  1. Entirely true, but he does have a point. Where is the report? It has been a long time. I find it fun to watch the comments get disable/enabled on things like political stories with no harm to people or loss of life. Then the headlines like, Ignatieff Slams Harper on.....tired of people slamming things. Course the other way around it would read, Harper alleges Ignatieff did.... Not going to start on Terry Milewski. But the biggest turn-off, I work in commercial aviation. An industry reported on more often than most any other, and I would believe that the media has never reported anything significant accurately, ever. I'd like to see peer review, like Fox checks MSNBC, vice versa. Sun checks CBC, CTV checks global. Check the facts, what is the innuendo of the columns? The pipe dream that the above is, the Associated Press is probably my favorite source of published news.
  2. Sorry, the phrase is "ethnicity." Sick of that word.
  3. Sure place of birth is important. Why could skin color possibly be important?
  4. As am investment vehicle, not even a vacation home. Is there an investment anywhere that doesn't at some point, lose value?
  5. I would like to see them continue to give the little guys a chance. IE: For the first 10,000 votes you get subsidized, beyond that your cut off.
  6. What relevance could the government possibly require to things like color of skin and religious affiliation? What justifiable reason is there to spend federal money on such things? Got the long form, had fun with those parts, told the truth on the important stuff like disabilities, age, employment.
  7. You think any of this is true?
  8. Is Stephen Harper exciting? How about somebody that does the job well? Somebody who leads based on ideology rather than strategic positioning with no other purpose besides getting elected? How about somebody that doesn't sound like a used car salesmen trying to pitch something even he doesn't believe. Ignatieff was kind of exciting, inspiring he was not.
  9. C-50 - Exceptional circumstances defining specific conditions that must be fulfilled prior to interception, and such information must be made public. Besides the fact that the internet is such a public realm and it's so easy to collect data anyway. C-51 -enabling police to identify all the network nodes and jurisdictions involved in the transmission of data and trace the communications back to a suspect. Judicial authorizations would be required to obtain transmission data, which provides information on the routing but does not include the content of a private communication; -requiring a telecommunications service provider to temporarily keep data so that it is not lost or deleted in the time it takes law enforcement agencies to return with a search warrant or production order to obtain it; Can you stipulate which points are scary? I'm not seeing it, not expecting Tom Clancy thriller NSA stuff either.
  10. Universally blaming the Tory's for the spilling of this story is far and away worse than declaring Jack guilty without due process or complete facts. At least there is a shred of evidence standing against Jack. And I don't say that to defend the Tory's, the Liberals certainly do not deserve a free pass.
  11. If you expect the Liberals to prop up the NDP for 4 straight years, heck for even 1 straight year to begin with...
  12. Saw an awesome tweet; "I'd rather be found nude at a massage parlour than fully clothed working at sun media."
  13. Where would the women's rights vote go? The NDP will be there longer than Layton.
  14. Yes. How many riding's are they in direct competition with the NDP for, and how many more do they split the vote? If it was them, and they get caught, they'll lose far more than they ever could have hoped to gain.
  15. Nothing. Even more, it was 15 years ago. The important thing is his reaction today.
  16. To late. They're already calling it, "Mastergate."
  17. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliot_spitzer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Foley http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Craig http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Allen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Lee_%28politician%29 She has a point though, perhaps it's not the public that cares, but the media certainly has cross-hairs and double-taps. American woman, that is the perception up here, I would say.
  18. Can you provide info large Canadian scandals involving politicians and their personal lives, not directly connected to governing, that have cost them careers/support? The only thing that comes to mind is Gordon Campbell, DUI/Lara Dauphinee - Free pass. I've not often heard of somebody's downfall over something that did not involve money. I would offer my opinion that Bill Clinton would not have been impeached by the lower house were he somehow transmorgrified into Canada.
  19. Doesn't matter. Whatever damage was/is/may be done, is done, and little will change that. The general public doesn't endlessly discuss these things on message boards to find the holy grail of truth. I suspect it will be a non-issue, this isn't the US of A, most of the public just doesn't care, more than likely rightfully so.
  20. Google Street View It's really hard not to infer something, based on an establishment of that appearance. Especially from a city councilor who by rights ought to know what sorts of neighborhoods contain what sort of business. Be interesting to see if the factual history of the place ever gets confirmed. And if Kenneth Starr is working for the sun. [/sarcasm]
  21. Was another one really necessary?
  22. Hence I asked for a cite. I don't believe it, and would be interested to read it. Just because it's repeated 1000 times doesn't make it true. And what valid information says the F-35 does? Empty weight is within 5,000 pounds, wing loading is the same, one would expect similar landing performance.
  23. Google search only yields newspaper articles. There are no test results to be found, published limitations, or any other valid information. I'm talking about the airfoil, not the aircraft. There is a lot of commonality between the two. Given the aerodynamics, combined with the F-35's greater wing loading, one would expect better crosswind performance, something I haven't seen any negative reports of. There is no way to discuss landing rolls at various weights and temperatures without valid performance data. The CF discussing the installation of a drag chute does not validate the inference that the aircraft isn't capable of landing on runways up there.
  24. Can you cite that without a news article? Something tells me there isn't an F-35 POH or demonstrated crosswind component chart floating around on bittorrent while it's still undergoing flight testing. More than likely it's using a NACA 6 series airfoil like the F-22, in addition to a similar airframe. With the F-35's heavier wing loading, crosswind and short-field performance is more than likely better than the F-22.
  25. He may also be the wooden stake that finally goes through Gregor Robertson's heart.
