  1. Anyone who saw the match knows that Trudeau was not a victim of anything. The discussion involving Brazeau being a victim is what we in English call "a joke", which means a statement that is not intended to portray fact but rather evoke humour. You feel that a tattoo is conclusive evidence of Justin Trudeau's mental stability? See, August, you made a joke! Good for you! You're catching on! -k
  2. Excellent advice, Boges. I will cross that off my "bucket list". I hope everyone has a nice long weekend. -k
  3. Go back to Stormfront. -k
  4. Paul, I get. But Newt? What "issue" is he representing? Moon colonies? -k
  5. I have no idea what this guy is doing. I don't think you can criticize Rick Santorum for choosing to continue. He's been competitive in most states. He's won the conservative-leaning states. He's within a few percentage points of Romney in most of these contests. He wins demographics like rural voters and lower-income voters. I think the size of the constituency that is supporting Santorum justifies his continued presence, even if the delegate math is becoming increasingly difficult. Texas is a huge conservative state, and he could win an awful lot of delegates there. And Ron Paul... I think everybody including Ron Paul knows he won't win. But he doesn't even care... he's campaigning to spread his message. His continued presence in the campaign is probably good for the Republicans, because it is getting people to participate who normally wouldn't participate in politics, especially Republican politics. He's not taking away votes from other candidates, he is bringing votes from outside. But Newt Gingrich? WTF? Lately he has been getting beat by Ron Paul. He's getting single-digit percentages of the popular vote. How can he possibly think he has any hope left? If Newt left the race right now, Rick Santorum might pick up the lion's share of Newt's votes and it might be enough to close the gap with Romney. Yesterday on CNN, Piers Morgan asked a Newt strategists why he was still in, and she promised that the conservative wing of the party was coalescing around Newt... her evidence? Endorsements from Sarah Palin and Rick Perry. Which is hilarious, because if he could just pick up an endorsement from Christine O'Donnell, he would have the perfect trifecta of political idiots standing behind him. The conservative wing of the party has coalesced around a candidate, Newt... and it's not you. GTFO. -k
  6. I discussed the incident earlier in this thread. -k
  7. Indeed! People named Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, and Ron Paul, respectively. -k
  8. I figured that Charter.Rights would be calling it a hate crime. -k {"A cowardly, unprovoked assault on an unarmed First Nations man by a gang of one or more wealthy white racists..."}
  9. Santorum is a by-product of anal sex. -k
  10. Oh? I thought you said you were not sexually active. -k
  11. Indeed he did. And the Dennis Terry incident is irrelevant to Rick Santorum's chances of getting the nomination (for 2012, at least). However, I'd really like to hear the Shadester discuss why the Jeremiah Wright thing was such a monumental issue for people like him, while the Dennis Terry thing is of no consequence at all. -k
  12. That's highly dubious. That's an excellent suggestion. -k
  13. Well, we now know who *can* imagine telling a woman that she ought to bring that baby to term. His name is Terry England, and he's a state representative in Georgia. Georgia recently passed a law that would ban abortions after 20 weeks. The original draft of the bill did not allow any exceptions, even pregnancies considered medically futile. The bill was passed after it was amended to allow some exemptions, such as medically futile pregnancies. That didn't sit well with some Tea Party types, and it didn't sit well with Terry England either. Rep. England argued against exemptions by pointing to his experience delivering cows and hogs down on the farm. Sometimes they were still-born, and it was heartbreaking, but it's all just part of life's rich experience. You can hear the fat piece of dog-shit in his own words here: I know that violence is never the answer, but if Rep. England had explained that to me face-to-face, I don't think I'd have been able to control myself. He'd be eating through a straw and peeing through a tube for months. I especially liked the part when he explained how the cock-fighting enthusiast-- "a salt of the earth" type, by Georgia standards apparently-- told him that he'd give up his fighting-roosters if they'd ban abortions. That just about moved me to tears. I was first a little surprised that a cock-fighting aficionado is considered a "salt of the earth" type in Georgia, but then I remembered that dog-fighting enthusiast Michael Vick was a big hero in Georgia and it all made sense. Go Bulldogs, I guess. -k
  14. Jeremiah Wright? Is that that nig-- uh, preacher who we heard about non-stop for months in 2008? Yes, I remember that pretty well. Republicans and their supporters certainly seemed to think that having ties to the wrong religious people was a big deal at the time. Now they can't even be bothered to utter a peep about Santorum's buddy Denny Terry. I wonder what changed? -k
  15. While a few far-left crybabies contend that Harper = Bush, I don't think many rational people take the notion seriously. And I strongly doubt that the Canadians who voted for Harper are the same Canadians who are suing for the chance to donate to Obama. -k
  16. If he calls your lair and you're not home, hopefully he'll leave a massage. -k
  17. "A cowardly, unprovoked assault on an unarmed First Nations man by a gang of one or more wealthy white racists..." -how I imagine Charter.Rights would describe the match. I am quite impressed by Trudeau... Brazeau is a muscular, tough-looking guy, and Trudeau is .. well, you know. He weathered the early onslaught, and used his reach and mobility very effectively. He looks like he's done it before. It also helped that Brazeau was completely gassed after 30 seconds. Lead arms set in very early. Not most of them... -k
  18. Santorum says: The Sheriff Is Near! -k
  19. One of my friends' relatives had a cat who had diabetes and it lived to be very old, so your kitty can still have a long and happy life, Teddy! Luckily you found out in time. I love my kitty. If I had a big yard, and didn't have to go to work, I would have a dog. But I have a pretty small apartment and I can't be home enough so it just wouldn't be fair to a dog. My cat is cuddly and affectionate but independent enough that I don't have to worry about leaving him on his own all day or even for a weekend. -k
  20. Several companies have produced "Blonde ale" over the years, and I have always been somewhat flattered that breweries produced a special beer just for blondes. I was disturbed, however, to discover that Starbucks has a new product called "Blonde Roast." While their public relations people have assured me that no actual blondes are roasted in making this product, this is nonetheless a horrific name for a product. It harkens back to a dark time in our history when human beings were marched into incinerators because of sheer naked bigotry. The idea that this latest incarnation is acceptable because the target has changed is appalling to me. If this coffee were called "Jew Roast", Starbucks locations would be burned to the ground from coast to coast. I for one will not meekly accept this double-standard, and will be championing a class action lawsuit on behalf of all blondes who have endured mental distress at the thought of being incinerated due to Starbucks' insensitive new product. In the meantime I may picket my local Starbucks to bring attention to this outrage. -k
  21. Some controversial portions of the law have been removed. The law will no longer require that information about patients and doctors be posted on the web. To me the crazier abortion laws are the ones in Kansas and Arizona that would provide legal protection to doctors who lie to patients if it's done in the interest of preventing an abortion. -k
  22. I saw an interesting article last week about a study that claims that the close alliance between the Republicans and the Christian right doesn't strengthen Republicans so much as it weakens the church. Perhaps religious leaders should pay some attention to those who think that there's too much religion in politics. -k
  23. Paging Ser Bonam! Lord Remiel! Khal Blueblood! Season Two is just a week away! Are you stoked? I'm stoked. -k
  24. Virginia senator Jim Webb is not seeking re-election, and the Democrat and Republican candidates to replace him in November are finding themselves in a tight race against a grassroots independent campaign that is spreading like wildfire. Hank's message of real change has caught the imagination of a cynical electorate, and this inspiring campaign ad has taken things to the next level. But apparently not everybody is excited about real change. An anonymous Super-PAC has released this negative ad, which is just shameless fearmongering and character assassination. I'm disappointed, and even a little angry. -k
