To compare Harper and Iggy I went and checked their horoscopes and found Harper born on Apr 30/59 and Iggy May12/47 both are Taurus, the BULL. So they both are very stubborn, so things may not change in the Commons BUT Iggy is almost 10 years old and probably shows more maturity. I don't think Iggy will use the coalition because Harper must know now he can't play the game he's played in the past. I'm sure this is going to be a very good budget we will get from the Conservatives, they have no choice now.

Michael Ignatieff was on CBC Radio's 'The Current' today.
His response was the usual cautious "we'll see" approach, saying he'll listen to Canadians (in reality, since he's a Liberal, this means he'll listen to the focus group results that the Montreal marketing firm they hire produces) and that his vision is for a role for government but not "big government".

When you think about it, there is an undercurrent of absurdity to saying 'after elected, I will listen to what Canadians want'.

When does a leader 'lead' ? Did Trudeau get his ideas from the electorate ?

The ultimate example of this wrong-headed approach to leadership-by-marketing is Dalton McGuinty. I truly despised the government of Mike Harris, but at least he took a stand.

If any politician popped his head up from the ground long enough, he would see that there's incredible opportunity for a new direction for Canada by re-engineering our government into an organization that is focused on delivering social services in an efficient manner.

when I think about it... I realize that our current gov't vastly surpassed the old one on money spent on consultants and polling deszpite stating they wouldn't govern based on popular opinion etc... you recall that right?

Ignatieff is an arrogant, pompous intellectual. Not a man of the people. He was born rich, went to the best private schools and the best schools around the world fully paid for by his rich parents. He's never worked a real day in his life yet he's going to speak for everyday working Canadians? Gimme a break.

This old Russian is what was left over after the revolution. There were two kinds of intelligensia (intellectuals) in pre-soviet Russia- the ones that were Christain based and old school - and the then the idealogs that embraced new socialist philosophy...this second set has to make a decisioin in the early days of sovietism...To take part in the murder of the Christians and the Jews that would not submit - I would like to know what group Ignatieffs family belonged to - the lunitic murdering intellectuals - or the civilzed ones? Just a thought - who was his grandfather and was he a good guy or not?

No it is relevant - the culture and mindset of a family is passed down from generation to generation - also the genetic predisposition to be of a certain type is also passed down to a great degree...put on an animal level I was simply asking the question - what kind of bio-machine Ignatieff might be? I and you have traits whether we know it or not that we inherit - sometimes from hundreds of years ago - take Prescott Bush and Joe Kennedy - these fellows had an attitude - and it was passed down through re-generations of themselves in part..this is a very important bit of questioning - what does your family do?

Coming from a long line of deposed aristocrats (those best to rule) - I don't have a problem with that. What are we to do - shall we do what Saddam and Stalin did? In order to become the smartest guy on the block, through attrition killed all the intelligent people - thus the oafs became the brightest - which led to the creation of the square wheeled Lada - and 20 million Russians dying during WW 2 - because all of the bright generals were all executed to please the idiot....don't pick on Iggy because he's a blue blood - as with old money - not all old money is evil - and not all smart people are cruel - lets wait and see what he is made of before we judge.

Glad you are not sitting on the bench as a judge - we would all be in the dungeon - for a conservative you are not very thoughtful - How can you judge a man when all you know about him is hear say? The guy may be excellent...Dion was a weak acedemic...Iggy appears to have balls - and brains...let the dark eyed one have a run at it...besides who said Harper is perfect....but ----------------------like I said in a deleted post...Iggy may just be an American corporate operative...we don't know enough to pass judgement...be patient.

I'm doing the public a service. I'm pointing out the facts of life as far as Ignatieff is concerned. Don't be sad when faced with the facts that cannot be skewed by the MSM. Instead they just omit them and give them no attention.
