NDP drug shortage motion gets government's support

Nice to see parliament actually working for a change. It's a lot easier to come to agreements when you're discussing things for the benefit of Canadians rather than just trying to make each other look bad. -
Well, you've certainly provided a lot of evidence for that position. The editors at the Economist sure could have saved themselves a lot of work if they'd only consulted you first.
-
I wouldn't either. China (and Cuba to a lesser extent) are not Communist systems. They are State Capitalist. Some of the largest, most profitable companies in the world are owned and operated by the Chinese government. There was a pretty good feature about this in the Economist in January. Part of it is posted on line: http://www.economist.com/node/21543160

Conversely, only the losers cry out for alternative vote accounting. I blame the schools. No-fail policies, and "participant" awards have set people up for disappointment when they actually lose in real life.

Sun Media Legers poll backfires on them

What did they run on? • The omnibus crime bill: passed. • Eliminate the wheat board monopoly: done. • Eliminate the long gun registry: done. • Eliminate per-vote Political party subsidies: done Mess? Best managed economy in the world. Best management of the economy during a recession in Canadian history. Yes, they did create that. -
Preston Manning says that the Harper Government is bad

I don't think anyone is going to be surprised, whatever happens, when it comes to Guelph. It's quite clear that there was a tit-for-tat escalation of behavior that was at the very least questionable. That some people in more than one party did something is what we should expect to find. "A" conservative isn't going mean anything with respect to the government or the legitimacy of the election... especially since the CPC didn't even win in Guelph, and the guy who did win has already admitted to breaking several elections regulations. The campaign in that riding was dirty from the get-go. -
Harper invites anti-gay womens group to nominate Canadians

It was a proud moment actually. Our leaders stood up against the murdering of innocent unborn children, despite outside pressure to capitulate. -
Fantino accused of of having 3 bank accounts

Bill, this is the entirely of the opposition tactics at this point, just keep throwing out over the top unfounded allegations, and keep screaming louder and louder. Doesn't matter how many times they get caught lying, they just keep saying the same things over and over. No wonder no one is listening to them. -
I haven't been around for a century, so I can't comment on that. The last 40 years though, for sure, the best by far.

I'm saying they are proprietary information. CPC are better campaigners than the LPC and NDP, and they are not about to start training you on how to do your own damn job just because you don't like how the election turned out.

Perhaps what? Perhaps Elections Canada officials are incompetent for processing incomplete applications? EC are the ones responsible for making sure the forms are complete and the ID checked, whatever party those registrants might support isn't a factor in the slightest. That they rushed out to vote at the last minute is against evidence of the opposite of suppression, it's a sense of urgency, that this election mattered. Almost 5000 MORE people voted in Volpe's riding. Considering what a complete disaster the Liberal campaign was, the fact that Volpe's own vote count was only down by about 500 is a testament to how much of his supporters did get out and vote. 5000 more voters in one riding. That's not suppression. It's somewhat ironic though, that Volpe--a guy who was caught signing up dead people to party memberships for his leadership bid, destroying his opponents' campaign material, and accepted political donations from children to circumvent campaign donor limits -- is the one whining about improper paperwork.
-
Keep thinking that. It's quite helpful.

Best election result in party history for the NDP?
-
Logic is not your strong suit, is it?
-
Really? You're claiming suppression, but the fact is more people voted. That is the opposite.
-
Of course they did. We already went through this. The opposition is not going to get a look at the inner workings of how the Conservative campaigns are run. The CPC is simply not going to show them how they got their asses handed to them for five consecutive elections. that's all this nonsense is really about, a ruse by the opposition to try to get some inside info. Rest assured, even with a subpoena, neither the opposition, nor EC are going get a look at everything, and nor should they.
-
Nobody cares about some annoying phone calls. If someone chooses not to vote because they got a phone call that was annoying, THEY are the ones who "don't deserve to live in a democratic country". Besides, turnout was actually UP by almost a million voters.

The new prisons should be concrete boxes, no amenities at all. No windows, no beds, an ice cold shower built into the cell that turns on at random intervals. Dish of unrecognizable food shoved under the door once every second day. If Amnesty International is not raising a stink about prisoner abuse, that means you're being too soft on criminals.

It's part of basic Cable for Shaw too. I'm not opposed to them bundling all news channels together and making them one extra bill package. I do think it's ridiculous that CBC gets a guarantee to promote their extreme leftist propaganda, but you have to pay extra to get a news channel that bothers to check their facts though.

The story you linked to shows the opposite, that the robo-vote -suppressor was already up and running, and targeting Conservative voters. Something that had already been reported to Elections Canada back in May. EC concluded that there was no hard evidence to justify an investigation, and even if there were, the robo-calls were just a nuisance, not illegal. Just like the in-and-out faux scandal before it, EC sure changed their tune when it looked like non-Conservatives might have been called too. The selective outrage over this non-issue only serves to reinforce the reason why the CPC has garnered more support in five consecutive elections: the opposition has cried wolf far too many times, and the electorate is not listening to it anymore.
-
It was a stupid stunt by the opposition, nothing more. Canadians saw through their ridiculous rhetoric, and made them pay for it.

Who is bringing in the american style politics?
Bryan replied to PIK's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Do you ever post anything that is actually true? -
The robocall thing is just another in a long line of faux scandals from the opposition that has cemented in many voters' minds that the NDP and Liberals can't be trusted.
