Ontario PC Leadership Race

You may has well made Frank the count of Magna the head of the party - Belinda gave it a go and now I guess the old man is going to use his surrogate Harris..who uses his surrogate --- what's his name - and gangsterville will come to pass - but taking down Toronto the center of the universe will not be easy - Harris could not do it - the best he could do was punish the weak --and cause resentment of the poor - and it did not work - Toronto has compassion..and that is hard to destroy.

I rather doubt that the NDP has any chance at all of winning Ontario, at least until a lot of people that remember Rae's government grow old and die.

A dog would have a better chance of winning Ontario than the NDP.

A DEAD dog, in fact!

What is the difference between Ontario being in a recession then and now? Rae has admitted he made mistakes, after all it was his first time as Premier, just like the mistakes Harper has made or any other politican.

Who cares? You don't have to convince me. You have to convince all the people in Ontario!

It's just the way the overwhelming number of Ontarioans think. As I said, maybe when a lot of people who remember our only NDP term grow old and die that number may change.

You would have a better chance of having Mulroney win as PM again than to have the NDP win in Ontario.

You also should understand that the Ontario NDP are very different from that of Manitoba or other provinces. I listened to Andrea Horvath when she campaigned for her party's leadership. She sounded like it was 1969, not 2009! That party is still rooted in the old days, when union memberships were huge and there were huge numbers of people in factory jobs that were potential supporters. All our evils were the fault of big business and only sweetness and light would come from socialism.

They just don't seem to have changed with the times, at all!

I agree (!) that Andrea Horvath sometimes sounds like 1969 ... too often ...

Even worse, Tim Hudak sounds like 1995. I wonder if Deb still whispers her famous sweet nothings in his ear "I do not recall. I do not recall I do not recall ..." (x 157)

Let's face it: He's married to someone who lied under oath.

How much would you trust this man!

Not only that, but she was a key adviser to Harris during the Ipperwash murder. In my eyes that would make her complicit if not directly involved in the pressure the government put on the OPP.

Now she'll be advising Hudak...under covers...she is as dangerous to Ontario politics as Hudak is as a poor Harris clone.

Do you see every and all people not on the 'left' as demons?

You sound very 'religious' in tone. There are those of your church and everyone else must be a heretic, if not outright evil.

You might do yourself some good to open up a bit. Some of my most cherished friends have political views very different from my own. That's part of why I value them.

You seem to brand people as good or evil according to whether or not they belong to your 'church'.

To an old hippie like me, such intolerance is disturbing, to say the least.

Well all I can say is "WHO IN THE (H) DO I VOTE FOR NOW? Hopefully some Independent runs so I can throw my vote away.

Hudak is my MPP...I've never voted for him...A Harrisite who sided with Jim,"Let's jail the homeless on compassionate grounds",Flaharty in his failed bid at the PC provincial leadership.

The fact that he's a true disciple of the Harris regime, and will be advised by his wife(a former Harris aid) is going to be problematic...I don't see a Tory return to power because of this...
