  1. Nice misdirection. There are always SOME costs to anything in life. The very relevant point is that majority of the bills that millions of Americans get saddled with are virtually unheard of here.
  2. Did you read that section though? "Medical Reasons" in Canada means loss of income while dealing with health issues, not medical bills. Because in Canada, you CAN quit your job to deal with a serious medical condition full-time and not lose your coverage.
  3. I've never seen or been put on one of these waiting lists. Getting the medical care you need when you need it is the norm in Canada.
  4. You just admitted it again. No cite required.
  5. I don't, because it's a false concern. Let the conversation go where it may. If the topic is worth getting back on track, an active membership will do that. It's it doesn't come back, that part of the thread was done anyway.
  6. Tampering with previous data is not science by any definition. You just admitted that you understand that lying is "part of the science".
  7. Hooray, another one who fell for the hoax.
  8. Someone has certainly done a good job at convincing you that the Canadian system is the polar opposite of how it actually operates.
  9. From the link Shady provided: NOAA has been caught lying far too many times for any serious person to take a thing they say at face value anymore.
  10. It's totally debatable, because it's not even remotely true. The Fraser Institute and the CPC have opposing views on many issues, especially when it comes to healthcare.
  11. I've never seen one of these wait lists. I get the care I need when I need it, period. And yet, the funding for healthcare has been greatly expanded under the Conservatives. The previous Liberals were the ones who cut funding.
  12. Those ones are definitely sent by the party, not the parliamentary office. They stopped using the "checkmark" template once they got a majority. That was the reason for the change in the frequency of them as well -- a minority meant they were in constant election mode.
  13. It's exactly the opposite. Our current NDP government is fiscally incompetent. They spend wild amounts of money on fanciful dreams, with no accountability for outcomes. The PC's ran this province right. We had fully balanced budgets by law, and far better outcomes in education, health care, and most other public services. We had less debt, lower taxes, and better services.
  14. If they were even remotely concerned about the kids, they wouldn't have walked out on them. The only thing they care about are their wallets.
  15. It's an indication that they know they are wrong and have no choice but to give up their untenable position.
  16. The stories posted are pretty vague about what specifically the NDP was doing. I know the CPC keeps party and govt mailings and calling completely separate -- public resources are absolutely not used at all for fundraising and the like. The grey part is when MP communication to their constituents is written in a partisan manner. So that's the question I want to know: are we talking about the NDP using public offices, staff and equipment to do party business, or are we talking about MP communications not being neutral enough? The OP article has this: http://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/ndp-mps-ordered-to-repay-1-17m-over-improper-mailings-1.1863801#ixzz34dA89NRJ To me, that sounds like they were conducting party specific business, rather than party slanted MP business. I'd really like to see the mailers to see if that's actually the case. Sometimes the distinctions are subtle, but there definitely is a difference. I can tell right away which mailers I get from my MP are sent from the her MP office, and which are sent from the EDA.
  17. It's an interesting pattern isn't it? Ontarians' provincial support is almost always opposite to their federal support. 2015 is looking better all the time!
  18. Even as an affirmed "law and order" conservative, I have trouble with these laws. Yeah, you have to do what you can to get the street level stuff OFF the street, and to protect vulnerable people from being exploited. But why do I (or anyone else) care if two consenting adults decide to exchange money for whatever they want to do in private?
  19. How useful were they in predicting the last BC election?
  20. I wish it was true, but sadly, it's not. If anything, it's bizarre how much support and how much slack the Conservatives have given the CBC.
  21. They are fighting for their own pocketbooks, nothing else. AND, they are walking out on those kids they claim to care about. Lairs and hypocrites, the lot of them. At least the BC govt is docking their pay if they walk, but that doesn't even come close to going far enough. What they should be doing is firing anyone who walks. You were hired to do a job, if you don't want it, we'll find someone who does.
  22. Every teacher that walks out on their students is exposing just how little they actually think of those kids. This is absolute proof that they are flat out lying when they say they care one bit about the kids. Selfish crybabies is what those teachers are. They should all be fired.
  23. That's certainly the story that Bush told us. The actual weapons inspectors, the ones who would actually know, tell a different story.
