  1. Interesting reading: http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canadavotes2011/story/2011/04/21/cv-election-votecompass-issues.html Last sentence couldn't be closer to the truth.
  2. "I'm not gonna take a GST hike off the table," -Ignatieff, definite Tory add. Most around here are Liberal/Anti-Layton specifically though.
  3. Hope he maxed his RSP's.
  4. I don't agree. That would only make sense if Layton were gunning for Tory riding's alone. Layton's top 20 list includes 11 Tory, 8 Liberal and 1 Bloc. A lot of things have to go miracle on 34th st to even start to consider a majority.
  5. I see "And I'm not gonna take a GST hike off the table" every day at least 3 times, not watching that much TV. Live in a very hot riding. Liberals seem to have by far the most out, followed by PSAC backing 'Public Services,' trashing Harper, and not endorsing anyone specifically.
  6. A little perspective, if 2008 were on Monday: Harper would need 8,080 more votes for a majority. Ignatief would need 405,361 more votes for a majority. Layton would need 1,164,829 more votes for a majority. https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ah9DcIZKQWcUdHR0ZUc1ZDNKY1pacllqREZ0SmJfWkE&hl=en&authkey=CLKy-JQM That was done in my spare time on a slow work day, please no citations for lapses of dyslexia and such. It should be pretty on point but I wouldn't try to vouch for 100%.
  7. The only people that would bother to read it are committed anti-Harper voters anyway.
  8. I was expecting MikeDavid00 to show up and explain how minorities don't work and are lazy..... Wonder if he's clicked yet?
  9. A bunch of religious zealots that want to take 1/4 of India and some of Pakistan to create a Sikh Nation called Khalistan. The terrorist movement trying to push for it is Babbar Khalsa, which was responsible for Air India. They say Wai Young is better because Ujjal actively campaigns against them, constantly at odds, the reason he was almost beaten to death. Evidently they think the NDP is not yet a factor, because Young or Wong would be better for them, anything but Ujjal and the negative publicity he brings.
  10. Sorry. I googled it after it was posted, because looking on the website yielded nothing. I'll try not to lie next time.
  11. Yeah....brand new story not to be found on the Canada Votes page. Have to google search it to find 1 of 5 articles.
  12. 10 seconds. 1 Person in front. 4 Ballot boxes open. Interesting, Tory's the only ones with Scrutineers.
  13. Sort of. They filed a complaint with Elections Canada, but not the electorate. Is there a CBC article? Front page of google news Canada? I thought it would be CBC worthy. Rick isn't crying about it so obviously it isn't an issue.
  14. We have our fair share of lefties, but lefties and righties alike can share in the dislike for the Liberal party. I wouldn't be surprised if they ceased to exist west of Winnipeg soon.
  15. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ottawa-notebook/joe-volpe-turfs-campaign-worker-caught-trashing-green-pamphlets/article1997614/ A Liberal Party volunteer has been dismissed after removing Green Party campaign flyers from mailboxes and replacing them with Liberal materials while door-knocking with Toronto incumbent Joe Volpe. The actions of an unidentified man canvassing with Mr. Volpe, who has long represented Eglinton-Lawrence, were captured in a series of photographs by a Green Party supporter on Friday. The Greens don't even cry foul.
  16. Um....yeah. They hate Dosanjh. With a capital H. That's why Wai Young was invited to the Khalsa school.
  17. Really? "...they have no place in this party..." = The above? It's a screw-up par excellence to be certain. But you draw this conclusion? BTW, good to know you only care if a Tory does it. Liberals are A-OK.
  18. The NDP & the Tory's.
  19. I heard that there was heavy tectonic movement in the last two weeks and Guelph now resides firmly within the state lines of Florida. Have to wait one more week to see if it's true.
  20. Lets rewind a bit here. She goes to a school in her constituency, for a meeting. She claims she had no idea of the person involved, regardless of whether or not this is true, Harper comes back publicly stating that there is no place for them in the party. This equates to "aligning themselves with terrorist sympathizers?" Never mind the fact that Ignatieff did an interview with a terrorist supporter, disclosing in full, in advance, that he was aware of all the circumstances. Meanwhile in the article that you posted, Malik has now switched to back Dosanjh because of Harper's comments. But you have no criticism of this whatsoever? There is no hypocrisy here whatsoever?
  21. He wont be posting.
  22. Elizabeth May is in BC now so those numbers will likely rise a couple of percentage points to little relevance.
  23. I'm not buying it either. If we go off the 2008 results, to get 11 more seats in an absolute best case scenario: The Conservatives need 8,117 more votes. The Liberals need 6,176 more votes. The NDP needs 29,566 more votes. I'm thinking the NDP will take a couple from the Bloc, and a couple from the Liberals, the Tory's maybe 1 or 2 from the Liberals, and the rest more or less the same.
  24. Rick, anybody seen campaigning with somebody like that, in good faith, might as well quit outright. Political suicide in a far bigger way than trying to discuss gay marriage or abortion. There is no way she knowingly did this. A busy campaign, and somebody at the office seriously F'd up or positively never should have been hired. Neighborhood is getting nasty, punjabi politics really pressing politicians. Ujjal, Kash Heed, Young...
  25. I don't generally venture East of Calgary, save maybe a week at most tolerating Toronto. However IMO, my favorite city in the GVRD has white Europeans as a minority. Great place to live, 3rd safest city in the province, crime and even panhandling ridiculously rare, and the highest life expectancy in the nation to boot.
