Harper Government Continues its attack on the press

Yet another media attack has been launched by the conservatives. In Harper's latest attack on the media he commited his agents to commit arson on the press for their poor potrayal and support of the Liberal Party of Canada. It seems that action must be taken sooner rather than later to stop Hitlarpers continued attacks on freedoms of the Canadian People. Not long ago he locked parliament out to stifle those voices, and now he continues in his censure and limiting of the press by setting arson to the Ottawa seat of Canadian Television. The madness must stop, people must unite to bring down the menace to Canadians that Hitlarper is.

Has anybody else noticed that CBC Radio refers to the Canadian govt almost always as the 'Harper government' or 'Harpers Tories'? Through all the years of Chretiens reign, I never once heard it referred to as Chretiens government, it was just the government or federa govt..

They also frequently do not call him Prime Minister, they just say 'Harper'.

According to the polls, Harper is a very strong part of the Conservative brand. If anything, using his name would be a boon to the party.

I just did a quick look through the CBC website and he is refered to with the appropriate title, as are the Govt's Ministers.

I guess cause it's radio right.... it's a HUGE conspiracy!!!!

Yes we can't have people freely expressing themselves now can we? Obviously we know Harper would never attack the CTV(Conservative Tele-Vision). Where would Harper get senators from if he destroyed his government's television network?

I just did a quick look through the CBC website and he is refered to with the appropriate title, as are the Govt's Ministers.

The CBC is just following the CP style guide, which states that titles are to be used in the first reference but seldom after.

You do have a point, but when posters like Lictor come here again and again for a logical pummeling by many of us, that too gets boring. The best scenario for all concerned is for a mole to pop onto the board, make their mark with some crazy post or other (usually a racist agenda, or a Bush-Harper New World Order rant), then get piled on by the posters here and quickly banned.

The truly treasured posters are those with an unusual point of view that has been carefully considered, and is difficult to attack. Hardcore libertarians, and Marxists too (if we ever had one) would fall into that group.

It always gets tiring, although it may take months or years for the amusement to wear out.
