Canadian Terrorists: Who Are They?
Army Guy replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The entire race, culture and religion.....is what i mean....they are not ready to be exposed to our culture yet...and we are not ready to solve all the problems they bring....until both sides can meet in the middle i say NEXT....and keep them out... There is a path, but THEY must chose to take it on their own, THEY must solve these problems on their own, GW Bush try to solve it with the military option how did that work for him....And how is Iraq today.....- 111 replies

Canada "ready to go to war against syria" press reports...
Army Guy replied to login's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Thats what they said in Bosnia, when we first deplyed and were all racing for the Airport, Russia won that race, And there was a armed stand off that lasted days. British, Americans, french, and even us. Our mandate was to peacekeep, however once we landed in country our orders were to get to the airport, by any means available and to use any force nessicary, beat the Russians there. Funney thing about the whole issue looking back on it, everyones vehs were painted white with UN markings on them including the Russians...Serbs Croats, and Muslims all stopped fighting during those few days and watched the stand off Russia verses the rest of NATO.....Tense moments for sure, Russia did not care then nor do i think they care now, they will always look after they're interests... -
Canadian Terrorists: Who Are They?
Army Guy replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Does it make sense for us to bar anybody with that affiliation ? If both tribes continue on the road we are going down then i would say yes, we should bar them, and why not ? Can you see the major difference in our cultures closing the gap any time soon,.Can you see Candians willing to give up anything to lessen the gap, i don't , and yet i also see Canadians not willing to end this with a military solution either.... Do you see them as equals, i mean aside the fact i think most Canadians are firm believers in human rights etc etc....do you see most middle eastern nations as equals to todays Canadians....their values, morals, belief structures...or are you saying i should turn a blind eye to how they treat one another let alone a foreignor like me. Or do we bury our heads in the sand let them kill each other, until they catch up with our standards of treatment, morals, values.- 111 replies

Canada "ready to go to war against syria" press reports...

I don't think NATO as in the organization is backing anyone one in this conflict, Turkey may be supporting a horse in the race, but they are doing this by themselfs. Turkey may be a NATO partner but i highly doubt they are recieving their orders from NATO HQ's. Turkey is acting in there best interests.....not NATO's...besides Syria has always been under Ivan's wing, a direct involvement by NATO could cause a larger confrontation involving Russia...and although miother Russia has been claimed to be dead...they are very capable of giving NATO a bloody nose, making the middle eastern conflicts to todate look like childs play.... Turkey as a nation certainly has the ability to supply Russian designed wpns to anyone. But in the qty's it would take to back the entire rebel force i doubt that as well, i mean why would they need to supply in mass, there is already enough readily available on the battlefield now. Of course this all could be proven by tracking serial numbers and point of orgins, who made it , who purchased it....not very hard to do...can also trace the AMMO, no point in having just wpns....both can be tracked if one had the resources....i'm sure the media has access to those resources along with most countries. Aside from the mass desertions, Captured Military bases, abandoned equipment, there should be enough wpns from the battle field to make everyone happy....Turkey would only have to provide a few thousand or so.... -
This was not always the case, This law just changed in 2009, and was reverted back to 1977. So that German couple , who's baby was born in Canada before 1977 has a Dual citizenship, same goes for diplomatic workers. In general, if you were born in Canada, you are a Canadian citizen. If you were born in Canada after February 14, 1977, and at the time of your birth, your parents were not Canadian citizens or permanent residents, and at least one parent had diplomatic status in Canada, you are not a citizen. If you were born in Canada before February 15, 1977 to a parent who was a foreign diplomat in Canada, contact CIC for more information on eligibility.http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/dual-citizenship.asp Canadian citizenship law before February 15, 1977, limited dual citizenship. Many individuals who became citizens of another country before that date lost their Canadian citizenship. However, on April 17, 2009, a new law came into effect that automatically restored citizenship to many of those individuals who lost it under the previous citizenship law and automatically gave citizenship to others who never had it. If you think this applies to you and you have questions, please contact us. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/dual-citizenship.asp http://blog.lostcanadian.com/

I agree with longer wait times, during those wait times the new born would be given citizenship the same as the parents....if born after parents become Canadian citizenship then fine.... There are loop holes with our laws for instance a new born, born on a flight orginating or landing in Canada is automatically offered Canadian citizenship, Or immigrants awaiting to become citizens, off spring born in Canada during this time are considered Canadian at birth. Same goes for foreign workers who have new borns in our country, their new borns are given Canadian citizenship... And yet years back there was a court case of a Canadian Military couple who's son was born in germany had to apply for their sons Canadian citizenship.....Not sure if that law has been changed....Both were Canadian citizens, and yet had to go to court to get their son into the country and his rightful citizenship. It should not be automatic, nor should it be so hard to strip...
-
If that were the law then most would follow follow the law and drop their other citizenship. I Should have been clearer sorry, Not all passports travel easy, take Isrealis traveling in other middle eastern countries, also take middle eastern traveling in western countries.....having a Canadian passport allows you to travel easier in almost every country.... .....
-
I have to agree with Gosthacked on this one, I'm not in favour of dual citizenship either. I think for those that are lucky enough to have the option should pick one or the other.....For lots of reasons, there are currently thousands of Canadians who have traveled back to their orginal countries of orgin to engage in a conflict. Some with legitimate armies, others with freedom fighters , others in terrorist org's or at least classified as such by the west..... Having one citizenship would certianly make it easier to make one law that blankets all Canadian citizens, preventing any Canadian citizen from entering a conflict other than in the service of Canada.... It would answer the problem of Citizens of convience, those living / working in another country for long extended times, look at the lebanon evac for a prime example. many of those dual citizens had been out of canada for more than 5 years, no intention of returning until the shit hit the fan... I think one of the reasons they are pushing for the revoking of Canadian citizenship is because those persons who are inclined to terrorist activites or other illegal activities for that matter can travel alot more freely when they do so on a Canadian passport. Just a question does it state on your passport that you are a dual citizen and what the other citizenship is ? It's the few that are screwing it up for the many..... And i also am a firm believer that just being born here should not automatically give you citizenship, And there should be more to getting a canadian citizenship than there is now....The Khadrs is a perfect example....

what bs is this? so not the case. a bunch of countries allow non citizens to serve in their forces. Thats not the context in which i was responding, you claimed Omar had every right to defend himself, as a canadain citizen , fighting for a terrorist group, agains't Coalition forces....While it is true any Canadian citizen may join any other nations military if accepted, however even that statement has limitations, that nation can not be at conflict with Canada at the time....the organization must be accepted as the nations defense forces....one can not join a terrorist org and take the fight again'st a nation and expect it to be legal....nor can one join a merc outfit, or a regular civilian and take part in hostilities....as they are illigal. Terrorist or terrorist groups....I don't think we have to cover this one it is well documented in canadian law...it is illigal period to be a terrorist or member of terrorist group, and take part in terrorist activities. mercs http://www.icrc.org/customary-ihl/eng/docs/v2_cou_ca_rule108 Civilians (Art 1609 para g) http://www.forces.gc.ca/jag/publications/oplaw-loiop/loac-ddca-2004/chap16-eng.asp And Art 302 para 2 Non Combatants. http://www.forces.gc.ca/jag/publications/oplaw-loiop/loac-ddca-2004/chap03-eng.asp Indiscriminate Attacks such as laying mines. http://www.icrc.org/customary-ihl/eng/docs/v2_cou_ca_rule11 Canada is also discussing the below statement .... The resolution states that any Canadian citizen, "whether by birth or by naturalized grant of Canadian citizenship or by claim of landed immigrant or refugee status" who "takes up arms against the Canadian Forces or the Forces of Canada’s Allies automatically invalidates his or her Canadian citizenship or claim" and "should be tried for high treason under the Canadian Criminal Code" if they return to Canada. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/citizenship-gone-if-canadians-fight-against-countrys-soldiers-tory-convention-to-propose/article2040793

Also I disagree with your assessment of the only person able to defend.. wrong, it was an invasion in violation of the rules of war, why apply the rules of war if the invader doesn't apply them? You can disagree all you want it is illegal in Canadian law, inter national law and the conventions....You can not take up arms for any nation you please, if you are not a citizen of that country.....As it has been explained many times Omar is a Canadian citizen and has no right to defend Afghanistan from any foriegn invader.....He was just visting ..... As for the Invasion being in violation of inter national laws, the US claims it was authorized by Article 51 of the Un charter...assisted by UN res 1373 According to Art 51 the US does not need direct UN approval to take action...Perhaps you can explain why the US is in violation of the Rules of war, or geneva convention. and piont out what portion they are in violation of. And maybe why the UN has not taken action again' st the US for doing so. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapter_VII_of_the_United_Nations_Charter http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs/2001/sc7158.doc.htm Law of Persons states that if an individual's life is threatened they have the fundamental right to a defence, by any reasonable application of force whether deadly or not. This must be applied to everyone then, including criminals, when the police come to there doors and they believe their lifes are threaten they can defend themselfs right ? and if that is so why are they're laws against such very actions....ie assault of a police officer, So just so i'm clear if the police draw their wpns i can draw mine, if they shoot i can shoot, and kill as many of them as i can , and it is all legal... I'm going to need a source on that one.... No part of "in force" Afghan law provided for US special forces to assault the house Khadr was in, so the act is beyond the law and a criminal act, At the time a legal interm government was in place that much we know it's in all the history books......That interm governmant did give those very said powers to not Only US forces but to ISAF forces as well. ...but hey lets not stop there....lets take a look at Omars situation, Spec ops units were not in the area looking for something else and were side tracked to check out the the source of a SAT phone... Aghan milita or government forces went up to the house and knocked on the door.....Which in logins mind is a serious threat,....Omars buddies answered those knocks with Automatic gun fire knocking 3 of the militia members down.....a couple of questions here Is knocking on the door considered a threat , and can you use deadly force, i won't add if your a Canadian , in a foreign country, under foreign laws, in a war zone lets keep it simple....and when can the militia and US forces return fire.....And can someone explain to me what criminal act took place....
-
Yes Jacee they've never been convicted of anything, but lets take a look at how it is going to affect his so call rehab, do you think his mother and sister are going to be a postive influence ....And the courts have made these types of decisions like this before...
-
Just a question who stands up for the rights of regular Afghanis citizens....And yes while it may be an honorable cause to stand up for all the Omars in the world, ensuring everyone has equal rights and is treated fairly....lets not forget one thing what the Taliban and al quadia stoood for, what they were trying to achieve, and that does not entitle them to anything except disdain..... Defending again'st invasion is honorable, except that is not what Omar and his cronies were doing, they were fighting an insurgent action again'st the ligitimate government of Afghanistan, which is illigal in any country including ours..............check the time lines, once again..... As for him not targeting civilians , what do you call placing mines on a hyway which 80 % of the time occupied by civilians, The mines he placed are victim operated meaning you have to step on them to make them explode....there is not remote device....So your claim that he was not targeting them is false when in fact he was targeting everyone. Your understanding of Combat is unbelievable, if you spent just 1/3 of the time you spend chasing down Conspiracy theories looking into how our military conducted itself on the battlefield you would understand more about this conflict than most..... I won't deny that the CF was involved in civilain deaths, but those were tragic accidents or non intentional, with the exception of one with was the shooting Capt Semeau was involved with....even that one could be debated.... I don't think anyone is out right saying abuses are good....i don't think they should be put ahead of the others such as law bidding deserving Canadians or law abidding Afghanis.... Now we are talking about shooting people and calling them disease on humanity....i guess it is OK to talk about human rights and abuses when it suits you and Omar, and does not come into play for the rest of Canadians....It's ok to talk the talk, but not walk the walk...

What's shameful is how "disdane" could "implicate" tax dollars. That makes about as much sense as Canadian citizens voting "more and more" for Harper! I'm sure an English teacher would be in full agreement with you... NOT. NO whats shameful is agreeing to compensate a conficted terrorist with tax payers dollars....while soldiers who have suffered much worse than our new hero Omar get a standard payout of 250,000 provided they qualify by Vets affairs...
-
Yes the Canadian who was conficted of murder, terrorist activites and aiding and abeding the enemy....that guy right....

According to the stats that are out there from different sources, in 2011, 2010, and 2009 an average of 80 % of all civilian cas were attributed to insurgents. 2011 in the 1 st 6 months 1462 civ deaths, 1167 from insurgents... .....2010.....2777 Cas, of which 2080 were caused by insurgents 2009 ....2412 civ deaths, 1630 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilian_casualties_in_the_War_in_Afghanistan_(2001%E2%80%93present) http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2010/aug/10/afghanistan-civilian-casualties-statistics The Drone is a wpn system that gives mission planners another tool , this one provides safety for soldiers as they don't need to in most cases cross a border, or hit a target deep behind enemy lines....before drones soldiers used to have to physically cross borders, pentrate enemy lines , get close to the target to laze it so an aircraft could drop a bomb...it posed risks for soldiers on the ground , and pilots....now they just send a machine... Not all targets are equal, high value targets such as Bin Ladin still get the human touch, as it is more reliable, and confirmation can be made instantly....

Yes it is all moot, although there is suppose to be a rehad program starting up shortly, again i doubt it will do any good, but atleast they can say they have done do diligence ..... None of those kids in Afghan have a life of their own....Omar is just one that has got all the attention.....
-
It is not just that they are lethal in combat, It is they're way of life, it surpasses anything cult like, it is who they are, what they are those involved in except their roles willingly without regret, and will give their lives at the mere sugestion of it....they are more committed than anyone in the west, including our soldiers.... Hence the once a bad guy always a bad guy statement, these guys don't change becuase they can't, .....take a look at omar we already know that he has been exposed to this behavior for most of his life....reinforced by his parents and his family, reinforced during his stay in gitmo by fellow prisoners, Do you really think a few shrienks are going to revert all that back in a few years, I don't think so......take a look at his family actions do you think Omar will revet all that teachings , with his family in the back ground screaming they are wrong.....this is his family we are taking about, his sister and mother play a major role in his life i'd say this is going to be a major hit to this shrienk training....Omar is already a rock star in the insurgent world is he going to be willing to dump all this attention..... another hit to the program....how about the way Canadians see him and how they will treat him it's going to play another small role.....I think he will put into the program what he needs to to get that check in the block for release....and may even keep it for a small while after release...but he will revert to what he knows and what he is confortable with.... You said you don't think he will be dangerous, but are you willing to place your life on the line to make that call.... As for the 40 year sentence this was 40 years total....and should be the standard sentence for any terrorist activity my opinion....
-
The only way Canadians are going to do anything other than pay Omar out for millions is if Omar shows his true colors, today at age 20 plus years old, and take down Canadians....I mean our government had his father released shortly after he died in a terrorist attack...along with one of his sons becoming crippled....and somehow he became a Canadian tax payer responsablity....i don't know what it would take to see them properly deported.....along with the rest of the know terrorists in Canada ...
-
"What more should be done to Omar Khadr, Army Guy? " Jacee, I get the fact that alot of Canadians don't support Omar and what he and his family did and are still doing. They support the fact that a Canadian Citizen has been abused by an inter national system, along with our own government taking a small part in that process. for the most part very few give a rats ass what happens to Omar once he is finished with serving his term for crimes he has committed. And to set the record straight i do not agree with alot of what happened to Omar in regards to his treatment while being held by US forces, and the steps our government took to assist him.... Do i think he has served justice for his crime ...No i do not, I think he should have served his full term of 40 years, or faced other crimes here in Canada, but that won't happen and that is my personal opinion which means jack shit in the grand scheme of things.... I do get that he was 15 years old at the time, i do get that he was carrying out his parents wish and wants, but those things were taken into account during his sentencing ...but when you place all the things that can be proven and all the things that can't and weigh them again'st his age , his parent the scales do not balance... Again my opinon... I've done 3 Combat tours in Afghan, my opinion is highly slanted for a good reason, i've seen first hand what bombers bring to the table, time and time again....i've also seen what insurgents bring to the table, and in some cases up close and personal, I don't hate them, hate is to strong a word, but i do not like them, or what they do..... I'am a professional soldier who was not suppose to allow my emotions get tied mixed up with the conflict, but i'm human first and fore most, and getting attached to the regular afghan people did not take long, add to all that i watched many of my comrads pay the ultimate price for that assistance....once that bond was forged the bad guys never stood a chance....that bond has been forged with many soldiers...i could never stay neutral, i always stood on one side of the line....always on the opposite side of the insurgents, or the team Omar was on. As for Omar he will be a rock star for the inter national terrorist comunity , treated like royality. our government will side step the issue in order to not have to deal with it...see bad press is bad for votes...do i think he will be watched like 2 rare birds being filmed by national geographic.... yes i do, until one of those meat heads screws it up again, and omar takes them to court again....I don't have much faith in the system....what i do have faith in is once a bad guy always a bad guy, and the law or a bullet will catch up with him....It's to bad that a price will have to be payed by all, and some more people will have to suffer...
-
Here is another example of the expectations of western Civilians on how ISAF is expected to run the WAR, Surgical strikes, no civilian cas, no killing of child soldiers, the list goes on....Insurgents are responable for 80 % of the civilian deaths ....thats a huge number.... While it is tragic that civilians are killed in any military operation, it is going to happen regardless of what wpn system you use....there is no perfect system that will kill only bad guys....those drone attacks are the result of months of Intel gathering , tracking down elusive high value targets, that are the command and control of terrorist insurgents....they are responable for the most part of thousands of civilian deaths.....after a risk mangement acessment the orders are given.....And while you may not like them, they are legal, and fall under the ROE's for the nation carrying them out.... Omar on the other did operate for one of the worlds largest terrorist networks, and was classified as an insurgent, or illigal combatant.....are you saying that he and they're operating proceedures are legal or perhaps should be legal think about that for a minute....that would mean that anyone could kill anyone at anytime by any means without legal action being taken again'st them....that would mean throwing out the conventions, or inter national law.... There are laws and for the most part they are designed to protect non combatants.....without them armies could kill wholesale, much like the monguls did or Hilter did with the unwanted of his world....
-
It was not my intention to mislead the reader into thinking Omar was the leader of the bomb making group, And he did do what his was told, planted mines on a busy hyway knowing very well the results of his actions....That was my intention....
-
Like i said the mines that Omar planted are victim operated ....they do not just explode when US military pers run over them...He placed them on a Hyway, that had about 90 % civilian traffic on it ....And he knew that, as he often worked gathering intel on US military traffic patterns.....But it's nice to know that it was his intention only to kill US military pers....i wonder did he stay on the side of the road to warn civilians of the mines , did he place a sign to warning them...or did he plant them just seconds brfore US pers arrived.... Kind of like leaving a loaded wpn on the living room table, in a house full of kids....hoping they won't touch it..... ISAF keeps detailed records of every IED or mine that is detonated, but it is extremily hard to prove who planted them unless caught in the act....or the IED has a signature to a certain bomber....I wonder how many were recorded in the area that this bomb cell woked in.... The area OK makes his vidio of planting mines, the next morning US forces hit one in that area, Omar was not accused of planting those mines has there was no hard evidence....But odds are it was his group, as they were the only one in that area....they knew it was his group but could not prove it....
-
Anyone with half a brain can make a bomb given the proper components. Do you honestly think Omar is going to get out after over a decade and start making bombs in Toronto? If you start criminalizing people who know you are an idiot. These things are not complex, and based on your statements you would likely fall into this same trap. MAKING PEOPLE STUPID IS NOT THE ANSWER. FREE PEOPLE AND WE WILL BE FREE. Jack the ripper could accomplish more than any bomb Omar is making. It is incredibly easy to kill people. Those sorts of IED's were to fight solidiers not civillians. The problem is not making the bombs but having the will to use them to promote your aims, regardless of the cost or victims....Omar and his buddies planted IED's and mines that claimed far more civilians than soldiers....most were victim operated, meaning all that was required was for someone to run over them, planted on roads and paths that had more civilian traffic on them than military....your claim that they were meant to fight soldiers is false...they're number one goal was to promote terror among'st the civilians.........killing soldiers was an added bonus.....To them this was all a game to see how many they could kill, that takes a special person to be that cold hearted....you could see that in the way they built their devices, with secondary devices more powerful than the orginal designed to kill first responders....which was normally ambulance staff, people on the scene trying to help, fire dept....real nice guys your buddy Omar....which is why ISAF spent so much funding and resources hunting these guys down...
-
Thats a croak of shit, and you know it.....everyone in the country knew that Coalition forces had invaded and disposed of the current government....that much was being broadcasted via taliban communications systems, plus the regular comms network you know radio, TV, even in the mosques....they knew exactly what was going they new that ISAF was hunting down bomb making operations and they were one of them, they knew ISAF would hand them over to the government of Afghanistan, and they did not treat insurgents very well....no they knew the score, hence we they decided to take they're chances and open fire first..... They did'nt read the news, thats pretty thin even for you Radsickle....
-
Your right i don't understand and can not find a link that explains it in the context your explaining it....Give me an example of a state that is not confined by boundries ie borders....From the sources i've found so far Government have control only have control of people within it's borders, and only have Jurisdiction within it's borders...they do have limited control over it's citizens outside those zones but that is it... So explain to me how this small band of taliban still have political or governmental control over anyone in afghan.... How the Bonn conference came about , it's spelled out in the links i gave you....The Un decided that instead of creating elcections right away within Afghan and have the country split on culture divides , it was decided to gradually build into it. allow the political system to mature and grow....no mention of any CIA involvement....Take a look at thos names that are provided in those links they are not all pro west....in fact some of them are clearly anti west...and wanted nothing to do with the proclaimed ISAF / UN plan.... Sorry but NATO links it is, don't like them then provide your own links that dispute them...Thats what debating is all about is it not....
