Try reading about Tommy Douglas, or other people who are not on the extreme right wing if you want to be able to honestly evaluate your position.. or theirs... I get my inspiration to be a politican from reading so many books on politicans (Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, Henry Kissnger, Brian Mulroney, Joe Clark, John Crosbie, Bill Davis, Nelson Rockefeller, and Stephen Harper. Is it a bad thing that I get inspiration from reading about other people's lives?

I think I will describe my positions on issues. -Aganist Abortion on demand, but if it threatens the woman's life then yes. -For civil unions (keep marriage between man and woman). -Pro gay rights (except right to marry, again marriage is between man and woman). -I believe Ontario needs to take more steps in the environment (more windmills and solar panels). -One single public health care tier with private involvement. -Pro Free Trade. -Cutting taxes and paying off the debt. -Stricter crime and drug laws. -Pay equity for women (that's common sense). -More money for education. -Banning teachers from striking (They are a necessary service). What do you people think so far?

My achievable dream/goal is to become Premier of Ontario before my 50th birthday (May 2, 2038). I believe that I would make a good premier because of my moderatency in being conservative. My plan: -During my 20s, I will be involved in the PC party, but I will have a job outside politics,maybe. -In my 30s, I will run for the nomination, if I get that and if I win then I will become an M.P.P. -Hopefully, I will become a cabinet minister after a few years. -Then run for the leadership of the PC party. What do you think?

I think it's time for a moderate leader in the Republican Party. After 8 years of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, the party should move to the left. I bet the country is moving that way anyway. Either Rudy Giuliani or John McCain would make fine presidental candidates. A Guliani-McCain or vice-versa would be formiable to anything the Democrats can muster. If they are anti-protectionist, why didn't they re-open the border to beef (before the second case of MCD was discovered)? Why haven't they solved the soft-wood lumber issue?

There is no "best" because everyone has a different opinion.

The question should be, do we want someone more idealogically pure in his/her views, or do we want a moderate/pragmatist who knows how to get elected.

No problem, Blue Tories are the righter than what the Conservative party is right now. Or think of original Reform Party. Red Tories are the left of the new Conservative Party. Think of Brian Mulroney as a Red Tory, Belinda Stronach, and John Tory.
