From what I've seen of Naomi Klein (interviews, op-eds, etc), she seems pretty ridiculous on several issues. I remember seeing her name on the list to boycott the latest Toronto Film Festival due to its focus on Tel Aviv. It's unsurprising that you're a huge fan of hers.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I will try not to lose sleep over what you think of Naomi Klein.

So in your awareness that Jews faced atrocities and hardships in Muslim nations prior to the creation of Israel, I assume you also disagree with the comments that were made in this thread:

Which ones? The ones suggesting that prior to WWII Jewish experience in Muslim nations was great, and in Christian nations it was terrible? Yeah, those are ignorant opinions: they were both horrible, but if you wanted to do a comparison, it was probably slightly better to be in a Muslim nation because at least you had legal protection, even if it was part of an overall discriminatory set of laws. In Christian nations, you had nothing.

Did you have any other questions?

Until Israel joins the human family and embraces all non-Jews as equals there will be no hope of peace in the area. How in the hell to we expect there to be a peacful existance for both sides when the classic secularist Jew along with the orthodox ones...look upon all of humanity other than themselves as inferiour and expendable creatures - It's impossible for such a group to generate peace - they are trained from childhood not to care about others - other than their own huge and extended family...the Jews need an education..their approach is spiritually and socially underdeveloped.

Also while I am at it I would like to mention the fact that this generation of Israelites are totally ungrateful to the decendants of those that saved their grand parents from destruction - They would not have been born if it were not for people like my father and others who infiltrated the Nazis and killed off a lot of their prime leadership...I am still pissed off at one particular group of Jews who abused my younger brother and his children..who were totally ungrateful for my fathers sacrafice and diligence in the protection of Jews during WW2 - One generation and they simply forgot......what ever happened to their motto "never again" - they concentrate on their enemies and forget their Christian friends and protectors.

Are you serious? The comments that I included in the post you are responding to. That wasn't clear to you by the fact that I included them in my post?

Nope. If you could just answer the question I asked in my previous post, that would suffice, thank you.

Tiresome, tiresome and even more tiresome! "Jews faced autrocities" - your damned right they did. BUT so have millions of others - since time began - Human beings have been committing autorcious acts against their fellows since time began - some cleverly hide the evil deeds and colour them as good - while others are more bold - The Jews had a good PR department in these regards - the rest of us suffer in silence and are helpless...this is a human concern - and has nothing do to with JUST Jews...I see people walking about on my street who look like they just stepped out of a death camp..and they are not Jews - people are being genocided all over the place. We have nice clever names like "homeless" - but they look like concentration camp victims...we should stop talking about the Jews in this respect and spread the notion of genocide right across the board - for all to see.

I think we both didn't read each other's posts through to the end.

Yeah,it probably does suck to be Palestinian. They are little more than pawns of the Arab world to be sure. But the Palestinians must also take their fair share of blame for their predicament. They have done little to better their own situation and continue to play the role of victim on the world stage.Hate is taught from an early age to each successive generation...so what else should we expect?A perpetual tragedy.

Beware the Brookfield industrial complex...

Certainly Palestinians aren't blamelss - after all, how on earth could the leadership think that violence was a better option against a democratic nation like Israel than non-violent civil disobedience.

If Israelis had to choose between running over Palestinian civilians lying down, chained together blocking the road to a settlement construction site, and abandoning the settlement, they'd choose the later in a heartbeat. The violence is what allows the Israelis to (wrongly) feel like they are justified in continuing the occupation.

That's quite an accusation. Do you have anything along the line of actual evidence to back that up?

Do you think that Israelis would be able to stomach committing blatant war crimes, that not even the most hawkish of Likud party members could explain away? If Israelis had to choose between abandoning the construction of a settlement and mowing over Palestinian men, women and children with bulldozers, they would turn back down the road. Because once you start doing things like that, and you live in a democratic state with free media, you can no longer convince yourself that you're not a monster.

She misunderstood you. Many people have difficulty with "latter" and "former"...

RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS

If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us

Oops. My apologies. I misread your earlier statement, so sorry about that. As it is, I agree with you. :)
