Homosexual Leader Calls AIDS 'a Gay Disease'

(CNSNews.com) - In a startling admission, the head of a major homosexual activist group said HIV/AIDS is a "gay disease."

The comments were made last Friday at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force's (NGLTF) national conference in Detroit by Executive Director Matt Foreman.

"Folks, with 70 percent of the people in this country living with HIV being gay or bi (sexual), we cannot deny that HIV is a gay disease," Foreman told his audience. "We have to own that and face up to that."

Conservative organizations that work on the HIV/AIDS issue say they are shocked.

"Foreman's comments are a dramatic departure from the long-standing strategic and rhetorical orthodoxy of the homosexual 'rights' movement, which in the past has heatedly objected to any such characterization by critics of its political agenda," said Gary Glenn, president of the American Family Association of Michigan.

Matt Barber, policy director for cultural issues at Concerned Women for America, called the admission "refreshing."

For decades, he said, homosexual activists have excoriated anyone who even implied that HIV/AIDS was a disease largely affecting homosexuals. Even the late homosexual journalist Randy Shilts was attacked in the early '80s - when AIDS was first recognized - for referring to the condition as GRID, or "gay-related immune deficiency."

"Because of their war on semantics and being in such denial and not focusing on the reality of the dangers of their behaviors, many people have contracted the disease," Barber told Cybercast News Service.

"Who knows how many lives could have been saved had homosexual activists been honest about the dangers of the lifestyle they choose to engage in," he added.

When leaders of the right-wing claim HIV/AIDS (is) a gay disease, we all balk at that claim," Heywood said. "But what happens when a national gay leader says it?"

I went to CNS and the original editorial on the Gay and Lesbian Taskforce website, and just as I figured, CNS carefully pulled the sentences they could use for their gay-bashing agenda - not some of the other headlines: "Gay' Activists Risk Your Life - Tolerate It!" "Thousands Rally to Support Lawmaker Targeted by Homosexual Activists." If CNS was really interested in being factually accurate, they could have pointed out Foreman's mistake in calling HIV a gay disease - specifically that he somehow failed to note the fact that it is GAY MEN who have the highest rates of HIV/AIDS. As a group, lesbians have the lowest rates of HIV/AIDS, even lower than heterosexual women! So all of the bible thumpers who want to persecute homosexuals because of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, should by that logic, be encouraging heterosexual women to become lesbians since woman to woman sex carries less risk of transmitting the disease. The simple fact that STD rates run highest among gay men, with heterosexual men in 2nd place, hetero women third, and finally, lesbian women with the lowest rates of sexually transmitted illnesses tells us more about sexual behaviour of males and females than it does about homosexuality! The problem for the community of gay men is that they don't have women as the gatekeepers to unrestricted sex. If men, including religiously devout men are truly honest with themselves, they'll admit that it's the women in our lives that keep us from being promiscuous. Add to that, the simple fact that most of us married men can't score with chicks unless we take off our rings and are total unconscionable liars. Not to mention wreckless as well, since girls that are that easy that they'll lay any guy they meet in a bar, are likely toxic, and carrying some sort of STD!

So give the gay guys a break! If they weren't forced to live their lives in secret and use gay bars for all of their social networking, their AIDS crisis wouldn't be as bad as it is now! The younger people coming up seem to be more tolerant and willing to let people live meaningful lives in their own manner, and I think the next generations will see gays becoming a more accepted part of society and less likely to be suicidal and filled with nihilistic, wreckless attitudes than many gay men of my generation unfortunately had.

It's all usery..They so-called gay lobby does not exist. Getting back to the gay promiscuity..use to be in the old days that a gay man would have "sex" if you want to call it that, with 20 different people in one month. Those days are gone. People seek intelligent and gentle love these days and most are not successful..gay or straight. Maybe it's time to go back to kissing like angles and coupling with lovers and NOT "partners".

That's very kind of you. It was not a "conquest" thing for me. I never sought to conquer or dominate females..It was strickly hedonism - no different than booze drugs or fine food. Seems as I age I want quality and I realize that the angelic realm is a sweet place to be while I spent my last couple of decades in this wonderful place. BUT - If I was in my prime - and knew what I did now - I would probably have 6 wives and 50 children and the largest rock band in history. The old wife still comes around and "You are all I have" - comes from her lips occassionally...I wonder if feeling sorry for someone who sacraficed her body and mind to bear us 4 children is love? I suppose it is..BUT - I sure would like a knew adventure and to venture well.

Post script - there was so much bias that no one took into account that is may be the female causing the problems. Policy always dictated that the male was the bad and problematic one. It's really quite heart breaking.

I would've taken in my mom if need be, but she passed away before I could offer... mind you her and dad were ok together, but I would have if I had needed to. She intentionally got with child. It was not planned and there was not a lot in common. I did my duty. I wanted children. The youngest has just turned 18. Frankly - she is not aging well and is dithering - she is 10 years my junior...do I love her..? I suppose I do..but I don't want to grow older with her...I feel robbed. I guess that is putting it bluntly and I am getting very personal here. Hope is my wealth and I do wish the best for the old girl..but I have a purpose and a sense of destiny. Got to go back and start over and finish what I started. Every Thursday night I break out the electric guitar and jam with the younger players at the club...she attends and is thrilled that I am playing againg and better than ever. Usually she skipps the club and crawls into my bed and waits for me to come home after being a guitar hero in my old age.

Funny - playing accoustic piano, guitar and singing plus the writing - I like a kid have discovered electricity and now wail away like Clapton...It's like I have been given a new start - Playing like a monster with the young guys and girls and being real loud.....see my friend - we do get a second chance-- but you can not let the age factor effect you - I kick ass and have more energy on stage then they youngsters and she has fallen in love with the music man one more time...BUT - so have the younger and older audience - Women half my age propose to me and want to get close...I guess I am and always will be a pirate - as for her..the mother of my children - she always feared that if I found success in the buisness that I would leave her...so she was a blockage and defended her position by thwarting my persuits of musical greatness...seems that dispite time she may be right - I will leave her - I am a very patient man.

Oleg, you sound like a really nice guy who tried to do what you've been told is "the right thing" when a young woman got pregnant.

You are the perfect example of what I fight for... that women DO dupe men into committment by becoming pregnant. She trapped you. Bottom line. And you stayed and raised the children and now she is aging you feel obligated to stay. Is it any wonder so many older men are bitter towards women?

My mother taught me to never be dependent. To make sure I was emotionally and financially secure in my own right. I didn't have my child until I was 28 - he was an unplanned baby and I raised him myself. I could have forced the father into a relationship with me, made him marry me, but we both would have been miserable.

But for you that time has long past and you must "lay in the bed you've made" as my mother would say...

I may have to lay in the bed that I made but I can still decide on who is in that be to comfort and thrill me. Everything will be fine...I have good genetics and still youthful - still interested in woman - can still make love - and am wiser and more gentle and patient..so from here on in - it will be the best years that I will live now. There are no regrets. This life I have lived was meant to be and made me the person I am today. Yes I am a nice guy and still can be a holly terror if need be but why bother. My most favorite thing on all the earth is the female form and mind..they are a delight..and I will never hold bitterness towards God's greatest achievement - woman! Children are wonderful - worldly success and wealth - but the woman is the only thing that makes life tolerable and wonderful. Drea...you seem sweet and bright....I was considering dating a 24 year old beauty - she lost a child recently and is broken because of it - so what do you think..I could replace her lost - ha! The kid would sing like a bird and fly like and angel - and as far as being a father in my old old age - well - even a year bouncing a babe on my knee - and then dying would be worth while - besides - think of the hot sex I could have - typical I be. The woman is strikingly beautiful..where as my old brood mare was plain and sexy...there is no fool like an old fool...AND I AM THAT FOOL> To hell with getting old and hanging out with that depressed nut that ruined my life

AIDS is really a "male sexual disease" only transmitted by having sexual relationship with another Man. Women can't get it unless they have sexual relations with a MAN that is BIsexual and there lies the problem of how anyone who is sexually active, may get this disease, young and old.
