What a load of horsecrap!!! Marriage in a LEGAL sense IS for the state to decide NOT religion. It is up to the religious institutions to decide wether or not they are going to perform same sex marriges. No one is forced to do anything, no one is discriminated against. When did the church decide it gets to make laws governing canadians? I must have missed that one.

personally i would be proud to be one of the first countries to officially become demilitarized... I think it would really go to show that canada's interests lie in peaceful resolutions to problems. I would support a highly mobile peacekeeping force though as an alternative.

Sooooooo true... he looks almost mechanical with that hairstyle. I know this has nothing to do with his policies and such but the hair thing is just weird. Maybe if some people could get out of this 'need to check others power' mindset we wouldn't need to spend billions of dollars on machines built with the sole purpuse to bring death and misery to fellow humans. Perhaps spending some of that money on bringing a few billion people clean water would help provide better long term security then a satilite that can blow up a pickup truck from 20 miles up.

Just to clear things up... private businesses are no more effecient at operating a service then the government is. Note my name... technocrat... it is derived from the private sectors equivalent to the public sectors beureaucrat. Technocracy Vs Beureaucracy... its the same organizational structure. The organizational structures of big business and government are almost identical. The difference being that if the levels of efficiency are favouring the private sector the 'profits' do not benifit the end user and do not neccesarily translate into better services. On a per dollar input basis services rendered is identical the difference being that if it is a public institution the public has an indirect method of control & benifit... this post is incomplete i will finish it in the morning.

let me refrase that... we need a reformed UN that isn't subject to the whims of the a few world powers. The US has shown blatant disregard for international law & international treaties. I think the US military has more then enough ways to kill a person as is. Last time i checked its pretty sick to harbour enough wmd's to destroy the world over several times, especially when your a 'freedom loving country'. If this continues it will further beleif that the US has no interest in world peace or prosperity, only their own.

This is taught in highschool economics bub... at least thats where i learned about it first. The rpoblem is most people are deadset on taking bird coursed throughout highschool so they can get the highest marks for post secondary

I would love if the NDP was in with official opposition status. IMHO the NDP would be far more of a constructive official opposition then Harper & crew.
