whowhere
Given the bashing you continuously get from other posters, your credibility to comment on my intelligence is shot. The only bashing is the sound of the frivilous fluff of your posts crashing into the perls of my posts. What's that smell? It appears I am stepping on a cow patty. Muddy
I have to question those who view Harper as not worthy of living at the official residence of the Prime Minister. Did you feel the same about Liberal PM`s who were in a minority who took up residence on Sussex Dr? Would you deprive Layton (shudder)if he were PM in a minority situation? What did you have to say at the time of minority Liberal PM`s? Or is just a prejudice against Harper? Or would it matter who was leader of the Conservative Party? I look forward to some thoughtful answers. Edited January 16, 2010 by Muddy
Shady
It appears I am stepping on a cow patty. This must be a metaphor for the way your poll is going.

Shady
Where there's crap there's flies. This must be a metaphor for the 4 votes in favour of your proposition. Anyhow, I'm glad that you're finally admitting your idea is crap.
ironstone
This topic is without a doubt one of the sillier one's in here. You really think minority PMs don't deserve to be at 24 Sussex? You are kidding right?

Especially ones that hide behind the Governor General via prorogueing, face the music, face the parliament. If this is how the Conservatives or any party wants to operate they should NOT be treated with the same perks as a majority seat PM. The opposition parties have more seats than the conservatives, they should really think about what power is. Power stems from the barrel of a gun. The true power lies in the opposition because they have more seats combined. Because Harper's minority is behaving like a majority with the opposition the opposition should table a bill as soon as parliament resumes and begin the steps of clawing back the PMs compensation, housing, and other perks. If the opposition did this you would see an about face attitude change of the Conservatives and their will to make parliament work with the oppositions points of view included. Canada is suffering because of the obfuscating actions of all the MPs.

If Harper lived in his own home instead of Sussex Drive, you'd just dream up another way to attack him. You'd probably insist we scale back security for minority PM's, or something more ridiculous. Go play with your toys and let the grown-ups discuss the important issues.
OddSox
Hello? It's not that nice a place to live. The house is an ancient money pit - it's drafty, too hot in the summer, and too cold in the winter. It fronts onto a major thoroughfare with tour busses stopping out front every five minutes or so. There's always a couple of shady characters parked in the laneway but you still keep Inuit carvings in the bedroom - just in case. Some say the attic and walls are filled with some poison that causes cancer - but "it's okay as long as you don't disturb it". Yeah, sounds like a great place to raise a family... Smallc
I believe some of those issues were fixed, though more needs to be done.
