dub Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Are you ready for Abu Ghraib, Act II?Abu Ghraib Aftershocks Five years ago, people around the world were sickened by photographs that surfaced showing U.S. troops abusing Iraqi inmates at Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad. Act I resulted in an avalanche of congressional hearings, 15 Pentagon probes and courts-martial. More than 400 U.S. troops — but no senior officials — went to jail or were otherwise punished. Congress passed the Detainee Treatment Act to try to prevent future atrocities. But now a new batch of photographs, perhaps hundreds of images, of prisoners being abused is about to be made public. It comes at a time when the debate over prisoner mistreatment is still roiling America's political and public conscience. The new photographs are being made public in a victory for the American Civil Liberties Union. And the Pentagon, after fighting, and losing, three federal court reviews of the matter, has waved the white flag and is now preparing to release the pictures. Quote

Will he wait for a known Jew supporter to post and then race bait them? Will she inject some wild conspiracy theory whose masterminds are now proved to be Jews? How about using some links from hard left wing sites like the huffington post. I will watch with interest to see which method is used, who knows, maybe dub has a different idea in mind! Quote

dub Posted May 13, 2009 Author Report Posted May 13, 2009 Obama U-turn on abuse photographsUS President Barack Obama has changed his mind and will now attempt to block the publication of photographs showing the abuse of prisoners by US soldiers. The US government had previously said it would not fight a court ruling ordering the release of the pictures. Mr Obama now believes the release of the photos would make the job of US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan more difficult, White House officials said. The pictures were due to be released by 28 May, according to the court ruling. Quote

Nobody else gives a shit about these terrorist assholes. it's nice that you like to pull statistics like "nobody else", out of your ass, but don't get upset when you're corrected. you seem to have the same view of majority of church goers in america: More than half of people who attend services at least once a week — 54 percent — said the use of torture against suspected terrorists is “often” or “sometimes” justified. Only 42 percent of people who “seldom or never” go to services agreed, according the analysis released Wednesday by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life. congrats. Quote
dub Posted May 13, 2009 Author Report Posted May 13, 2009 jerryspringer may not give a shit about children being sodomized, but i do: Hersh: Children sodomized at Abu Ghraib, on tape After Donald Rumsfeld testified on the Hill about Abu Ghraib in May, there was talk of more photos and video in the Pentagon's custody more horrific than anything made public so far. "If these are released to the public, obviously it's going to make matters worse," Rumsfeld said. Since then, the Washington Post has disclosed some new details and images of abuse at the prison. But if Seymour Hersh is right, it all gets much worse. Hersh gave a speech last week to the ACLU making the charge that children were sodomized in front of women in the prison, and the Pentagon has tape of it. The speech was first reported in a New York Sun story last week, which was in turn posted on Jim Romenesko's media blog, and now EdCone.com and other blogs are linking to the video. We transcribed the critical section here (it starts at about 1:31:00 into the ACLU video.) At the start of the transcript here, you can see how Hersh was struggling over what he should say: "Debating about it, ummm ... Some of the worst things that happened you don't know about, okay? Videos, um, there are women there. Some of you may have read that they were passing letters out, communications out to their men. This is at Abu Ghraib ... The women were passing messages out saying 'Please come and kill me, because of what's happened' and basically what happened is that those women who were arrested with young boys, children in cases that have been recorded. The boys were sodomized with the cameras rolling. And the worst above all of that is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking that your government has. They are in total terror. It's going to come out." kuzadd Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 dub: the torture photos part two and again we see the mildest of the mild shown publicly, but there are worse far worse. Ask yourself this, why do so many change the subject? Why do so many deny the torture? Why do so many use the label terrorists, when it is widely known and widely reported that most of the people in Abu Ghraib and the other torture havens were innocent persons just rounded up? there is but one reason for these denials, fear, fear within these persons, Jerry Seinfeld, and others, fear to look in the mirror and face the fact that there is a monster and it is them! They stand no moral higher ground, the support beastiality, rape, child rape, they support forcing people to have homosexual sex, the encourgage the use of excrement to be smeared on others, they support all manners of beatings, electrocution. They wantonly lust for it. As long as they don't have to be faced with it. But then when faced with it, their fear, that they are the very monsters, they claim others to be. Then they have to go into denial mode, anything to deny their support of attrocities. This is their method of saving face. Of saving their psyches. It is a delusion they have created for themselves. They will attack others and lash out all around them, take the subject off topic and any other face saving method they can use, to alleviate the rot that has taken over their brains. They are deep into their psychosis. They are filled with hatred and are the terrorists. And that scares the crap out of them! Watch, and read their reactions. kuzadd Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 dub have you seen this article? How Americans Think About Torture - and Why ? But public sentiment on such matters does not emerge in a vacuum. Rather,it often reflects the influence of carefully orchestrated marketing campaigns by powerful vested interests eager to shape opinion in support of a specific agenda or facts on the ground. This seemingly successful campaign of mass persuasion depended upon convincing the public to believe five things: (1) our country is in great danger, (2) torture is the only thing that can keep us safe, (3) the people we torture are monstrous wrongdoers, (4) our decision to torture is moral and for the greater good, and (5) critics of our torture policy should not be trusted. And all the while, the marketers painstakingly avoided using the actual word “torture”--and contested the word’s use by anyone else. Of course, this strategy is by no means unique to the selling of torture. It can be used to sell anything, like illegitimate wars. It is difficult to accept that so many can swallow up mass manipulation so easily but it happens everyday with ordinary marketing and it works so well, so it is no surprise that with just the right persuasion people can be "convinced" that torture is legitimate and righteous when it is no such thing. WIP Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 dub: the torture photos part two and again we see the mildest of the mild shown publicly, but there are worse far worse. Unfortunately the world may never find out what was in the worst video tapes, since the Justice Dept. issued a statement back in March that the CIA destroyed 92 videos of interrogations. Obviously, these were ones that were so bad that the CIA did not want them to see the light of day. Now, will the Obama Administration conduct an investigation about the destruction of evidence? I'm not holding my breath on this one based on their present pattern of rolling over to try to avoid taking on government officials still on the job, who may have played a role in committing war crimes and suppression of evidence. They are trying to say:"let's forget about it and move on," with the promise of not using torture in the future. This soft approach is not going to make anyone happy -- whether civil libertarians or fascist-leaning Republicans who have adopted the "might makes right" strategy, and are even indignant about banning the use of torture! And what would you have to say if a future administration decided to use these techniques on "domestic terrorists?" The precedent for their use has already been established, and a future government may decide that they are proper techniques to use on other enemies besides bearded Arabs. Sir Bandelot Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) Now, will the Obama Administration conduct an investigation about the destruction of evidence? I'm not holding my breath on this one Obama has already shown himself for what he is, a continuation of current US doctrine. His policy of "reaching out" to the republican party, really just means it's the same old same old. This is the new politics, where bald faced liars tell jokes and wear a grin. It should not be surprising at all for those who are not subject to mass media hysterics that typically occur during election time. kuzadd Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 WIP makes a really good point. "And what would you have to say if a future administration decided to use these techniques on "domestic terrorists?" The precedent for their use has already been established, and a future government may decide that they are proper techniques to use on other enemies besides bearded Arabs." Their precedent for use has been established, hell, it has been cheered by gullible fools. I wonder if the supporters of these tactics will be cheering the abuse on, when they are watching their own children be raped, sodomized and possibly killed.
