  1. I wouldn't even go so far as to say that it's a problem. If someone wants to present themselves in a manner that is inconsistent with reality, that's fine. Just tell the truth when you do it.
  2. To make a distinction between the two is to deliberately lie.
  3. Gender is a biological fact, verifiable with a DNA test (even before birth). It's not an "identity". If you have a "gender identity" that is not that which the DNA test says, then you have a mental illness.
  4. Or everything both the NDP or Liberals ever ask... Most of it is of the "Given that the Prime Minister eats kittens, will he now step down?", variety.
  5. Because they are the best in the world at force and violence.
  6. Not only can they be, they have been. Just ask Pat Martin.
  7. You're being ridiculous. If it happened ONCE, unprovoked, yeah, she's a victim. If she already knows that's how he behaves, she chooses to stay with him, and she chooses to do the very things that she already knows will set him off, she is NOT a victim anymore. She's as much a party to the brutality as he is. It's called taking responsibility for your own actions.
  8. People need to take responsibility for their own actions. Nothing excuses the man's behavior. That said, she must take responsibility for for both the decision to stay with someone who is abusive, and for doing the things that set him off.
  9. That's a good point. Maybe they should under some circumstances, especially if people's lives are at stake.
  10. You're the one who made the idiotic suggestion, you might want to take a look in the mirror when you talk about who is or is not acting rationally.
  11. It's not either, or. It's both. Idiot cop shot him, because he ran away.
  12. While that actually does sound like a pretty good idea, that's not what I'm talking about. What I mean is, who is right is virtually irrelevant in the moment. You can be in the right, but if you make a decision (or lack thereof) to put yourself in grave danger, being right won't make you any less dead if it goes badly for you.
  13. But you're still dead.
  14. How did that work out for Mr. Scott?
  15. How not to get shot by police: 1) Don't commit crimes. 2) Don't hang around with people who are committing crimes. 3) If you get detained, don't fight the police. 4) Don't run away from an officer who is trying to arrest you. Do any combination of those, and you're essentially putting the bullets into your own body.
  16. Drift is good. It's a nice organic conversation.
  17. Lack of funding isn't always the problem either. Governments have a habit of thinking that just adding more money is a solution to anything. When budgets are ballooning out of control, but outcomes are actually getting worse (as is the case in most provinces), it's pretty obvious that lack of money is not the actual problem. Just because you spend too much, that doesn't mean you are not funded enough.
  18. They are not getting less. They are getting more than they ever have.
  19. I wonder if Dre thinks this chart has meaning too: Or maybe this one: It's obvious by these numbers that more pirates will stop global warming, and allowing more people to drive with cell phones will reduce accidents. Right?
  20. It's better than that., they added four additional years of 6%, followed by further increases tied to the rate of inflation (guaranteed to be no less than 3%). It's a lot more money than Martin had ever promised to do.
  21. You're the one who thinks 6 + 3 is a subtraction problem.
  22. Sure I did. I still do. That has not changed.
