to do with the streets of Toronto. You've answered my question for me. Those pictures by the way, I guessing are a few years old. They have been discouraging male penis displays for a few years now. Most of them are from 2007, 2008, and 2009. One was from 2004. Quote
blueblood Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Oh God, Mr. Canada at the Gay Pride parade... From what I've seen, the Gay Pride parade is a masterpiece in marketing. They have managed to turn a protest into a massive party. From what I've seen it's pretty much Mardi Gras. Mr. Canada wants to try and outmarket the Gay Pride Parade. Have fun trying to convince people not to have fun. The only objection that I have with lewd behavior in public is the possibility in the increase in rape to occur which is not good. The ultimate Irony is that while Mr. Canada spews vile and contempt at gay people, they at the parade will not only allow him to do so, but it will be accepted because Mr. Canada has his right to say whatever nonsense comes to his mind. Maybe then he will get egg on his face and get it...
