If one likes to look at naked men, and naked women who look like men.

Ah, it doesn't bother me at all. I'm pretty open minded about everything. Actually, I was at Yonge and Dundas, and I didn't see any naked men.

I did see men kissing, but again, that doesn't bother me.

I love when two people who are in love express that love by holding hands or kissing. It makes me happy too know their are people out there who are happy about who they are and have found someone to share that with but Shady wouldn't like that.

What about naked butts? :P

Not sure why one can't be proud of being gay without exposing their butt to the world, but to each their own, eh? B) At any rate, the crowds seemed to be enjoying the parade. :D

I want to see more media pressure on JLayton for his assault on that woman. Is the media giving him a free pass because he's dying of cancer?

This is unfair, I don't care if he's dying or not, assault is assault and I want to see the media asking him about it. Dying from cancer doesn't free someone of their civil responsibilities nor does it give them the power to break the law at their leisure.

Lol. I don't see how I'm crazy. It's crazy for me to want people to not be above the law not matter how cute and cuddly they appear to be?

It's crazy to want criminals brought to justice?

It's crazy fro wanting no one to be above the law?

It's crazy for wanting people who have terminal illnesses to be not above the law?

The media? Since when is it up to the media to put pressure on having a person charged with assault?

....I want to see the media asking him about it.

"The media" did ask him about it, and a statement was issued. What more do you expect?

This is unfair, I don't care if he's dying or not, assault is assault and ....... Dying from cancer doesn't free someone of their civil responsibilities nor does it give them the power to break the law at their leisure.

What part of "the force ... must be offensive or an affront to an individual's dignity" don't you understand? It's not up to you or the media to determine if his moving the woman's arm was offensive or an affront to her digninty; it's up to her. And since she looked anything but offended, and since she hasn't pressed charges, no assault has taken place.

She knew him. She was drinking beers with him. She was celebrating with him. If every touch someone inflicted on another person in such a situation brought assault charges, I'm betting the courts wouldn't have time to deal with anything else.

Layton didn't assault her, so it's best if you get over it and get on with your life. <_<

I agree. And I don't understand the whole "proud of being gay" thing. I'm heterosexual. I wouldn't call myself proud of that. I'm born that way. There isn't anything to be proud of, or not proud of. That being said, if there ever exists a straight pride parade, count me in. Especially if there's hot girls there, and we can get away with the sexuality and nudity the gays and lesbians get away with.

But if you think about it, it's a bit demeaning to the gay community that society in general just expects that type of behavior from them, and basically condones it. It's kind of sad in a way.

If you think being gay can be changed because you don't understand an alternative way of life you are more proud of being heterosexual then any gay person is of being gay. At least they can understand everyone is different Shady.

As for your second statement when gay pride started it was during a time when the ignorant would beat a person to death for being gay. It was a way too show strength in numbers, too come out with out fear, and it is still that way in maybe parts of the country. I don't think it is sad, what I think is sad is it had too be that way in the first place Shady because SOME people are ignorant and think being different is wrong.

No I don't think being gay can be changed. One is born gay, or straight. However, being proud to be gay is as illogical as being proud that you're tall, or can run fast, or that you have a great sense of humor.

First, Jack Layton probably isn't dying, and second, get over it.

He's getting a free pass because he has cancer, no other reason. He knew it and exploited the situation. Layton gets the pass because he is the leader of choice for the left wing so womens abuse advocates are remaining silnet as well on this male on female abuse. Jack Layton is abusing his power and her knows it.

You honestly don't understand why they have these celebrations?

This is no different than councilman Layton when he used to turn up at the Bamboo and position himself not so much that he could see the band but that everyone in the Bamboo could see him.

From the Globe last week.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/blogs/bureau-blog/ndp-and-tories-face-off-over-sports-funding/article1481342/

The reality is with the bulk of the celebrities at the arena, Jack (fighting bravely) Layton's face time would have been low....being at the bar ensured that he would be seen at least every goal...

Yes.

Accept you don't get beat up for being tall, you are killed for being fast. That is how pride started it was at a time when you couldn't teach in schools because you were gay, it was at a time when you hid because idiots thought it was wrong. It was a time when people could come out and show there was more then 3 gay people in the world, too have an open environment. They are rooted in this and if you don't get it you don't have too. If you don't want to take part stay away but keep your hate to yourself please. It is a fun time.

This is a classic leftist responss. You close down any debate and discussion by calling it hate. I haven't said anything that even comes close to what would be considered hate speech. I'm questioning the logic and significance of what I consider an outdated need for a parade. My contention is that it has little to do with rights anymore, and more to do with sex.

Please don't try and shut down discussion with your fascist tactics of ridiculous accusations of so-called hate.

As to Jack Layton's behavior. It wasn't anything close to assult. However, it was somewhat pathetic, and very unbecoming of anyone seeking to be PM of this country. It was the political equivalent of the Slap Chop commercial on television.

He isn't getting a pass, this isn't an issue to anyone but you. Or maybe you are getting paid by the post or something because you haven't had anything of value to say anywhere in this thread.

Why is no one questioning him on his abuse fof pwer?

No one is mentioning this male on female abuse that so many victim advocacy groups rally against?

Where's the public outcry and demand for an inquiry?

So cancer striken politicians are free to abuse private citizens at their leisure?

This is absurd. Why two sets of rules?

Us on the right have it worse in regard to Mr. Canada because he fits the stereotype to a T. I don't think he's getting paid by the post because he turns people off on both sides of the spectrum.
