Alright so here is the skinny, I'm in an 8 man league that drafts a starting team of 2 centers, 2 LW, 2 RW, 4 defense men, and 2 goalies.

The problem is I know next to nothing outside of the Redwings about Hockey. This league is for work and the pot is 400 bucks! Now who better to ask for Fantasy Hockey wisdom then a bunch of Canucks!

Take Jerome Ingila for a centre. He is due for a good year and I think in his contract year.

Jonathan Tawes out of Chicago looks great. Rookie of the year....hmm now that I say it he may have soph jinks. NOt sure if LW or RW.

Winger? Ovechkin.

Sid the kid is a no brainer but if taken (Centre) go with the Russian Malkov.

Redden (D) in NYR could post points galore. The NYR look to be high scoring this year.

As for other D , I cant help you there.

Goalies, what a crapshoot. Brodeur is too old though a fantastic goalie.

Its a start.....FWIW.

You have come to the right place, and I will guide you through the tough decisions!

Left Wing?

1) 83.1 1.0 23 WSH Ovechkin, Alexander

2) 64.5 0.9 27 DET Zetterberg, Henrik

3) 62.9 0.8 25 ATL Kovalchuk, Ilya

4) 58.0 0.8 27 OTT Heatley, Dany

5) 49.9 0.6 29 DAL Morrow, Brenden

6) 49.8 0.6 26 CHI Sharp, Patrick

Go with Sharp. He's a Sharp guy. Morrow too because you'll always have a tomorrow.

Right Wing?

244) 70.3 0.9 31 CGY Iginla, Jarome

245) 65.6 0.9 35 OTT Alfredsson, Daniel

246) 59.1 0.8 26 MIN Gaborik, Marian

247) 54.0 0.7 25 BUF Pominville, Jason

248) 53.2 0.6 35 MTL Kovalev, Alexei

249) 50.2 0.6 31 PHO Doan, Shane

PHO? What's that? Nobody named Iginla can do anything. Choose Gaborik and Kovalev. The Russians can play hockey and Montreal usually has good players.

Centres?

119) 70.2 0.9 22 PIT Malkin, Evgeni

120) 64.7 0.8 30 DET Datsyuk, Pavel

121) 59.9 0.8 25 OTT Spezza, Jason

122) 59.4 0.7 29 S.J Thornton, Joe

123) 58.9 0.7 28 T.B Lecavalier, Vincent

124) 55.8 0.7 25 BUF Roy, Derek

I once had a friend named Derek and he knew about hockey. And Datsyuk sounds as if dats OK!

Defence?

356) 40.5 0.5 38 DET Lidstrom, Nicklas

357) 34.4 0.4 34 PIT Gonchar, Sergei

358) 33.5 0.4 30 NYI Streit, Mark

359) 33.3 0.4 29 CHI Campbell, Brian

360) 32.4 0.4 29 MTL Markov, Andrei

361) 32.3 0.4 22 WSH Green, Mike

Go with Mike Green. Greens are in fashion now. And you want someone straight for defence. Mark Streit is good and he plays for New York. They have $$$ (or at least, they used too.)

Goalies?

475) 72.7 0.9 36 N.J Brodeur, Martin

476) 67.9 1.0 32 FLO Vokoun, Tomas

477) 64.6 0.9 29 VAN Luongo, Roberto

478) 57.6 0.9 28 PHO Bryzgalov, Ilya

479) 56.5 0.7 33 S.J Nabokov, Evgeni

480) 56.3 0.8 26 NYR Lundqvist, Henrik

481) 55.8 0.9 31 PHI Biron, Martin

Choose Roberto Luongo. Anybody named Roberto Luongo who plays hockey in Vancouver has got to be good.

If I I'm not mistaken, there's only one goalie in hockey so I only gave you one name.

12 teams? I thought the NHL had, like, 37 teams. I think they even have a team in Arkansas or Texas or Mississippi. I know for sure they have a team in Florida. (Apparently, they play on plastic ice or something.)

The parade route for Stanley is being planned as we speak.

MA...dont take Luongo (IME) since he has little defence in front of him. Hell of a goalie but....

Better would be kiprosoff w Calgary.

For other D, look at the Western Conference. They get more points there.

alright I also read that the Center position is really Deep so im better off taking a wing or a goalie early on. and defensemen middle round. Anyone got any input in that?

that would depend on your position in the draft. If you get first pick, a high output centreman, lets say Crosby would be wise. If you get lucky, I'd go with linemates and potential linemates.

Your better off taking the most potential for points when you can get it.

wtf? you should know what position he plays if you are going to give hockey pool advice, no?

Also, we don''t know how they are scoring goalies. If they are multiplying by their save % then Luongo would be an excellent choice. If it's wins/shutouts then he would not.

Ok OK , I made a mistake. Did you think maybe I m in his pool and was trying to throw him...

MA, I goofed, Iginla is a RW.

SO my goalies are garbage? should I try and trade up?

Nah, I think your goalies are good. The rest of the lineup I have questions about.

But, there were 12 people in your pool so maybe you are ok. I just thought there were too many Europeans for my taste (the tend to take longer to recuperate from injuries:) But I would have to see someone else's pool picks in your pool to compare really.

Ok.. for starters..

I'd take Horcoff over Sedin.

Also, Whitney over Sharp (whitney is on your bench)

Morris over Streit

and Spacek over Rozsival

I scooped up spacek and dropped Daniel Girardi

And Horcoff and dropped John Madden

Horcoff is a consistent pts getter and he is on the past year of his contract. Also, the Oilers should have a pretty high scoring team this year.

Spacek is a great Offensive D man. Just watch for injuries, but hopefully he will be ok this year.

At Defense who would you rather have

Mark Streit or Matt Schnieder

Schnieder at first glance but I would look up and see anythign about health issues.

I assume you can make a limited amount of trades during the season?
