Who knows if they are accurate, you copies them from racist nutbar sites....they tend to twist and distort to suit their twisted minds.

Hardly. Racial penis expert John Rushton still teaches at Western....

you mean Philip Rushton, and i'd wager you know nothing of his work, and would'nt be able to able to say anything meaningful about the topic either way...

Why would you need my IP address? I'm pretty sure I'm still free to speak my mind abiout the fact that I recognize a difference between simply speaking and inciting hatred.

My grandfather was killed during the WWI (fighting for England) and my father injured during WWII. I'm pretty sure neither of them would feel they fought so we would be free to incite hatred. Something called the Holocaust proved what happens when it goes unchecked.

I'm not saying the CHRC always get it right, but they serve a purpose. They protect our freedom of speech by making sure that radicals don't destroy it by going too far.

oh OF COURSE! i'm sure you granfather and father both went to war with germany for the rights of homosexuals not to be offended, and so that sikh school children could go to school right along his grandchildren with Kirpan's or ceremonial daggers... oh and I'm sure then went to war so that a crazed Haitian boat girl could become the "queen" of canada...

and how would "radicals" destroy free speech by using it? the radicals who are destroying free speech are the ones calling some speeches "hatred" right?

wow what a tangled mess your brain is.

they protect our freedom of speech by... outlawing freedom of speech for SOME people and opinions...

that's like Trojans saying - we poke holes in SOME condoms to protect normal people from having STD's and make sure radicals don't go to far

brilliant! you're not even trying are you?

it was a hypothetical... try to follow... i was telling you earlier that YOUR speech made me hateful and violent... so if people shouldn't have the right to say anything that makes anyone hateful and violent - then your earlier post was hateful and a hate crime! By elementary standards!

you did'nt get it (or claimed not to get it)... lets move on.

Provoke " To call someone forth....like what point do you actually have? Your head perhaps.....? Lector... I can't stand it when someone smiles and says....what are you talking about? ..... Your whole attitude is a point that needs addressing. What happened to the monster that arrived? Don't get civilized and don't get soft...If you are going to execute issues and reputations - then go for it! Do you get my point --- ? You are an excellent judge and hangman. Clean the place up.

I would say that's exactly what they fought for...meaning so some snot nosed twit can freely disparage his betters without fear of the Gestapo knocking down his door...capiche?

Don't forget that hubby dear was a terror guy...It must be nice to be so cute and charming and black and have the authority of God all mighty and the Queen - to be able to grant Haiti...some food money. Of course the GG is going to send some cash to her hungry extended family.

maybe they fought for sharia law then? or maybe they fought to charge critics of sharia law as "hate criminals" or "disseminators of hate" and have them prosecuted?

I mean right?

actually they'd probably all agree with me...

I think this is what might be cvalled a strawman. Maybe (but probably not) you would have a point if there was sharia law in Canada, otherwise your brainfart is pretty much irrelevant.

pfaaaaa!!

Very insightful of you.

when you people campaign for laws designed

Who are you calling you people, you loony?

None of those would be hate crimes....it is always open season of facsists..as it should be. I don't think they should be made objects of violence but of ridicule.

BTW....you c/p those from some really nasty nutbar sites....I think you might wear your hair a little too short, if ya dig.

Actually, I think if that Hawaian "poem" had been read in Canada there'd be a very good case under our law to have the good professor arrested. It certainly reads like hate speech to me.

So Jason Kenney suggesting that any criticism of Israel is a 'hate' crime, is an example of 'free speech'?

Kenney has never made any such suggestion. You are simply making that up.

Except it is a poem. Can't say for certain but I believe artists and artistic works have a little leeway....otherwise some snot nosed twit might object to Picasso's Guernica by saying it advocates violence against Basques...

That being said I hate Jason Kenney for being a Conservative. Anyone feel incited to boot him in the butt? ....anyone?

Fixed it for you.

Actually, it deplores violence, while the "poem" seems to advocate violence.

It would be interesting to change "white woman" in the poem to "black man" or something similar and see what the reaction was.

I'm not going to argue for or against the content of the poem. I think though the reaction would be the seem. Shock and outrage.

wow what a tangled mess your brain is.

One of my father's sisters had a life partner for almost 40 years. He was fine with it and made sure we were too. I spent time with them every summer and called them both 'aunt'.

I can also tell you that while you are free to call our GG a 'crazed Haitian boat girl', that didn't factor into his decision to enlist. He thought it was for a greater cause.

As to Kirpans, I personally oppose them being allowed in school, and no doubt my father would have too. However, he never would have minimized war for such trivial pursuits. It's an entirely different issue.

then roll up our sleeves and turn them into realities." - Michael Ignatieff

"I would not want the Prime Minister to think that he could simply fail in the House of Commons as a route to another General Election. That's not the way our system works." Stephen Harper.

Morris and Argus,

I believe the two of you have discovered an area of this debate that hasn't been adequately explored yet.

How does/should the law deal with 'art' ?

I went to see an early film (pre; Roger and Me Michael Moore was in it) that dealt with Fascism in America called "Blood in the Face". But... there seemed to be fascists in the audience.

The slippery slope becomes a cliff.
