Pension or not, politics is a gruelling game. Anyone who's been in office for 10 years or more is likely burned out. It's amazing so many people stay on as long as they do.

I've never met anyone within the CPC who fits that description.

Where are they? Who are they? I've never met one.

NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll

It is a moronic statement, for sure, but you're the one making it. It's certainly not what I said. -

Yes, I think we have already established that you aren't a fan of reality. -

It's the only meaning that really matters. Wealth is your net, not your gross. If you don't get to keep it, it's not a relevant number. -
It's not so much "protection" as it is a recognition.

Forward the bills to Urbandale. They're the ones who signed the contract, not you. I also have never heard of renting your water heater. That sounds like a scam right from the outset, without even knowing the terms. And a 25 yr contract? Get out of town. Who signs ANY contracts for services to your home? I certainly never have. Being able to change providers if one is not giving you what you need is pretty important.

That people will rise to the occasion when they find out that their fellow human being is in need?

For the religious rights to be invoked, it seems to me that the accommodation should be coming from the airline, not the individual. The passenger has the right to make other arrangements if they don't like the airline's policies. That too can work both ways. An airline can invoke a secular policy that says it will not accommodate those who aren't happy with their seating based on the proximity of the other gender, but another airline could just as easily make it a policy to always make such accommodations, and allow potential passengers to decide what they want to do when booking.

Separation of church and state works both ways. The church shouldn't interfere with the state, nor should the state interfere with the church.

Darwin Awards and Need For Guns
Bryan replied to Big Guy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
By counting hispanics as "white", people can manipulate statistics to make it appear as though there is less disparity between "white" and "black" crime stats. -

Anyone who thinks this harmless prank is real sexual harassment is not someone you can take seriously either.

Grossly over-reacting. Anyone who thinks this harmless prank is a real problem is not someone you can take seriously.

Harper won't take part in media consortium debates
Bryan replied to poochy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Did you even read the article? The Conservatives have already agreed to two debates (one being done by Macleans, the other by TVA) and are looking over offers for up to three more. CPC is more than happy to participate in debates, televised or otherwise. Those other networks can even air the broadcast, they just don't get to produce the content. If I had to guess, TVO is probably one of the others in the running. This could be a really good move long term. We might end up with the beginnings of an election campaign that had actual debates instead of shrill scream-fests like we've been getting in recent years. Let's hope. -
I think this one demonstrates even more clearly that female reporters are definitely not being specifically targeted: The prank is simply to see if you can get the outrageous phrase aired on live TV. Who is holding the mic is not even part of the equation. It's juvenile, sure. But seeing how much some people are grossly over-reacting to it is hilarious.

People in this thread have claimed that there is no consortium. Scribblet posted a blog post about the evidence for it, and you called it "insane conspiracy theory nonsense that has no basis in reality". -
You made a statement about what conservatives DO, not what they might do in the future:
