  1. Good lord. And you question the "toxicity" on the board?
  2. If you were banned, why are you allowed to just register another name and come back? What were the other names?
  3. How many different accounts is he posting from? Is that even allowed under forum rules? Most of the other forums I visit have strict rules against this.
  4. For the Canadian economy. The higher the price of oil/gas, the better it is for all of us.
  5. Even if that were true, Canada is the oil supplier in this case. More markets is good for us. More markets AND higher prices? Bonus.
  6. I didn't catch on to the thread being a joke, because had just finished reading about how they ARE banning hoodies in the UK. I assumed this thread was going to be about that. When it wasn't, I was confused.
  7. I don't think the question is complicated at all. I vote for the party that is either most likely to enact policies I agree with, or least likely to enact policies I disagree with. Isn't that how everyone votes when it comes right down to it?
  8. The name sounds like a villain in an old movie: "The damsel was abducted and tied to the train tracks by the evil Thomas Mulcair".
  9. I haven't been involved in any activism whatsoever. The Council of Canadians, on the other hand....
  10. Council of Canadians. Another NDP activist sub-group, YAWN.
  11. If there actually was any evidence of anything even remotely close to that, we most certainly would be having that debate.
  12. As long as he's attacking on substance, I see no issue with it. It's the NDP's history of just making things up that the Conservatives never did or said that I take issue with. Mulcair's already starting with his denouncements of details of the budget that he has not even seen yet.
  13. There's a substantial difference, none of those guys are running for Prime Minister of Canada. Turner was appointed by his own party though. He didn't fare so well with the voters.
  14. How do you figure? They've been doing it for a while now, and have seen increased support (more votes, more money, and more seats) in five consecutive elections.
  15. You don't think it is worthwhile, many think it is. IMO, that's the biggest problem with our justice system right now: not enough emphasis on punishing the offenders because they offended. Rehabilitation and/or societal benefit should only come into effect if and when sufficient punishment has been administered.
  16. Why does there have to be a benefit? Make it all about punishment.
  17. Are you seriously trying to claim that those responsibilities do not rely on Federal funds? That the provinces are Federally mandated to administer them? That Federal transfers to the Provinces that pay for such things were not held back? Is that your position?
  18. That is a problem. We should change that. Those all sound like great ideas. That probably is where we should start actually. People who commit serious crimes have voluntarily abandoned their rights, and our laws should reflect that first and foremost.
  19. Who's revising? Over $50B was raided from EI alone, and nearly that much was left unpaid in health, education, infrastructure, and defense obligations. Try just not paying your mortgage, cashing out all of your RRSPs, and see if your bank thinks you're a good fiscal manager when you show then that you have a few dollars in your savings account.
  20. How was he? He left ten of billions in spending obligations unpaid in order to post his fake "surplusses", which he then immediately spent on Liberal pet projects. All the while he was raiding other agencies like EI to the tune of several more tens of billions of dollars.
  21. Did you?
  22. No, as a finance minister, Martin was incompetent. Even Chretien says so in his book. Without question, Harper has moved way too far to the left for my liking. Many Conservatives feel that way.
  23. It doesn't incriminate the CPC in the slightest. It was a message of support for Valeriote. ALL of the evidence so far points directly at Valeriote.
  24. In Manitoba they are running massive deficits, burdened Crown corporations with further huge debts, and have more than doubled the welfare roles. The local media didn't call the finance minister a Weapon of Math Destruction for nothing.
