On Air America, talk show host Randi Rhodes recommended doing to Bush what Michael Corleone, in ``The Godfather, Part II," does to his brother. ``Like Fredo," she said, "somebody ought to take him out fishing and phuw!" -- then imitated the sound of a gunshot.

It's an interesting phenomenon that's been under-reported by the Mainstream media. Probably because they're somewhat sympathetic to these individuals, and their ideology. I really wish Democrats were asked to answer for these kind of comments, the same way the Mainstream media always seems to ask Republicans to answer for conservative talk radio. It's a huge double-standard.

The biggest problem with US politics right now is the Democratic party has been taken over by left wing radicals that do not represent the US population anymore than the extreme right wing elements in the Republican party. Unfortunately, these radicals have mistook what was largely an anti-Bush protest vote as a license to implement whatever they want. Fortunately, for Americans the democrats still have moderates in the party which have enough influence to put the breaks on the legislative agenda. The Republicans will not be able to regain power unless the are able to recover the votes that are going to the blue dogs and that will require that they reign in their own extremists.

To fly a plane, you need both a left wing and a right wing.

It is probably because no one is listening to their radio programs.

At the moment, their own extremists are going after moderates and the party is being led by talk show hosts.

Fox News host Glenn Beck joked on the air Thursday about poisoning House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), drawing a sharp rebuke from a liberal media watchdog group.

I know and it is not good for anyone.

You have to look at this way, the Republican radio show host are having a easy time of it because of the changes Obama is trying to do and there the door is open for them to spin, spin and more spin. They blame Obama for all the problems and you never hear them talk about BUSH. The hosts have people up in arms over this healthcare insurance and from what I've heard said that is Americans who want to keep the insurer they have they can, but to hear the radio hosts, they are putting the fear in the people who listen to them.

"BUSH" is no longer the president...hasn't been for quite some time. Bush signed Medicare Part D for prescription drugs into law, not death panels!

Not that simple.....$500 billion would be cut from Medicaid to help pay for Obama's ideas.....this has angered many many seniors and disabled recipients. Real people are really pissed off, regardless of political spinning.

telling the truth about anti-semitism and use of Nazi tactics is not hate radio --- what Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham et al do, with their lies and jingoistic bullpuckey - that is hate radio

I guess any response to the rightwing hate radio will cause the fans of hate radio to toss that label at people who only tell the truth -- as I recall, Senator Al Franken started his political career as a liberal talk radio show host -- I don't suppose any of his right wing counterparts are likely to run for office - even Joe Scarborough didn't join the reactionary hate radio squad until after he was forced out of office

Uhm, no. The biggest problem in American politics is the control the religious right established over the Republican Party about twenty years ago. American politics has been little other than a contest between competing moral viewpoints ever since. Every election campaign seems to hinge on elements such as abortion, gun control, gay rights, sex education, birth control and "family values" whatever the hell that is.

I'm not saying such things are unimportant but in the scope and breadth of national government over a nation the size of the United States these are TRIVIAL issues.

Yea...it's far more important to argue about issues such as EI, who's speaking French, deadbeat immigrants, and whatever the Americans are doing. The Americans don't have anybody else to argue about.

Canadian politics sometimes revolves around trivial things too, but I'd argue that immigration policy is hardly trivial, nor is EI, which is a life or death influence to so many, not to mention it's importance to business.

That's great.....so let the Canadians argue about EI to a fault, and let the Americans do as they please too, inluding talk radio bloviating. There are no CanCon or CRTC type restrictions in the USA.

We all know why immigration policy is certainly not trivial to you.

So in your world, stating that Pat Buchanan wants all Jews hanged is "the truth." Interesting.

Every election campaign seems to hinge on elements such as abortion, gun control, gay rights, sex education, birth control and "family values" whatever the hell that is.

That certainly wasn't the case of the most recent election. It wasn't even the case in the election of 2004.

I disagree that they're trivial issues.

I've heard Pat Buchanan claim all Jews are going to Hell --- I never heard him mention a noose but I do know members of Opus Dei believe jews should be hanged --- just ask Mel Gibson

any clown who wants to think racism isn't part and parcel of the fascist right's agenda is an especially sad pathetic, Emmet Kelly-like clown

So again, source?

What's that got to do with anything? Pat Buchanan is.

He didn't lie. If you're a christian who believes in the New Testament, you believe that you must live your life in Christ to be saved. It's that simple.

And you're equating that with wanting all Jews hanged?

You asked for a source about his beliefs that all Jews will go to hell, not to do with them being hanged. My bible studies never mentioned mass hangings.

The left will increase in shrillness as the socialistic noose tightens about the american and canadian's necks. An analysis of Soviet Propaganda is very illuminating on the this subject.

Leftists use the same tactics as Brezhnev era commissars and operatives: slander and muck. Godwin's law is a favorite in the patter of liberals... so are the use of labels: such as "reactionary" "white supremacist" "anti-semite" "racist" "xenophobe" "homophobe" "right wing extremist" "hate filled bigot" "KKK" "nazi pig" etc ad infinitam nauseam.
