Aaah...the good life. Amazing how well one can function once you get used to it. So much so that no one even knows I am. Even my employees.

Dont equate what some of us can do with dancers friends.

Come on folks, being baked all day every day in the company of minors is not a good idea. Chronic use of anything, from water to sex to oranges is not good. Something will have to give.

Also I can think of many things one , or perhaps only me, should not do whilst puffing. First and foremost is cooking. Damn knives.....never again.

Sports? There are plenty more.

Aside from this guy....

If that guy was truly using it for medical purposes why didn't he apply for a medical exemption?

Must admit I have never heard of pot-based butter.

What does it look like? How would the EMTs know what to look for?

I imagine it looks like a marijuana laced brownie.....without all the other ingredients , and its yellow.

I have no idea, likely just stirred into a pound of butter.

Anybody in my house with a pot brownie around wouldn't know it was a pot brownie unless I told them it wasn't a regular brownie.

Which sorta proves my point that this guys arrest sounds a little fishy.

EMTs don't have the right to randomly check the contents of butter they find in a patients house. Something pretty odd at work here.

It may be fishy, but the law is on the books.

IIRC, both EMT's and firefighters have to call in crap like that.

canna butter looks like butter except its green. To make it you take a big stock pot, fill it 3/4 of the way with water, then you put in your shake(the leaves and trimming you cut off the plant that are not the flowering tops), then you add in 2 pounds of butter or margerine and boil for 4 hours at a slow boil. When you are done that take the greenish water and strain it through a nylon stocking into a baking pan. try and squeeze as much of the juice out of the leaf matter as possible. Now put the pan into the freezer and the butter, now infused with active THC will rise to the top and freeze. Chisel away the ice and put the "cannabutter" into a tupperware container in thr fridge and it will keep for months. Use it in place of regular butter in any recipe to give your cookies that extra "kick".

Getting a medical exemption is damn near impossible, thanks in large part to Anne Mclellan's interference in the MMAR program. My doctor signed a letter for me that says, though he is aware of and supports my use of Cannabis to treat my severe arthritis, he will not sign the Federal government's MMAD application forms because of liability concerns. He says the forms have been purposely worded in such a way that the insurers have advised doctors not to cooperate with the program. Why is it that people need to reaply every six months to a special federal department to be allowed to access cannabis when you don't even need anything more than a prescription for even cocaine and morphine, or oxycontin? Why can my doctor write me a script for pure prescription THC but not for natural herbal THC? I don't need an exemption or anything for pure synthetic THC but for the plant form I need a special set of forms signed in triplicate every 6 months?

Makes no sense at all. Also even for legal medical users of cannabis it is actually still illegal to make concetrates like cannabutter, or hashish.

Any actual evidence of someone being imprisoned for smoking pot in their house?

As I said earlier, decriminalization is a half measure.

Legalize pot, get the criminal element out of cultivation/distribution, but crack down heavily on stoned driving.

Marc Emery was sentenced to 9 months in jail in saskatoon for passing a joint at a legailzation rally. They charged him with trafficking, because technically even passing a joint to your buddy is considered trafficking under the law. Now the americans are trying to have Marc Emery extradited to to face charges of selling pot seeds over the internet. If the conservatives allow the extradition Marc Emery is facing 30 years to life in an american prison for selling pot seeds. That is the most ridiclous thing I have ever heard. They have even been calling him a "drug kingpin" something which can be punishable by the death penalty in the united states.

30 years in jail for pot seeds??? yikes

Given Emery's in-depth knowledge of everything cannabis, it would be hard to believe that he was unaware of the US's harsh stance against it. Wasn't it kind of silly of him to do business with US customers over the internet? The only thing I can think of that he felt untouchable simply because he conducted his business from Canada. I guess he's one dude who hopes there's a change of government here...and quick.

That being said, I am c=more concerned about 14 years olds with 19 or 20 years old. At some point a father should have the right to kick the fellows arse around town with an option to use his balls for book ends.

Couldn't agree more and that's the father in me speaking, not any conservatism. Two things I learned about teenagers. 1: When a girl's tits get big, her brain shrinks for about six years then they turn into really neat people. 2: A boy's stupidity is usually a little easier on the nerves but lasts for a while longer then they to turn into really neat people. Actually, both were always really neat, just hard to love at times. They don't always make good decisions and occasionally they need some "firm" guidance to keep them from making some really bad ones.

Wow. We agree. But my solution is that a person would require a permit from the fire department to grow a small number of plants. That permit should cost more than enough to pay for the program. That would ensure the lights are properly wired and the system is properly ventilated, that children aren't being exposed to the operation, and that people don't rely on the black market for their supply.

Consumption should be limited to one's own home (nobody should force others to breathe their second-hand smoke).

I would also greatly increase the penalty for giving or selling it to minors at the same time. I hate the fact that it's readily available in junior high schools and I blame that on the unregulated environment of prohibition. Just as most reasonable alcohol consumers recognize that kids should not follow their lead, I as a chronic smoker don't like the idea of children using it either.

Dont worry about it. He is just bitter all the time. He had to live amongst immigrants once, they were dirty, he never recovered.

Coulda been worse. I might have had to live amongst smug, knowledge-free shallow thinking Lefties.

Besides, he attacks you, not the message. He lost.

Uh, the message was him bragging that he's a super successful real estate tycoon with oodles of toys who deliberately hires potheads to work on people's homes. I can see how you wouldn't recognize that. Even without drugs you're incapable of logic or coherent thinking.

But take away the personal attacks and your argument is just anecdotal observations about potheads you knew and didn't like (big surprise) and a resentment that people find your lust for teenagers creepy.

If the Liberals are smart they will make this an issue in the next election and force some of these social conservatives to come out of the woodwork and look foolish. The conservative views on Cannabis really do make them look foolish and out of touch with reality. I hope Dion is smart enough to take advantage of this.

Dion might well be dumb enough to try, but there are enough sharp eyed backroom boys still in the Liberal Party to strangle him if he ever tried. Legalizing drugs plays real well with the dead-head crowd, but virtually none of them ever vote. And those who do vote for the marighuana party or the NDP. There are no votes for the Liberals in legalizing pot, but there's a huge risk of losing votes to all those suburban middle of the roaders out there who don't think too much of pot-heads.

As for the Tories - there's no risk. Most of those who are really intent on legalizing pot are the kind who'd never vote conservative anyway.

Like any of your potheads have presented any kind of real evidence of anything other than how good you feel when you can retreat from your pathetic lives into a haze of pot smoke.

And you haven't ever been able to present an argument without personal insults on any subject on any thread since you got here, so quit your snivelling. Your hypocrisy is showing - again.

Emery went out of his way to rub the US Government's nose it in. Stupid mistake.

I don't believe I've made a personal insult in my thousands of posts, other than to today call your hypothetical gay child molester a pervert. I think I can live with that. I challenge you to provide ONE POST where I did. I think it would be a challenge to find one post where you DIDN't use an insult (simply because you appear to be incapable of presenting an argument without one). I would await your reply, but you won't. You're far too frightened of being exposed for what you are.

As for evidence, that's all the eividence I need. If I want to retreat from my pathetic life into a haze of pot smoke, it's none of your business. Go watch Hannah Montana and get your buzz that way, and I won't send the cops after you either.

Yes, because conservatives love having big government in their personal business. Meanwhile, "the left, " which the more vapid, remedial scholars on this site refer to repeatedly, has always been very soft on drugs in countries like communist China. Can you back up any of your posts with anything other than insults and half-baked observations?

There are some areas where a lot of money is made just keeping the status quo. I wish someone would do an inverstigation into how much all these laws cost. But then they might not live too long aye.

don't whine.

That's a good counter-argument when you have absolutely no justification for your position, but it clearly shows you got nothing.

She was arrested by city police.

Terrible case that and the bus driver was being an obnoxious prick.

I was thinking more of the defiance of the types like Dennis Kozlowski, Conrad Black or Martha Stewart.

Again...you have missed the larger point. Rosa Parks engaged the power and accepted the consequences for the sake of social change (i.e. arrest and misdemeanor conviction / fine & court fees) and she wasn't even the first to do so. To compare today's whining dopers who would do none of these things to Ms. Parks is ludicrous.

How is Emery different? He's doing exactly what Parks did. He's suffering the consequences of whiners who use the legal system to deal with people they don't like. People who abuse the criminal justice system to abuse and oppress others just because they dislike them are the worst scum in our society. They hate freedom, liberty, and everything we stand for.
