ZenOps Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 (edited) http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/12/28/china.britain.smuggler/index.html "The 53-year-old is the first European executed in China in 50 years, according to the British legal group Reprieve." Normally - People like this are simply extradited to their country of origin for justice. This time however, they kept and executed him with great speed. Maybe China is getting tired of too many British drug dealers? Feels a lot like the British are losing their ground, even on typically loyal Canada: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/03/20/galloway-ban-canada-kenney.html I blame Charles as a weak authoritarian figure, Really I do. Oleg Bach Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Cocaine, pot, booze, methamphetamine and tons of pharma product are legal in the west...if they were illegal they would not exist. There is no will in the west to get rid of these things. Opiate products like herion bring forth a sluggishness ...the folks in China have long memories and still remember how Britian and others flooded their nation with opiates at cut rate prices and how this scourge destroyed their potential future leadership - opening the door to communism..They are just sending out a message to the world - do to us again what was done to us by the British East Indian Trading Company and we will kill you - starting off with the lone drug smuggler. China is just getting back on it's feet after being destroyed by dope...and they are not about to let the west poison it's brightest minds again. Quote
Oleg Bach Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 China had no choice. I am just wondering if the organ harvesting went well. Quote

Wilber Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 You'd like to kill all drug dealers in the world? Works pretty well for places like Singapore. Quote "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 (edited) You'd like to kill all drug dealers in the world? Of course, otherwise there wouldn't be the associated excitement and glamour. Edited January 1, 2010 by bush_cheney2004 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Bugs Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Look on the bright side. His usable body parts are probably giving a few people around the world reason for hope right now ... Sadly, the Chinese Criminal Code does not allow for a 'too dumb to know better' defense. Quote

The issue wasn't stupidity, it's that the guy was mentally ill. That being said, ya take yer chances when ya travel. I remember reading about a tourist who was fined for taking a bit of Roman cement from some ruin in Italy. Point is know the rules of where you're going, and generally speaking, you're gonna be in deep doo doo in any country if you smuggle drugs, and in some countries you'll end up in prison for a loooong time or even dead. If the guy was out of his gourd, as it does appear he was, why the hell was he ever allowed to travel? Edited January 3, 2010 by ToadBrother Quote

I'd also like to know where the hell some people get off cheering a dictatorship's execution of the mentally ill. I mean, that's really sick.
