jbg Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 Carter says Gaza Palestinians treated like animalsTue Jun 16, 2009 11:18am EDT GAZA, June 16 (Reuters) - Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are being "treated more like animals than human beings", former U.S. president Jimmy Carter said on Tuesday. On a visit to the enclave, he condemned Israel's January bombardment of Gaza and its continuing trade blockade, which he said forbids even children's toys. "I understand that even paper and crayons are treated as a security hazard," he told Gazans at a local United Nations office. "I sought an explanation of this when I met with Israeli officials and I received none, because there is no explanation." I think Israel should stop making war on children. IMO, the blockade of Gaza must end before any progress can be made in peace efforts. I think the Palestinians should stop making children human shields, and start acting like humans rather than animals. KrustyKidd Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 Animals don't do that. I believe that the word animal was intended to mean wrong, bad, evil, selfish, inhumane rather than infer they are four legged beasts who bark like dogs. In any case, Israel does not have an official policy of using their own people as human shields rather, they seek to protect those people. On the other hand, Hamas not only puts their own people at risk by their actions but actually states they will use those people as a means of defense known to all as 'human shileds.' KrustyKidd Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 (edited) Gaza residents cannot even get toys, how could they have the luxury of a government with troops? They have difficulty getting toys because the military wing of Hamas, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades has screwed everything up by using funding which should be going towards the welfare of the people to buy weapons to kill Israeli civilians with. The Israelis, not liking this for obvious reasons, close borders down to prevent the illegal smuggling of these weapons. Hamas, wishing to get some sympathy from the actions which they have themselves caused, use propaganda to get left wing Jew hating morons from the west to overlook the fact that their actions ensure that this occurs, and, blame Israel for protecting it's own people instead. Benny No toy, no childhood. Call on Hamas to stop supporting their terrorism and buy toys instead. Heck, why do you blame Israel for Hamas's poor leadership?
