As if the big R has any idea how to set odds.

Now you know what BD thinks of the other male posters on this forum.

There biggest hurdle is the fact that there are no stadiums at present big enouhg to play in. I am not sure if it were these two guys, but the New Orleans Saints were very very close to being sold to Toronto investors. This was because of a lack any support post Katrina. The New Orleans Saints would probably go to San Antonio, where they played for awhile. A stadium in Toronto might not be a problem if there are some billionaires involved. The Green Bay Packers play some of their games in Milwaukee, I think. Maybe we could share.

And now back to my favorite topic. I guess the Globe and Mail do have the NFL on their radar screen. Ted Rogers has wanted to bring the NFL to Toronto for 18 years. With the Bills in Buffalo, that chance is probably zero, but if Wilson was out of the picture...Toronto might get four-down football. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/Pag...FRTGAM.20060906. wxnfltoronto06%2FBNStory%2FSports%2Fhome&ord=1172009023887&brand =theglobeandmail&force_login=true "Two of Canada's most influential sports entrepreneurs continue to chase the dream of bringing a National Football League franchise to Toronto.Larry Tanenbaum, a minority shareholder of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd., and Ted Rogers, chief executive officer of Rogers Communications Inc., the company that owns the Toronto Blue Jays, said yesterday that they hope to join forces to bring four-down football to Canada."

You mean Can expect from the Negro and the Woman. Both together, or one or the other? I think both would be harder on trade. Neither militaristic. Both would be expected to have initiatives for minorities, and both probably would. Hillary would not be second to Obama. Obama might take a second spot to Hillary.

European Union threat ignored by MSM
ft.niagara replied to Leafless's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
The world is smaller because there are more people in it, but because there are more people in Europe than in North America should not be a negative for North America in lost jobs. If North Americans only would produce what they consume, no problem. Trade agreements should be a zero sum game. You can not bring in more stuff, until the sum is zero again. Someday, people should demand it. -
European Union threat ignored by MSM
ft.niagara replied to Leafless's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
What is the MSM? Why is a United States of Europe a danger to 'western interest'? I would like to see the EU be more a player in the world for stability. A stronger EU would mean a more tempered US, and possibly Russia and China. -
Buy your stuff??? LOL They do not want your stuff, they want your resources. Capitalist??? Japan and China are going to take you to the cleaners. You think you are insulated being in Canada? Do you own any resources? LOL. You talk like some big cheese, big talk. Funny man.

President Bush Insults Canada Again
ft.niagara replied to BayLee's topic in Canada / United States Relations
You use the plural 'we', where you should be using the singular 'I'. The 'we' makes you feel powerful, whereas the 'I' makes you feel small and inconsequential. Get used to using 'I' more often because that is it, your opinion is small and inconsequential. -

Good news that the hotel was doing well, however, as quoted in the newspaper article, some Canadians businesses are noticing a drop off. -
Americans Staying Away in Droves

Of course not all Arabs are terrorists, but given the one billion moslims, and their propensity towards terrorism because of some tenents in their religion fostering hatred to other religions, their xenophobic nature, their inbreed thinking though their madrassa schools, and their control of the oil, we in the west are in peril because of them. One billion is one thousand million. One percent of one billion is ten million. There are easily one percent fanatics within Islim. And yes, they have painted themselves with the terrorist brush. Probably things are not as bad as I might say, or as good as you might say. -

I am sorry to disagree. Someone flew those planes into the WTC. That was an emotionally traumatic event. If you think of a country as an individual, think of RAPE and you can get a parallel. Those who flew those planes, until someone finds a smoking gun otherwise, was done by ARABS, mostly out of the home of Islam Saudi Arabia. Sorry, but the good ol' days are gone. -
How can you exploit their services if they are gladly selling their services at what they do? They have set the value of their labor.

Who are you, a social studies teacher?

Who are you talking to? Remiel, does it seem sometimes like you are unappreciated and just talking to yourself? It's ok, 'cause you are.

Americans Staying Away in Droves
ft.niagara replied to ft.niagara's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Yes the hastle is not likely on the Canadian side of the border, but on the American side. One American woman I know was telling me a story of how she was badly treated by an Amercian woman border guard. She is an over sixty, probably over seventy year old woman who was stopped for a couple of hours. In the course of the event she put back on her perscription sunglasses to see, and she was yelled at for doing so. "I didn't say you could..." The "Ah yes" theme of your reply speaks of sarcasm, but you asked the question, and I only responded to it with probably the true reasons as listed in the article. It is too bad, but tourism, including air transportation has taken a hit from all this Arab unhappyness. Air transportation's advantage used to be speed of travel, but not as much anymore. Security has become a new unionized industry. It has given alot of people great power and good paying jobs to be pricks. Thank your beloved Arabs for that. You are only witnessing the result of their tinkering. -

Probably right, but what difference does it make. He has less than two years left to go. Bash him all you want, even the right wingers don't really give a damn anymore. The campaigning has already begun for his job. -

I think like the article says, it is a number of things, SARS, the border, the lines, the value of the dollar (prices in Canada tend to be much higher), a liberal antiAmerican perception of Canada. -
My gosh what a story. I hear on Coast to Coast that alot of people are having foreign bodies implanted by aliens which are life changing experiences also.

I do not see that to be true. Economic activity is emotionless. There is no "exploit" to economic activity in its pureist form which is what globalization represents. What is sad is the lost dreams many in the west are experiencing because of the sea of people China represents. Their good jobs, and lifestyle they had grown to expect may not be available because of the Asian invasion.

While I agree that disagreement, especially over politics can be intellectually stimulating, I do not think that disagreement is all that healthy for family relationships. Even disagreement over politics in family situations can be damaging. Usually, those are just areas you just don't go there if there are known disagreements. Disagreements over child raising, and especially finances can be very damaging.

I guess I was wrong, they did fire Schottenheimer, the Chargers head coach. Too much friction between him and AJ Smith. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/charg...ers-rivera.html By Bernie Wilson ASSOCIATED PRESS 3:23 p.m. February 16, 2007 SAN DIEGO – Another guy with a Super Bowl ring dropped by San Diego Chargers headquarters looking for a head coaching job, and this one knows the drill pretty well. Ron Rivera, Chicago's third-year defensive coordinator who played linebacker for the Bears' 1985 Super Bowl champion team, was the fourth candidate to interview for the job vacated by Marty Schottenheimer's sudden firing.

I do not understand why not. Are you sure you do not. If I buy something on ebay from out of state, and have it delevered here there is no tax. If I buy a car out of state, and inform them I am regestering it out of state, I pay tax here, not there. Same would be true for a Canadian. You would be entitled to same consideration as normally shown out of stater at that location. Some locations have very high sales tax, other locations (Delaware) have no sales tax. Some have no tax on clothes and food (Pennsyllvania), and some no tax on just food (NY). It really doesn't matter what Canadian policy is, what is news is that there is a change. It may or may not effect tourism. It sounds like tourism has already been effected by outisde events since 2000. That is what is news. -

Huh??? Ms. BayLee again seems to be out of the loop. Perhaps some left winger can explain the thread to her. -
No point really. You seemed to be trying to be conciliatory. Politicians are conciliatory. Lawyers involved in elections are either district attorneys and judges. I see you more as a district attorney type.
