"I got a crush on Obama"

What a conversation starter. More likely it is a harmless video produced by a secret admirer. -
Bush Passport Requirements - Won't Pass
ft.niagara replied to August1991's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I think that the US has a problem that Canada does not have, and that is illegal immigration. There is no way the US can have a passport policy for Mexico only, and it is in the direction of a national ID, which I applaud. Further, Canada has a looser border than the US would like for itself. Given that the US is the bigger target, I see no irony in a country trying to protect itself, and yes, in that respect, the subversive forces have won. -

Racism in Lethbridge Causes National Boycott of Tim Horton's
ft.niagara replied to Catchme's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
This isn't racism, it (boycot) is extortion of a corporate entity. The tactic has worked in the past, no reason to think it will not work in the present. The only question is what (how much) is the payoff. the mock indigity is laughable. -
Robin, you can sit down now. Standup at the next clap sign.

Of course you would love to see the one Canadian team in the final four win, you are Canadian. My observation is that there seems to be a fair amount of anamosity againist Toronto within Canada. And yes, I have this ghost thoery. The lineup of teams, the history with those teams. The Senators can have next year.
-
I have a thoery, and time will tell if it is correct. I think it will come down to a Buffalo Detroit final, because of destiny, and hopefuly a Buffalo win. This seems to be a series of ghosts for Buffalo. In the Islanders, there was the team which fired the present Buffalo GM Darcy Regier. The NY Rangers are not the Giants, but the NY mayor made reference to wide right when he refused the food bet before the series. In Ottawa is the team which caused the Drury concusion and who most recently Emery stated he wished NY had won because there would be more to do between games (Willis McGahee?), and in Detroit is Dominic Hasek who laid down on Buffalo during the Buffalo Dallas Stanley Cup final and then demanded to be traded to Detroit.
-
Canadian Hockey Team? I bet Buffalo's europeans are better than Ottawa's.
-
That is so steriotypical. You just have to get to know them better. They are actually very intelligent and clean. They have an almost mystical importance to the indian. The city was not named after the animal, but after a creek which runs through it.
-
Great Predictions, except for the Canucks. I like the part about torturing the Ottawa Senators with the Buffalo Sabres during this next round. Actually, I think the Sabre name is one of the best in hockey. A Sabre is a blade, and hockey is played on blades.

Sounds like the sum total of your knowledge is based on four years of college indoctrination. I think your college sucks. It is probably some diploma mill producing mindless....knee jerk American bashers. And btw, the metric system sucks also. MC Squared=1210000, which is roman numberal 1100 times itself, which again is stupid and meaningless to all but a number junky. And lunix sucks also, along with your school. Windows is software rich, and lunix is software poor. What does it matter how great it is if it only acts as a server for windows.

Buffalo just beat NYR for the second time 3-2. I love New York.
-
New Orleans was a city below sea level, with a disfunctional local government. No evaculation plan, and a mayor who thinks of his city as a chocolate city, which was out right racist. And guess what, they reelect him. The governor of Lousiana was not much better. She at least did not refer to chocolate. And when things went wrong, they both lay blame on Bush. The logic of some people is scary.
-
Go Buffalo. Mayor Bloomburg refused to bet food with the Buffalo Mayor on the series outcome. Couldn't be bothered.
-
And they (who are they) would probably reject the right if it ever came before any governing body because the present situation (what present situration) helps to make them (who) look good and because if it (what) ever caught on it just might reach their (whose) level.

Islamic Fanatics Beat Journo in Canada
ft.niagara replied to ScottSA's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It is interesting that they used a cricket bat. I guess they must play alot of cricket in Pakistan, oops, I mean Canada. -
This thread is in Moral and Religious Issues together with homosexuality and obesity? Hockey in Tennessee? Well, at least Atlanta will not win the Stanley Cup. Too bad about Toronto not making the playoffs, again.

Alien Technology to Save Earth
ft.niagara replied to ft.niagara's topic in Canada / United States Relations
The logic was that a bulet goes 1500 miles/hour, and these things go faster. In 1947, the only thing that would have been fast enough would have been light. This fellow being interviewed on C2C interviewed the fellow who reversed engineered, and a doctor who treated the pilot of the plane who claimed to have shot down the saucer. He (the fellow being interviewed on C2C) speculated the Tesla Death Ray idea. -
Alien Technology to Save Earth
ft.niagara replied to ft.niagara's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I was listening to Coast to Coast the other night and they had on a fellow who had interviewed a fellow in his 70s who claims to have reversed engineered the negative gravity system used on the Roswell flying saucer. He claims that the saucers seen today are often ours. Also that the Roswell flying saucer was shot down, possibly by a Tesla death ray. The reason given that he came forward now was that he wanted the technology to become public so that it might help save the world through energy conservation/. -
Why Doesn't the US Respect Canada More?

Why Doesn't the US Respect Canada More?
ft.niagara replied to jbg's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I would not call the South traitors. At the time of the CW, the nation was only about 80 years old. It was formed by a sign on to the Constitution of many smaller states, and just as Quebec has a right to leave Canada, the South had a right to leave the Union. IMO. The Declaration of Independence said it in the 'when in the course of human events' phrase. Oh, and JBG, I did not want to bring it up as a topic, but did you get to see Soros's statement about the Israel lobby in the US? And unlike Carter, Soros is a Jew. -
I-man - what do you think about his remarks?
ft.niagara replied to RB's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I don't think so. They have never threatened boycotts against businesses supporting these rappers. No protest marches. It is simple black racism until proven otherwise, ie like condemnation. -

ft.niagara replied to RB's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Getting rid of Imus is a double edged sword for the Blacks. Now that they have done so, they risk white crys of racism for not going after the rappers and the like that they have ignored in the past, and probably into the future. After all, it was they who Imus thought made words like Hos and Kinky mainstream. As far as Obama, what is he to say, and why did he not say something before. For Imus, one of his disappointments was Rep Ford from Tenn did not come out in support, because Imus came out in support for him when it counted for him. Obama is similar to Ford in many ways. Maher is almost bullet proof on HBO cable, but ODonnel might be vulnerable.
