Christian Heritage Party?Check out their opening page: http://www.chp.ca. Lots of Liberal and other party bashing for a so called Christian organization.

Oh, now I know why Mirror got banned.

Funny thing about polls, Ipsos-Reid shows Martin at 37, Harper, 27, and Layton 17. http://www.canadawebpages.com/pc-editorial...ditorLink=ipsos Poll taken between Sept 27- 29/05

I forgot to mention Bill's writing ability. He recently wrote a book entitled, O'Reilly Factor for Kids. I imagine you'll find that right next to his smut publication, Those Who Trespass. As far as guests not appearing on his show, they are to be applauded . Dean isn't a coward by the way; he knows that all he'll be presented with will be a bullying show, featuring a B.S. host that over-shouts him.

O'Reilly (or O'liely) is a joke, a liar and a bully. He's just another guy on the right that manufactures information and adds his "spin" to it. There is nothing fair and balanced about his show, or the Fox news for that matter. People who buy into his crap are obviously not well read. But for those who are willing pry themselves away from Fox, here's just a couple (among many) sites that show O'Reilly for the person he is. http://www.mediachannel.org/views/dissecto...falert148.shtml http://mediamatters.org/items/200509210010

Saudi Prince buys 5% of Fox News
newbie replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Doesn't surprise me at all. And as far as fair and balanced goes, it was never displayed at Fox anyway. -
Speaking of intolerant, I refer you to Pat Robertson and George Bush. Bush, who claims to be a Christian, has gone beyond intolerent to imcompetence causing death. Since you include me in your tirade (I am a Liberal) it's not the Liberals who call people traitors who disagree with Bush. Liberals are often called commies and pinkos, etc. I think what the right confuses is that Liberals in general are open minded. We are tolerant of other races, religions, faiths, lifestyles, etc. And we don't need to monopolize talk radio to demonstrate that.

A 1988 US Surgeon General's report stated that nicotine is as addictive as drugs such as heroin and cocaine http://apt.rcpsych.org/cgi/content/full/8/1/42 Once a young person starts, it develops into a full fleged addiction by the time they reach adulthood, mostly by the manipulation of nicotine deliveries. http://www.lawpublish.com/fdasum.html To compare that to fast food is ridiculous. At least now the tobacco companies have labels on their packaging. But those who developed cancer prior to that have every right to sue these companies. The big cigarette makers knew full well that they were increasing addiction by the various chemicals added to their products (in some cases over 4000 additives). The responsible thing to do would be for them to fund addiction centres and cover medical costs to those who contracted cancer prior to public disclosure. As for other addictions, in Alberta we have AADAC for problem gamblers, alcoholics and drug abusers.

Liberal View of Canada: PM, GG speak

David Frum? Now there's a bastion of objectivity. -
God's 'Intelligent Design' in Classroom? Why Not?
newbie replied to mirror's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
I don't know eureka. I don't think our schools should be the catch all for everything. Pretty soon there would be atheism classes, and of course all the other religions would want their voices heard. I don't mind having evening classes to discuss these "faith" topics, but I feel they just can't be within the present curriculum. Some would argue that's what universities are for. -
I don't believe that is accurate. Seems to me it's the right who are the angry ones. I ask only why?? They have both houses, have their guy in office, control talk radio - what the hell more do you guys want. I think a round of prozak is in order -- and soon.

The specific charges against Tom DeLay: http://i.a.cnn.net/cnn/2005/images/09/28/d....indictment.pdf
-
It's not like it at all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is the same. Harper and his croonies were shooting off their mouths, branding all the Liberals as corrupt long before anyone was found guilty of anything. And they still tar all members of that party with the same brush.
-
Polls are only good when they run in your favour.

Kind of like Harper and the conservatives re Gomery.

Tom DeLay was finally indicted by a Texas Grand Jury for money laundering. This is a major republican leader who was admonisted by the House ethics committee for taking 3 trips funded by lobbyists. He was also admonished for bribing a fellow republican, accepting bribes, and for illegally using the Federal Avation Administation for his own warped purposes. On top of all this, his wife and kid are on the payroll (to the sum of $500,000.00) to some political parties he controls. An oh, there is some allegation that he runs a nonprofit foundation for orphans that he receives unregulated donations. http://slate.msn.com/id/2116392/?nav=navoa House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi had this to say: "The criminal indictment of Majority Leader Tom Delay is the latest example that Republicans in Congress are plagued by a culture of corruption at the expense of the American people."

Is Calgary or Edmonton Better Place to Live?
newbie replied to Chamuel's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Calgary is a very Americanized city, full of pretention (especially during Stampede week). It's a "conservative" city as reflected in its politics and lifestyle. I don't care for big cities, but I'd choose Edmonton in a heartbeat as it exhibits the cultural and politics that I'm attracted to. -
Man, I'm liking this ignore concept. And the nice thing is that most of the radical posters here hang themselves with their own words.

Best watch it again. All I saw was Billy boy trying to be the bully again. Hardly a licking. Phil wasn't the least intimidated like most of his guests.

Liberal bias rears its ugly head
newbie replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Gotta love this guy: "History will deal with George W. Bush and the neoconservatives who misled a mighty nation into a flawed war that is draining the finest military in the world, diverting Guard and reserve forces that should be on the front line of homeland defense, shredding international alliances that prevailed in two world wars and the Cold War, accumulating staggering deficits, misdirecting revenue from education to rebuilding Iraqi buildings we've blown up, and weakening America's national security." as from: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...5082301178.html How bloody true. -
They are going to need lots as 142 Iraqi cops and soldiers killed just in this year alone so far. http://icasualties.org/oif/IraqiDeaths.aspx

Coffin pleads guilty to fraud of $1.5 million
newbie replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If I stole money from you, what should be done to me? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd expect you to repay (as Coffin did) and be dealt with by the legal system. But I wouldn't blame your wife or family or anyone else but you. -
I'm hoping Martin gets in, just to excite and enrage our very own MB.
