moderateamericain Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Alright so here is the skinny, I'm in an 8 man league that drafts a starting team of 2 centers, 2 LW, 2 RW, 4 defense men, and 2 goalies. The problem is I know next to nothing outside of the Redwings about Hockey. This league is for work and the pot is 400 bucks! Now who better to ask for Fantasy Hockey wisdom then a bunch of Canucks! guyser Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Take Jerome Ingila for a centre. He is due for a good year and I think in his contract year. Jonathan Tawes out of Chicago looks great. Rookie of the year....hmm now that I say it he may have soph jinks. NOt sure if LW or RW. Winger? Ovechkin. Sid the kid is a no brainer but if taken (Centre) go with the Russian Malkov. Redden (D) in NYR could post points galore. The NYR look to be high scoring this year. As for other D , I cant help you there. Goalies, what a crapshoot. Brodeur is too old though a fantastic goalie. Its a start.....FWIW. Standard agent fees apply if you win. 10% Quote

guyser Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 hey they beat bufflo....i know pre season....but they won one.... The parade route for Stanley is being planned as we speak. MA...dont take Luongo (IME) since he has little defence in front of him. Hell of a goalie but.... Better would be kiprosoff w Calgary. For other D, look at the Western Conference. They get more points there. Quote

Anyone got any input in that? that would depend on your position in the draft. If you get first pick, a high output centreman, lets say Crosby would be wise. If you get lucky, I'd go with linemates and potential linemates. Your better off taking the most potential for points when you can get it. White Doors Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 SO my goalies are garbage? should I try and trade up? Nah, I think your goalies are good. The rest of the lineup I have questions about. But, there were 12 people in your pool so maybe you are ok. I just thought there were too many Europeans for my taste (the tend to take longer to recuperate from injuries:) But I would have to see someone else's pool picks in your pool to compare really. White Doors Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 I scooped up spacek and dropped Daniel GirardiAnd Horcoff and dropped John Madden Horcoff is a consistent pts getter and he is on the past year of his contract. Also, the Oilers should have a pretty high scoring team this year. Spacek is a great Offensive D man. Just watch for injuries, but hopefully he will be ok this year.
