  1. Red Tories are more electable than Blue Tories. Blue Tories are the Alliance guys, Red Tories are the old PCs.
  2. I say Red Tory is the best solution. I have proof for this. From 1943-1985, Red Tories ruled Ontario and made it better. I don't think that Blue Tories will work in Canada, I say this because they are alittle too far to the right for most Canadians. Red Tories work and it shows.
  3. Ya, how does learning make me smarter?
  4. Conservative governments are so horrible that Ontario had a Conservative government for 50 years in its 62 year history. Conservatives did great things for Ontario, like create Ontario Hydro, TVO, and kept the province of a steady course.
  5. I resent not being up on your poll.
  6. How dare you not pick me for one of the elected!
  7. How dare you think of such a thing. Religion is a wonderful thing, it's the people who take the views into their own hands. Religion gives people hope and peace. It's hard for non-religious people to understand religion. It's like a guiding light for us who believe and go to church.
  8. For me, same sex is a clash inside me. On one hand, I'm catholic and have been brought up with the notion of man and woman marriage only. I support that view. But it's a question of rights, if you know what I mean. People should have the right to marry, wheter their sexual style. I'm not against gays. In fact, I have a very talented and fun music talent who has a male "partner".
  9. How dare you think that it would be an issue.
  10. I would pick Nelson A. Rockefeller as the best vice president that should have been president in his political life. He had a very good record as governor of New York (1959-1973). He put in place the strictest drug laws, and he helped to develop New York into a modren state. As Vice President, he presided over a Presidential Commission in 1975 that was investigating the CIA and some of its covert activities. At its conclusion he said that "the CIA has engaged in a number of plainly unlawful programs". But the report was filed away and no one faced any legal consequences. He would have been a great Liberal Republican President if his Presidental campaigns in either 60, 64, or 68 suceeded. Shame he was never picked.
  11. You're distorting the question here.
  12. Well, that killed the conversation.... Thanks, Hugo for the know-how.
  13. But the gov't doesn't have to take responibility for unemployment. It's a fact, that people will always be unemployed, you can't end unemployment. Inflation is more dangerous than unemployment. It makes businesses have to cut their losses and fire people, ie unemployment. The only government stimulant is tax cuts. Tax cuts work. Cut taxes when the economy is down, and put them sort of back up when the economy's going good.
  14. Increasing gov. spending is not the only way of fighting unemployment. And deficit spending, though an inflationary influence, need not produce substantial actual inflation. But more fundamentally, there isn't really anything that wrong with a little inflation. In fact, without some inflation, you are probaly experiencing no growth. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But leftist thinking is that, the gov't has to get rid of unemployment themselves. They have to create all these programs and spend a fortune.
  15. Watching FOX news makes you stupid. But that's another thing. FOX news is basically the government's progranda machine, same with CNN.
  16. But fighting unemployment will drive up inflation. If you spend more, you go more in debt and the inflation goes up.
  17. He was a big part and thanks, but maybe not a hero. I don't think it's fair that Felt is accused as a traitor from a bunch of crooks. They don't have credibility, even though I saw G. Gordon Liddy on Fox news (why I was watching it, I don't know) saying I have lots of credibility on the issue.
  18. I would choose inflation because it is the smartest way to fight both of them. Inflation causes unemployment. If the inflation rate is high then businesses have to cut their losses and fire people. Lower inflation makes the businesses more confident and they hire more workers. Fighting unemployment would cause a deficit. Spending money isn't the answer. Example is the Trudeau era, (I know there was a recession). More spending equals more inflation which causes unemployment.
  19. Hi-O, gonna put these jokes on the Johnny Carson Show!
  20. Plus, Duceppe is inexperienced in provincial politics. And he says he wants to stay with the Bloc in the next federal election.
  21. I don't think Mark Felt was the main part of Watergate but he certainly played a big role in letting the Post' know that they are on the right track. But he wasn't the main part, they are alot of other people, like Judge Sirca, and Senator Ervin.
  22. How can he be called a traitor by a bunch of crooks?
